Why Trail Cam's Then?
... Seems odd to have a million dollar plus house, a 100K auto, your threatened family isolated, living in a rural area and zero protection when it was readily available. Not even a $20 dollar a month landline. But 5 months later, when no one was supposedly living there, the means and need to suddenly to hang trail cameras?
@Murphy1950 bbm sbm Yes, interesting point.
May 2020..... SM disappears.
Sept. 2020.... Trail cam's are installed at property.
Btwn those two times, were other sec./surv cam's installed or made operable, if they were not working in early May?

OTOH, some ppl who vacate their homes for a long or an unknown time period may install or update security cam's at their houses (inside or outside or both) for the sake of --- well, security. In that part of CO, wildlife like bear and deer have been known to crash thru windows. And other types of wildlife, like teens/college kids, can turn an empty house into a party house, causing similar damage. Or worse. Or squatters.

But the actual timing here re trail cam's seems suspicious. my2ct.

Today’s Sherlock Award goes to Hoss 569!

Hoss raised this question:

Why, when he allegedly feared his wife was missing, didn’t Barry himself call 911 or the cops?

Well, for that matter - did Barry even try to call Suzanne when the girls could not get ahold of her?

Great point, STG ! ^^^

What IF ... he never actually called her that entire day --- even if he told LE that he tried to get in touch with Suzanne ?
My .02 is that LE seemed to think all was not as it seemed from the same day they arrived at the Morphew home.
What raised their suspicions ?
I still can't get past sheriff Spezze's words, "... we hope he continues to cooperate.".
Those words had to rankle in BM's mind.
But again if a person wishes to be cleared they can tell LE everything and be honest about where they went that day and the night before, what job they were doing, why there weren't the correct tools for the job when the employees arrived, etc.
MOO.

I don't know how relevant the information may be in regards to Suzanne's case. However, this Nov 16, 2016 news article discusses a 1980 case of a murdered woman, Beverly England, whose skeleton was not found for years. Her ID was confirmed via DNA in 2015. It happened in the same District that Sheriff Speeze governs at Alpine Park.

The ADA Molly Chilson has since resigned. She refused to call a GJ for BE's murder due to the cost involved and then from her assessment of the lack of evidence. The Sheriff told her in Nov 2016 that it'd take about 6 months for the GJ to hear all of the evidence.
Beverly England case turns 40
So, I am guessing we should be happy she has Resigned and there is a new DA in office. YIKEs.
I hope LE is just gathering all kinds of forensic evidence and testing and re-testing as they only get one chance at this so I can wait patiently while they gather info.

We don't know whether he tried to call Suzanne directly, AFAIK. The police have released nothing on that topic. Back at the beginning of this disappearance, many of us speculated whether BM would remember to do such things as call Suzanne on Sunday, or whether he would remember to have a Mother's Day card and/or gift to leave for her before he left for work on Sunday (IF he had engineered her disappearance). We don't know any of this, and the cops don't want to alert BM, obviously. MOO.

look at how long it takes to even bring someone to trial these days?! ARREST HIM NOW! Chafee county still has 1-2 years before a trial would even begin! fff
While I would love to finally see him arrested, we need to patiently wait.
LE /Prosecutor only gets ONE chance.
I am ok to wait until they have enough evidence to get proof he is guilty.
We don't want to take any chances of any reasonable doubt.

Yes. I’m frustrated with the silence. We are all frustrated. But I am taking Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office at their word.

<BBM>:

Nov 10
While specific case information is not available, Sheriff Spezze assures residents the case remains a priority. “To preserve the integrity of this investigation, we cannot reveal all we have learned nor all that we are doing, but we understand your frustration in wanting this case resolved quickly. That said, with each day that passes, we learn new information in this case.”

Sept 3
As with any investigation our responsibility and priority is to determine the facts and maintain the integrity of the investigation. Our sole focus is either finding Suzanne or determining the circumstances behind her disappearance and the only way to do this is to keep the information gathered as the result of this investigation under seal. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, CBI, FBI and the 11th Judicial District continue to devote our resources to this investigation. Not one day has passed since Suzanne was reported missing that our investigative team has not been focused on Suzanne Morphew. Our investigative team is committed to releasing information to the public ONLY when it is in the best interest of Suzanne Morphew and this investigation.

Actions speak louder than words. 10 to 1 he has an attorney.

I am a 'give me a circumstantial case any day' kind of person. I think circumstances such a as sales receipts or cctv is better sometimes than a full confession given by a nutcase, no offense to nut cases. Nothing's more concrete than a receipt for purchasing special additives such as lime, perhaps, from a store that also shows on cctv the purchase of a shovel, by example.

We know the trained dogs hit on the tree planted by Barry. That is circumstantial evidence.

If LE suspects foul play, surely his cell phone records have been subpoenaed. This subpoena would need to encompass a narrow time frame, in order to satisfy the Judge.
With cooperative Big Tech *cough*, LE may have her cell phone records, as well.

Do they not have access to Suzanne's social media accounts yet? Surely warrants for access to all of her social media accounts have been issued. I do hope everyone who had contact with Suzanne has notified Sheriff John A. Spezze, per his request.

Anyone with information that could assist law enforcement in locating Suzanne Morphew is encouraged to call 719-312-7530.

you wouldn’t get a “not guilty” verdict, necessarily. A hung jury, perhaps..
Still bad, IMO
We dont want a "not Guilty" nor a Hung jury.

Same here, just WS for me. I appreciate the content restrictions here so very much. Keeps the discussions rational.

(Sorry to be off-topic, but what other cases are you following here on WS? I need to be occupied while we wait for justice in this case. Thanks!)
Just cases Ive been following ....
Libby and Abby (Delphi Case), Jason Landry, Alan White, Alexis Sharkey, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, Angela Morrisey.
Just to name a few. There are quite a lot on WS to follow and try to help with.

Ok hear me out, since we are tossing around alternate theories: What if there really is someone else (a person, a group, etc) that BM knew was a threat to his entire family. What if he discussed it with SM (maybe this trouble wasn’t new and they were brainstorming ways to get out of it). What if BM was told in advance that he had until that wknd to come up with money or goods/supplies etc to fix the problem or else. What would you do if you can’t involve the police? You’d send your children away where it’s safe, for starters. What if by Fri BM knew he couldn’t come up with whatever was needed to call off the dogs. Is he a brave guy who’d send his wife away too and face the music alone? Or would he realize what was about to happen and cowardly and frantically come up with a work emergency to remove himself from the house and have an “alibi” since he knows he’ll be suspect #1. Would he stage the scene and remove any evidence of what happened when he got home so no one would be blamed and his remaining family would be safe (payment was made)? How do we know he called from far away to the neighbor? Did this all happen under cover of darkness, he got notified and ran home to clean, then left again to call in SM missing? I know this is far-fetched and the likelihood is what we have all thought for 11 months now. But in the event that he’s covering for someone else, could this scenario be possible? I’d say IMO but it isn’t my opinion. It’s just a what if.

I have no idea where the link is, but I seem to recall BM stating, (likely to LS), that he did call Suzanne on Mother's Day and it went to VM. I believe he also said he then texted her, also without an answer. Of course all those calls/texts will be on the phone records, along with where he actually was when he was calling/texting anyone, on Mother's Day. Suzanne, the girls, the neighbor, buddy GD, and anyone else.

11 months today since Suzanne vanished. A beautiful soul captured the hearts of thousands around the world that want her to be found, brought home to her family so she can be laid to rest properly, and for her to receive the justice she so rightfully deserves.

Hoping and praying LE are close to resolution, responsible party(s) apprehended, and ultimately,
justice is served.

Beautiful Suzanne, you will never be forgotten.

Respectfully Snipped.

This was the quote that got me wondering as well. Taking out BM is way too direct and LE would be all over it asking who had something to gain. A long established family contracting business "could" see BM as a threat, or one could speculate that BM is into providing "something else" that a criminal element considers a direct threat to "business".

What stands out in the quote is "got saved from this" and "this thing". BM knows what this "thing" is, but so far has not elaborated. And if this "thing" happened, and BM is innocent, why was the bike and helmet left laying around for LE to find? Why would SM think it was "worth it"?

"Things" don't leave large pieces of evidence like the bike and helmet, people do. So what is this "thing"?

"Come Watson, come! The game is afoot!"

“This thing” is his tangled web of woven deceit.

Leaving her to a contract killer would be M1.

What you say is true -- BM said he called and texted SM. But WE don't know that for sure. The cops know, but they're keeping quiet. The cops will also know if BM left any Mother's Day cards/gifts for SM -- but WE don't know anything, unfortunately. MOO.

We can only utilize MSM and verified sources for information and research. I’ve seen nothing in the news regarding BM’s residence status. Hope that helps.
MOO
Yes, thank you!!! I guess I was just hoping someone had flushed him out of his hiding hole.

Agreed.
I think we know maybe a 10th of what LE know ... by now.
It gives me hope !

I went back and listened to MG’s interview. She stated that he was outside her house at 4am. If you have other information that may be important, as in my opinion between 11pm (possible machinery noise) and 5am (when he left SM sleeping) were critical times during the event and or coverup.
