Decorah, IA - Bald Eagle Cam: Watch the babies! #2

  • #181
baby pulled itself out there and was so exhausted by the efforts has been napping ever since. Methinks it got a little ambitious and now is not strong enough to get back towards the middle. Dad, in frustration, shifted position and sat on it a while ago. He has since moved back off it.

Wow, Dad was feeding the other two and offering to baby 3, but it could barely keep it's head up, let alone eat. Poor thing.

Ohm, no...I think that's Sassy near the edge...definitely looks like the largest one when you see them all. I think I'm going to have to stop watching this or I'll have some type of breakdown before 12 weeks. Move in...move in!

We need a huge net under this nest.

I am nervous as a cat watching this thing edge ever closer to the edge of the nest. Get that baby back into the main nest!!!

ETA I agree, it seems to be the largest one, so that would mean sassy, firstborn.

Be careful little miss independance!! get back in there!

Omg, me too. Thank God it just turned the other way! I hope he's hungry by next feeding and makes his way back over near the center.

  • #187
Wow...no one on the nest?

  • #188
I saw sassy eat really well during a feeding earlier in the day. Lets hope by the next she's energetic to crawl back in there and participate. She seems to be the little envelope pusher. I like her moxy but man oh man she is freakin me out with these forays to the edge!

  • #189
yeah, definately thats sassy. Where'd mom and dad go? Never seen the nest untended before??

ETA NM musty have been off camera. whew.

this is nerve wracking, lol.

They all ate well earlier, including Finally. We have how many weeks of this? Lol.

Well, whoever was just on the nest (dad)? was calling out quite a bit, so it must have signaled change time.

Maybe that was Mom...this one looks smaller?

I wonder if the adults instinctively pull the softer material away from the sides to discourage the babies from going far from the center?

Check out the eyes .. if it looks like they're wearing eyeliner, it's Dad. LOL

Cool youtube video on how to tell the difference.

Ok so I know that those babies aren't the heaviest of things ... is there any possiblity of them being blown out of the nest while they're not under the parents? =*(
