I think February would be the earliest we could see an arrest. The incoming DA probably needs some time to get all her ducks in a row. I’m just hoping to see something before the one year mark.

BBM:

I think February is way too early to be looking for an arrest.

The new DA doesn't assume office until January.

I have no doubt that Sheriff Spezze will be devoting a lot of time to bringing the incoming DA up to speed on the case, but there's going to be a mountain of evidence for her to review.

And, barring a miracle, this is going to be a no-body case going before a jury at trial.

I think it's going to take the incoming DA at least several months to get her ducks lined up before she makes a determination about whether there's proof beyond a reasonable doubt that 1) SM was murdered and b) Who murdered her.

I also think the DA is going to need to be convinced that all reasonable efforts/avenues to locate SM have been exhausted before she moves ahead with a no-body prosecution.

If an arrest isn't made by the one year mark of the fictitious bike ride, then I'll start to wonder about the strength of the evidence LE has amassed. But not before then.

I think we should all be prepared to cool our jets here for the foreseeable.

The wheels of justice turn slowly.

But they grind exceedingly fine.

IMO without a body, an arrest just isn't going to happen at all. I have held out hope as long as I can, but quite honestly, if they had enough, they would have arrested already.

BBM:

Oh, I'm actually much more optimistic that we're going to see an arrest and murder charges filed in this case.

I fully believe that LE has gathered a plethora of evidence regarding SM's disappearance, and by disappearance here, I mean murder.

I think the reasons we haven't yet seen an arrest are primarily two-fold:

1) No body.

In no-body cases, as @MassGuy has pointed out, time tends to be a friend to the prosecutor.

As days turn into weeks, and weeks drag into months, with there being no sightings of SM, no contact with her, no digital/electronic activity which can be attributed to her, etc., it becomes more and more evident that SM is the victim of foul play.

The more time that elapses without any proof of life, the more unreasonable any "voluntary missing" scenario will become in juror's minds.

2) The current DA.

I've talked about this ad nauseam, but I think the current appointed DA is in large part the reason we haven't seen an arrest. She's not an experienced prosecutor, and a no-body case isn't one that an inexperienced prosecutor would likely relish cutting their teeth on.

I do think we're going to see an arrest at some point.

But I also think we're going to need to be patient.

I'd rather see the new prosecutor take her time to orient herself to the case, weigh the strength of the evidence, and conclude that the reasonable doubt threshold has been comfortably met, rather than see her rush in impetuously and file charges without having a full grasp of the situation first.

I do not think it is imminent, but I definitely do think an arrest is coming.

In the meantime, the guilty party will go to bed every night with the proverbial sword dangling over his head.

Sleep well!

It's true we don't have a lot of information confirmed by LE IMO. I have been reviewing the evidence in MacKenzie Lueck's case and the amount of forensics collected from her killers house, yard and car is astonishing. My hope is that there is a similar trail and we will be surprised at just how much there is for SM's killer too.
JMO

We found MacKenzie Lueck's murderer was a monster very early on.:(
Hoping the trail we receive for SM's killer, will also confirm many of our thoughts.o_O
We may be surprised or shocked, but must wait....

Narrative Timing
From the case beginnings there are what I think are indicators of multiple efforts to build and broadcast a false narrative. My thoughts keep returning to these. To me these speak volumes about a probable suspect. Here are some of what I see as probable narrative efforts:
  • before reported missing, communicating to neighbor to go back and look for her bike
  • criticizing law enforcement from early on with the likes of "we was really upset that night..."
  • apparent first-week family spokesman, TN, reinforcing the bike ride and recommending people ask LE about the condition of the bike
  • Poncha Market activity and note, "baby blue bike helmet, biking clothing" (to me this was most likely part of the effort to build a narrative)
  • the 26-second, "Oh, Suzanne" video, including the abduction focus
  • the TD video that emphasizes theories about "the cat," bicycle accident, and abduction (my guess BM knew this was being recorded and was seizing the opportunity for further narrative building)
  • heck, given the likelihood the bike was staged, guess that might even be part of the narrative effort
All this MOO.

I am going to add
BM was outside MG house at 4am on Sunday Morning and allegedly left his Puma path house at 5am. Clearly he was upto ‘something’ . Between 4am - 5am this would have given him enough time to go home & then leave for Bromfield. It is highly unlikely that he got up in the middle of the night to drive over to MGs house to call her from outside the gate.
Back track. The neighbor heard loud machinery at the construction site between 11pm-12pm. Some one was there. That would give a person approx 12pm-4am time frame to be out and about.

Looks like Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office re-pinned #suzannemorphew tip line and info to the top of their Facebook page again. Glad to see that they got my email and likely others about why they would take it down. #justice4Suzanne #FindSuzanne #BringSuzannehome

Of course, the two webcams facing opposite directions at Anderson Motors / Rocky Mountain Jeep Rentals on Highway 50 (Rainbow Blvd) should have caught every leg of his early morning travels, in both directions. They seem to be REALLY clear, for traffic cams. IMO

Andy did say on Dr. Phil, that Suzanne and Barry were spotted in town getting sandwiches at around 4pm on Saturday.

That formed at least part of his reasoning for his theory that she was murdered in the hours after that.

What we do not know though, is where this information came from, and if it is in fact accurate. Earlier in this case we had information as to Suzanne’s last communications with a friend, but the timing of those communications changed on multiple occasions.

So I’m skeptical as to the sandwich story.

Suzanne Morphew’s brother shares new details about her last known sighting and strange activity on his sister’s Facebook page hours before she was reported missing
I'm very skeptical as well about the sighting of Suzanne and Barry in town on Saturday. All I've seen is one of the crew who gave an interview, say that he had talked with Barry in town on Saturday afternoon and Barry told him about the job on Mother's Day. I wish this guy would confirm if Suzanne was with Barry.

Didn't she say she saw him alone? In the town..
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought that MG said that apparently Barry went shopping in town on Saturday afternoon. Not that she saw him. I do however remember that the male crew member who gave the interview stated that he talked with Barry in town on Saturday afternoon. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Having a hard time right now. Lost a dear friend to covid this morning. Hard day.

Saturday is still murky to me IMO
So sorry about the Covid loss

I can't imagine why the CCSO would take down the SM notice and tip-line from their FB page..... Didn't they just make a public plea for information related to Suzanne's possible SM communications?

I must be missing something, does the Emperor have no clothes?

The post was always there, but it was no longer pinned to the top of the page.

Personally, I don’t think it’s a big deal at this point. It’s not as if that number is hard to find, and the sheriff’s office is putting out monthly updates.

Regardless, it’s back up at the top now, which can’t hurt.

BBM:

Frankly, that's just plain irritating.

Stating that the CCSO "took down" the tip line info was flat out misleading.

This isn't the only cheap, backhanded shot that LS has taken at LE lately.

I ain't a fan.

Where's Sam Kramer when you need him?

Sam was never snarky toward LE.

Just saying.

I'd be sticking them up again all over town, every town the 'disappearer' is likely to visit so they are all he sees..
In every shop, filling station, supermarket ..all of it again and again, using different photographs from differing time frames..
(I'm spiteful, like that)

Your memory matches my memory as well. Hopefully, as Dave pointed out, his movements were caught by cameras.

I'm so sorry that you lost a friend.

Foolish of her, if so.
When this case breaks somebody else will get the scoops. And rightly so.

Do we figure out the truth about what night the elderly neighbor heard the noise? I believe that the interview said that MG “thought” she heard Barry’s truck. I would assume if he left town at 4 instead of 5 or 5:30 that he claims LE knows this. It feels off to me for Barry to say he left at 5 instead of 4. Why not just say he left at 4 a.m.? That is just one thing that has bothered me in the MG claims.
