It’s a problem with no solution, at least as far as BM is concerned.

That phone had to be dead before he left the house, as he had to take it with him to dispose of it.

In BM’s bike ride narrative, he’d claim that the phone is missing because Suzanne had it with her. The issue is her phone had to have gone dark many hours before. So she’d have to have gone on a bike ride with a phone that was turned off, and never powered on since BM “last saw her at 5am.”

What’s it called when you checkmate yourself?

Up a creek without a paddle...

I don't think there was a stranger abduction, robbery or mountain lion either. Which goes back to my original comment regarding BMs 'let me tell you what happened' stories being bogus. Had I been looking for another explanation, I am sure I could have gained 'statistical advantage' but that was not the purpose of my answer to your question(s).

I didn't think you were answering any questions - just saying that you don't think it was an abduction, or lion.

So then I asked what you in fact do think happened. All I was saying is that in the absence of no theories at all, going to theories suggested by past experience are what a lot of us do.

You still haven't answered my question - but that's okay. None of us knows what actually happened. I was just adding an option you didn't put into the post to which I responded. I've thought a few others (suicide, misadventure). I don't think it was misadventure and LE says they don't think it was suicide.

It's that last fact that makes me wonder what LE has, that we don't have. It doesn't leave many possibilities.

If SM had been killed at home and it was by strangulation or broken neck there may have been no blood evidence.

But what if there were bodily fluids that caught the perpetrator by surprise. Then he may have gone to town for cleaning supplies like bleach.

Would spots show up with Luminol or lights or anything?

BM keeps on 'giving' when he talks.
I wish a savvy reporter (I know, I miss LS and wish she could be brought back on the Suzanne case !) could play the 'good cop' and get him to open up.
Sorry for that reporter, though. :(

When BM posited that Suzanne may have met harm with (paraphrased) "...someone known to her" I had chills.
WHO was it, Barry ??????
Almost like a confession of sorts.

I'd imagine he may return to bury or move evidence.
Bet LE have their incognito eye on him.
What's the saying ?
"No rest for the wicked" ?
IMO.
IMO the “someone known...” angle was such a slimy attempt to blame one of his workers. I bet he offered that person up to LE as soon as they indicated they didn’t believe the bike ride story. Assuming it’s just another BS story, if LE checked it out and found nothing, would they tell him it was a dead end? It’s bad enough to falsely accuse someone to LE. Saying it publicly, and adding the prison record and meth addict aspects, is about as low as one can get. He better hope the people he’s publicly disparaged don’t go after him for damages. It would be such poetic justice if the money he’s been going after ends up into other people’s pockets.

Speaking of reporters...

BM has given several interviews and has declined to be recorded. I take that to mean he doesn’t want any video recorded and played on air. What’s he afraid of? Being recognized? Saying something that might be used against him in the future? Both?

Has anyone heard why LS stopped reporting on this case?

I don't know what it's called when you checkmate yourself, but I can sum it up in 26 seconds.

Fail.

Agree.
How to destroy or dissappear it (SM's phone) is a problem. AM says it last pinged in the home. Then what?

Barbecue it to a crisp? After marinating in peanut butter?

Lamlawindy: “I believe that CCSO does not at present have probable cause to believe that anybody committed a crime.”

MassGuy: “They just can’t yet prove the crime was murder, and Barry is responsible.”

Topppps: “I don't believe LE has the goods.”

A common theme shared by some of the most informed sleuthers.

One caveat though, “yet.”

I wouldn’t be shocked if I woke up tomorrow to news of an arrest. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this went on for months longer.

I’d be beyond stunned if this stretched much longer than that though. It’s just not a crime that lends itself to a clean getaway, body or not.

There are too many things to trap you in a planned crime, and I absolutely don’t believe this was in fact well planned.

A fake bike ride that law enforcement didn’t buy from the beginning, tells me that the screwups here are going to be tremendous.

His ridiculous alibi also provides a taste of what’s in store.

There are only so many days left of grilling peanut butter, going to the gym, hunting elk, buying and selling property, and not doing a damn thing to find his “kidnapped wife.”

One day, hopefully in the not too distant future, our boy will pull out of his driveway, prepared to go about his day.

Then they’ll light him up, and his days as a free man will be over.

I forgot about that interview and what a sleezeball Barry is. “JP served 9 years in prison.”

Of course people who (allegedly) serve prison time, are incapable of smelling chlorine.

Or something.

BBM:

Ha!

I don't know what they call it in chess, on account of chess is dumb.
But in hockey, when a player puts the puck in his own net, it's referred to as an "own goal."

We've seen numerous moronic killers (Frazee, Stauch, et al.) who've managed to rack up a sizable lead for their opponents before they even took to the court(room).

This case will be no exception.

Oddly enough, BM has never mentioned her phone. Really he's never mentioned any critical information which would be helpful in solving Suzanne's disappearance.

Barry has no legal moves left in his game of chess, he's at a stalemate - with LE, Suzanne's family, and the majority of folks like us that have followed this case. IMO~
