LE appeared to be reluctant participants in Andy’s search, almost as if they were dragged in. I thought LE is, and was in desperate need of a body?
I personally do believe she is deceased but unlike you alas I don’t know how or who may have been involved. That’s just LE being tricky. Wouldn’t want anyone to think it’s a homicide case. It would mess up the investigation.
But we’re not tricked, we know it was a murder, and we even know who did it. Right?

I do have this deep down feeling that AM might have said some things that LE did not want released such as SM being in contact with a friend (last known Social media contact about wedding), home smelling like bleach, elk antlers by the home. I think these are things LE wanted held close to the vest. I can imagine they were not happy when these things were released to the public by AM.LE appeared to be reluctant participants in Andy’s search, almost as if they were dragged in. If it bothered LE it is probably more that it was rumor or insignificant like bleach smell during Covid in a home with a hot tub or had nothing to do with anything like the unprocessed elk rack. But all of it is really anyone’s guess.I do have this deep down feeling that AM might have said some things that LE did not want released such as SM being in contact with a friend (last known Social media contact about wedding), home smelling like bleach, elk antlers by the home. Although my opinion was the private search was a nightmare for LE, for AM not having any experience, especially in that terrain, organized his search very well. I felt very proud of him.
I thought LE was a good sport about all of it. They went to several locations flagged by the private searchers. They even dug up a site based on volunteer information and reviewed other items turned in. I’m glad they took this route instead of having a awkward showdown with AM and his volunteers. It was a tough situation. IMO
So glad you pointed out all this info, @Trackergd. Many folks just don’t realized what is involved in SAR missions. It is natural that people want to help, but it’s no walk in the park. And especially so when you’re dealing with dangerous terrain.Respectfully snipped.
I think you are spot on @K9Enzo. The other elephant in the room is logistical support. There is a ton of background activity associated with a search operation. Virtually all search managers and coordinators have taken and are certified in the FEMA Incident Command classes. It is all well and good to have a number of volunteer searchers, but the support for those searchers is extensive. Water, Food, Porta Potty staging and cleaning, Sleeping Shelters, Transport to and from the field. Map team to plot the search areas and the areas searched (and in some cases re-searched), Team Leaders with experience in leading untrained searchers, Medical Team for the searchers, Cooling or Heating stations for the searchers, High Angle Rescue on standby, Liaison Officer to coordinate with LE and Military, Public Relations Officer to communicate with the press, Site Security, Communications Team, Incident Commander and Deputy, Check in and Check out team to ensure no searcher is left in the field, Finance Manager to coordinate payment for the support items, and the list grows from there. Who pays for all this? In most cases the local municipality that may have it thrust upon them by well meaning family and friends of the victim, with little to no notice. The cost can be staggering to a small community municipal budget.

With all respect for AM and what he has said or not said, I believe AM has been utilized by investigators (and PE) both ways.
I think it's very much possible AM has made comments that are not accurate both unknowingly and with the full support of LE and/or his handler. Other than his declared love for his sister, I'm not banking on the statements about bleach smell, antlers, timeline, church camp, or 4pm-ish sandwich run being fact.
BM also made it a point to remind us that investigators can legally lie about details during an investigation (i.e., when referencing polygraph exam).
MOO.
It's true we don't have a lot of information confirmed by LE IMO. I have been reviewing the evidence in MacKenzie Lueck's case and the amount of forensics collected from her killers house, yard and car is astonishing. My hope is that there is a similar trail and we will be surprised at just how much there is for SM's killer too.So here we are, Suzanne disappeared almost seven months ago. Our W/S conversations are over 50 threads long.
What more do we really know now than on day one?
We still don’t know when SM was last seen. It might have been in town getting a sandwich on Saturday afternoon. But we don’t know who allegedly saw her. Might it have been a person wearing a wig in the passenger side of BM’s truck?
We really don’t know much about SM’s Saturday alleged phone/text/social media conversations either. We are assuming they were with a friend in IN, whose child was getting married. We really have no confirmation on that though. There is also a big discrepancy in the time frame of these conversations. Who knows the truth? It has crossed my mind that SM might have been really communicating with a DV support group member. If BM overheard that, it would not be good.
LE has been very tight lipped about the entire investigation. It appears they had a strong suspect in mind early on. They must have had very compelling evidence to support the SW request to take apart a concrete foundation at a site BM had recently done work.
I remember how many tips LE received in the first 24 hours. IMO many more than they would have received on any other random missing person’s case. It would be very interesting to know where the initial tips came from. Colorado, Indiana, current friends, former friends, business associates, family, members of their IN or CO church community, or from a DV group expressing concern for SM's well being.
I am hoping against hope things start to move forward in this case January 2021. The new DA knows this case will be high profile.
It boils down to this, either LE has a very strong envelope of evidence or they have a very good reason to keep this information private until charges are filed.
JMO, MOO,
Simply put, LE has one bite at the apple. Whether this is going to be a no-body case remains to be seen, but rushing to arrest and prosecute would be foolish. I've seen a lot of criticism directed towards Spezze on the internet, undeserved IMO. I have no doubt Suzanne will receive justice and this case is going to make one heck of a Dateline episode one day. I'm not so patiently waiting for action, but confident it will happen. What say you @MassGuy? February 2021?So here we are, Suzanne disappeared almost seven months ago. Our W/S conversations are over 50 threads long.

JMO, MOO,
bolding mineNarrative Timing
From the case beginnings there are what I think are indicators of multiple efforts to build and broadcast a false narrative. My thoughts keep returning to these. To me these speak volumes about a probable suspect. Here are some of what I see as probable narrative efforts:
All this MOO.
- before reported missing, communicating to neighbor to go back and look for her bike
- criticizing law enforcement from early on with the likes of "we was really upset that night..."
- apparent first-week family spokesman, TN, reinforcing the bike ride and recommending people ask LE about the condition of the bike
- Poncha Market activity and note, "baby blue bike helmet, biking clothing" (to me this was most likely part of the effort to build a narrative)
- the 26-second, "Oh, Suzanne" video, including the abduction focus
- the TD video that emphasizes theories about "the cat," bicycle accident, and abduction (my guess BM knew this was being recorded and was seizing the opportunity for further narrative building)
- heck, given the likelihood the bike was staged, guess that might even be part of the narrative effort
I think February would be the earliest we could see an arrest. The incoming DA probably needs some time to get all her ducks in a row. I’m just hoping to see something before the one year mark.Simply put, LE has one bite at the apple.
