Let's see...If a husband sells or rents or gets rid of a (missing) spouse's property and does nothing to find that spouse for seven months and then suddenly starts handing out "Missing" flyers on the 7th month, what message is the spouse trying to send and to whom?

I think that the spouse may be trying in a most clever way to keep the public and police second guessing themselves...I bet most are thinking, "Hmmm...Maybe, she is just missing..."

Of course, I'm not one who is falling for it. It's a day late and a dollar short. His squaring away of his finances first and foremost and doing nothing to find his wife speak volumes to me.

IMO the husband knows the “whereabouts” of SM, and he didn’t even attempt to show fake concern for his missing wife on day one-certainly wasn’t passing out flyers in those first hours and days when just about everyone on the planet knows are the most crucial, and time is of the essence!!, so it really does beg the question: why NOW? (right-too little, too late; that ship has sailed etc.) IMO it’s because *ulterior motives*, there could be many, but playing with LE and the public, messing with us, trying to keep us second guessing ourselves, could be, certainly wouldn’t put it past this arrogant husband, and/or putting on a show for his friends and family members.

Nope, I’m not falling for it either.

Every interview and action is a response to something.

We had those interviews in which he accused those employees of being “meth heads,” which followed their interviews with the media.

When the media picked up on Andy’s search efforts, Barry responded by ridiculing it.

When Andy cast aspersions on Barry, Barry responded in kind.

When Barry approached Andy’s group with a gun, he responded to the backlash by allowing them on his property.

When it was revealed that he was selling his home, he conducted an interview in which he released those love letters and explained why he was selling.

What he was responding to when he handed out flyers yesterday, we can only guess.

Thanks, Dave F. Good article to explain the requirements in seeking a change of venue. It is much harder than I thought to obtain. If an impartial jury can't be empaneled, then the defense would file a motion for change of venue.

Also found this nugget from your article:

"Changes of Venue will most likely occur – if at all – when there is a high level of publicity in the original district where the crimes are alleged to have occurred, but not much publicity in other neighboring districts to which the case could be transferred. Cases of local and intense prejudicial publicity – especially in the smaller jurisdictions are most likely to fit this profile."

I think what he is referring to is the mathematical consequence of having a lot of local news coverage diluting the already precariously tiny pool of available jurors; the consequence of which is a change of venue to the nearest demographically similar county.

In our modern world, we all get our news from the same sources; and we all use the same social media platforms. Simply ask yourself...........have the people of Chaffee county been slammed with a different volume of news of this case than neighboring Fremont county?

Is there any reason why the trial would be fairer in Fremont county than Chaffee county?

I wonder what happens when dissatisfied/disillusioned Gimme donors report suspected misuse of funds.

Not saying anyone has in this case, but I've definitely wondered about that possibility.

If I'd made a contribution, I'd be beyond incensed right now at the lack of transparency.

Does anyone think it's remotely possible that BM has filed for permanent guardianship in Colorado and the court has advised him he needs to demonstrate he's made sufficient efforts to locate her before they'll sign off on permanent guardianship?

Given the fact that he filed for permanent guardianship of SM back in Indiana, I would fully expect him to do the same in Colorado.

Especially since SM's Puma Path house went on the market.

I would like to believe, BM has nothing to do with the disappearing of his wife. It would be bad enough, if she disappeared at all. But he did so many things, which made thinking, at least he knew something important and didn't try to clear it to/with police. Can't be, that he is 100% innocent, didn't know anything AND behaved in the way, he did. Can't be, can't be, can't be, MOO. NOBODY needs an alibi, if he did "nothing wrong". And that the Broomfield job is smelling of an alibi, is obvious.

Interesting fact about the Broomfield CO incident.
I, just this week, had contact, work related with someone in Broomfield.
Of course, I, being the nosy person I am and a true crime addict just had to ask the person I was working with there, if they heard of this case.
well, yes, she had heard of Suzanne gone missing but thought that was solved and asked me where they found her. YIKES.
So then I said--NO...she has not been found..and apparently her hubby was in Broomfield the day she went missing.
and the response was... .... Oh, I didn't know that.
UGH... I was hoping for some local gossip or anything and got nothing.

Frankly, I'm impressed that BM distributed the official LE flyers at the Safeway.

He must not have kept a copy of his carefully crafted "Baby blue bike helmet biker clothing" BOLO notice.
You know, the one that made no mention of his missing wife on it.
(A simple oversight on his part, I'm sure).

Anyway, nice to see him pulling out all the stops now.

It's amazing what 33k in Gimme $$$$ will buy you.

The liquor store is 1.6 miles from Safeway. Keep in mind that Salida is a very small town and Hwy 50 is the main thoroughfare with the most traffic.
For some reason I don’t think BM is the one funding this.
