My money is betting his attorney's have advised him to hire PR for advice.

Image is everything.........................

ETA - Stand by, I'm sure much more is coming.

That was my first thought too.

He has an attorney, the attorney has advised PR. That's what came to my mind.

Maybe Suzanne isn't dead?

I can't answer that, but as someone who has worked with criminal defense attorneys and their PR teams, I would submit that first you have to pay a fee, consult the attorney (and it has to be an attorney will a full stable of helpers), and then...if you wished to keep from using up your retainer, follow their advice and do your own PR?

I've seen that happen a few times, although never with any outcome that the defendant could call "good."

We are just speculating. Has BM consulted an attorney? Retained one? We don't know. Maybe he has amateur help and they told him the optics were looking bad.

Someone upthread said that maybe he just couldn't do this, before. His first attempt at PR (the 27 second video) was not all that successful. Maybe he now has different advisors.

OTOH, maybe he's working through his own issues. I don't know him, I can't say.

Oh, I thought you said "He has an attorney, the attorney has advised PR"

Just quoting myself. BMB. These were just my first thoughts. Trust me, if we had approved MSM to say that BM had an attorney, I'd mention it.

My spontaneous thoughts are just that.

Odd timing.

Yeah, it really makes absolutely no sense at all. I have a lot of questions here, and this poses yet another.

Why now, and not 7 months ago? What has changed?

..maybe the lack of leaks made him agitated and he possibly feels he has lost control of the narrative and decided to become pro-active, he might even go so far as to attempt to organise a new search...?

Perhaps this is family pressure - finally? And I don’t mean her side ...

I swear he watches the YT videos and takes in what is said about him and runs with it. Moo

Re the mountain lion theory, moot, I know, I started wondering whether perhaps her remains were disposed of at a location , nearby(ish) known to be frequented by mountain lions?

It’s such a sharp deviation from his previous behavior. He made news when he was responding to news (his employees’ interviews), but he didn’t go out of his way to generate his own.

I guess today was a newsworthy day anyways, as all anniversaries are, but we didn’t see this behavior during all those other anniversaries.

He did irreparable harm from the beginning, when he failed to do what everyone else does when a loved one is missing. Doing this now doesn’t fix that, and won’t silence his critics.

Most family members of a missing person want that noise, and do everything they can to draw media and public attention. Look no further than Vanessa Guillen’s family, the Smart’s, Mollie Tibbetts father, and Kelsey Berreth’s mother.

That sort of thing is quintessentially human.

We saw a fleeting blip of that here, and then nothing. So I’m at a loss as to why we’re seeing this now, and why apparently little to no effort was made to publicize this effort.

If the motive is bringing Suzanne home, then why not pick up the phone and speak to the media, or at least draw more attention to today’s anniversary?

It’s almost as if the media found out about this accidentally.

Strange.

BBM, I think we may see him trying to do an interview or speaking out...

BM has ONLY publicly spoken about MG to reporter Lauren Scharf. In the videos linked below, LS claims that she has had three separate phone conversations with him, with the one that she specified a time span for being 30 minutes. The total of all of three videos, including the anchor lead-ins and information not directly quoted from BM, is 14 minutes 33 seconds. How can it be deduced that “at no point does he dispute what she told Lauren” when a clear majority of the interviews was not revealed?
IMO

Because no one believes a reporter as good as she is would omit such a denial from her news report. It didn’t happen. (IMO).

He intentionally drew focus onto himself as if to say, “Look at me doing something positive and constructive while LE does nothing.” The good guy approach is a strategy that Barry has never tried. Maybe he realized or someone made him realize that the bad guy approach hasn’t been effective, at least not with the public.
