If they think this virus is airborne, that scares the heck out of me.

IMO the airborne aspect speaks to being in close contact as somebody coughs/sneezes in your immediate space. Based on science I have followed.

Apparently, some do not understand the stay-in-place. Friend just posted that family took at 45 mile scenic drive, then went bicycling. Guess they thought it was all okay if they bicycled. How do you explain?

Is the stay in place order defined as stay inside? It seems like that would be too restrictive if so.

I have plenty of friends who are out biking, walking, hiking. They do it alone of course. My oldest went up the river and went fossiling. Yesterday she timed her self walking over the big local bridge and back. Getting out and doing something is healthy as long as you’re not congregating.

I’m dumbfounded that people are still going to the beach here in FL. The electronic signs on I-75 even say the beaches are closed.

I was hoping this would be seasonal at first, but honestly maybe it’s better if it’s not? Maybe it’s better if it continues into the summer and we are able to combat it in a continuous timeline (and kick it’s butt!) instead of it disappearing over the summer and we just wait for it to return? I don’t really know.

We're now under stay at home orders in Maryland effective 8 pm tonight. Not sure how much this really changes for us, we're still allowed to go out for essential groceries/supplies/medical needs. My husband and ex (my daughter lives with him) are still essential so it doesn't really affect them. Does mean my daughter will continue to be home alone at her dad's house, the consequences of her choice to go to Ft. Lauderdale for a week when schools closed, which resulted in her being banned from our house for at least 14 days from her return. A shame since it's her last year at home and I'm home now too so it would've been nice to be together...

Yes, we are.

We have our first positive case today. That means we have 100s of unknown cases.

Our local physicians have tested about 20 total. They've been great to give news interviews and help prepare us.

Were are small town, hit by job loss due to NAFTA. Most had to start new careers. This is a blessing.

I don't know which would be better, either. I was hoping it would die down during summer so people on front lines could recharge and hopefully by fall, we would have a vaccination or something that would combat it!

The President describe it as "a 70,000 ton of hope and solidarity."

The ship will house non-coronavirus patients from hospitals around the NYC area in order to free up hospital space for those that are sick from the virus.

I asked because even a lot of shelter in place has provisions for outdoor exercise. Bicycle riding being perfectly acceptable. It was a completely innocent question.

Yes, of course it was... I remain eager to hear what is going on and where it is going on....it helps put so many things in perspective. Vigilante group in Maine, dozens of cruise ships all over the coast of Florida (just found this out today!) and blissfully rejecting directions in rural states is going to influence us all. In the end...we are ONE country, and I hope we can convince larger folks in minimally populated areas to realize this.
