I thought the 100 searchers were all LE of some sort, no "citizens/public" helping. I could be wrong.
I think they called for dogs from the DOC and search and rescue personnel which I believe happen to be mostly local area volunteers.

Does anyone know what the husband's first name is? Reason I ask is that a certain Mr. Morphew's mother passed away in Dec 2018, and his father in 2005. This Mr. Morphew is married to a Suzanne. I'm wondering whether a sizable inheritance was left to him, that would possibly explain the access to funds to purchase expensive property and quickly be able to offer a sizable award.
Is it possible that someone is jealous, or that there was a failed plan (or not) for ransom? May also explain LE's and family's silence.
Just thinking out loud.

Barry

I find that interesting, because the colleges and universities in my neck of the world have all been closed and students have been sent home to finish out their semesters online.

I have a friend with a kid attending a state college in CO, and they also closed up their brick and mortar classrooms well over a month ago.

They've already announced they're doing online for the fall. --so yeah not open.

Also, her last picture (which is recent) is tagged in a different state along with the sister's last picture.

Damn another beautiful woman disappeared....grrrrrr!

I get so worn down by the stories of the Jennifer's, Kelsey's, Mollie's, Barbara's, Kenzie's, Samantha's and so very many others just out there living their lives and becoming victims. Not fair.

Holding out hope for Suzanne!

I want to be hopeful. But the realistic side of my brain is droning on that it won't end well.

The girls obviously don't live at home now and are doing their own thing, so not a requirement during this time to return to their family place.

As of a few days ago, one daughter was in Utah and the other Idaho it would appear.

There are certainly some oddities in this case:
1) A neighbor notices that SM doesn’t come back from her bike ride. It sounds like the neighbor knew SM left sometime that Sunday for the ride but didn’t see SM come back. I don’t suspect the neighbor but I’m curious about this.
2) The husband has to be out of town for work on a Sunday, Mother’s Day.
3) Her two children were not home apparently.
4) A $100k reward for as posted very quickly.
5) Searches are conducted but LE is not asking for volunteers.
Something else I noticed that was a bit odd to me is the immediate full scale search by LE for an adult female who was missing for a couple of hours.

I wonder if SM had a distinctive bike and the neighbor recognized it lying along the road and called the sheriff?

From Google Earth it looks like only the Morphew home and one other home is in that immediate area.

The first photo below shows the Morphew home circled in red and the neighbors home circled in blue.

The 2nd photo shows the intersection (HWY 50 & Co. Rd. 225) where LE have the road blocked off and the red pin is the Morphew home.
Brilliant --thank you @osu

I pointed that out yesterday. It wasn't even dark when they reported her missing.

There was one news report I linked upthread that quoted the Sheriff as saying "we think she went missing that day". I was like huh, what do you mean you think?
The only thing that made sense was, her husband was out of town and so were her kids. So unless she was speaking or texting with someone, and hadn't heard from her in a while, how would they know? Was her car in the driveway? Did she tell someone she was going riding? Were the neighbors perhaps expecting her over for a BBQ Sunday?

Or my other thought was that hubby called the neighbor to go check on her because she wasn't getting back to him. The story evolved from there ...

This is my thought, the daughters/husband couldn't get a hold of her, so one of them might have dialed the neighbors to see if they could check on her since they weren't close by.

Maybe the neighbor was like oh I saw her biking earlier today, etc. Or perhaps she mentioned a bike ride to someone, or they're just speculating a bike ride as it was something she could have done often?

News interview on the phone with the sheriff.

When Colorado Channel 2 reporter asked Mr. Morphew if he’s interested in making a public plea, Mr. Morphew said “at this point it’s simply too soon”.

Family: Suzanne Morphew's Husband Offers $100,000 Reward In Disappearance Investigation

On Wednesday, Sheriff John Spezze told CBS4 while it’s an open investigation, he would not rule out a criminal investigation. He adds the probability of an animal attack is not very high.

The FBI and Colorado Bureau of Investigations are now involved.

A neighbor first reported Morphew missing. Family says her husband was out of town on a trip to Denver at the time.

Spezze would not confirm whether they had found her bike.

Colorado mom, 49, vanishes after setting out on a Mother's Day bike ride | Daily Mail Online
"...Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze told The New York Post that the search is being treated as 'an open criminal investigation'.
He did not disclose whether Morphew's husband, Barry, was cooperating with police..."

bolding mine

Well that's discouraging.
Maybe just poor wording in the article ?
Although hubby has offered a reward.

Is there any chance that Suzanne left with someone else and wanted to go away of her own volition ?
I'm surprised that they used SAR dogs and found nothing.... if she left riding a bike there should have been a scent to follow.
Hoping she is found and it all will be figured out soon !

I wonder how her health was? She appears to be in great shape. Could she have experienced a medical emergency and is laying off road waiting to be found?

- I found the hubs IG page - he was boasting his love for her and how amazing he believes her to be, and stated she has survived two rounds of cancer.

BB and Italicized by me: the husband has been described as being on a trip out of town and in some articles described as working out of town. Really would like to know if his trip was work related or not.

The behavior surrounding this feels like "closing ranks". Backgrounds suggest it, but just my opinion.

Uhhh what?! Too soon?!! She will be missing four nights if they don't find her this evening. I'm a little miffed at that comment ... it sort of contradicts the 100k reward he offered?

I find this odd. Suzanne is reported missing, at what 6pm, when it's still light, and who knows if she went for a long ride or visited a friend.....then a $100K reward is offered 2 days later. That's fast, yet husband says "it's too soon to make a plea?" At this point I do not suspect anything nefarious about the husband, but I wonder if there's something he knows (or suspects) that's left unsaid. This is so sad.
