I believe the emergency travel document that Joshua Riibe obtained from the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic is only a special travel document that let him return back to the United States. I don't think it can be used to travel to another country again at a later date.

Even if he were to get another passport in the future, he may have difficulty getting a visa from a foreign country if he wanted to visit another foreign country.

My guess is he won't be leaving the US anytime soon, if ever. Very scary to travel internationally

The more I research, the more I'm seriously wondering if she was taken from the beach. We don't 100% know if they were in the water right?
Thoughts and opinions?

Didn''t they party at a different resort that night?

I'm not sure. I thought it was at their same resort. I just think we have to look at the possibility she was taken. I'm not sure if the beach was safe at night. I can't imagine my college freshman walking from the beach to the room alone. Just brainstorming the big "if" she encountered something or someone if she even headed back to her room

Amanda Knox vibes.... travel is supposed to such a good experience for young people but...

Yes. I really think that things have changed. It is quite sobering to see how things can happen, and you really are at the mercy of a foreign government.

Actually, consuming too much tequila, like other alcoholic beverages, can induce vomiting due to the irritation of the stomach lining and the body's attempt to eliminate the alcohol.
Vomiting young adults kissing-sounds like loads of fun. not

In this Fox 5 Washington video, it's stated that Riibe testified that SK's parents hugged him before they left, and that they thanked him for trying to save their daughter. With no corroboration of his account whatsoever (at least not that's been publicly released), that's surprising to me.
Although it may seem odd to many people, they likely have a strong belief in their faith and we also don’t know what they may know as it relates to the investigation that may have helped them come to this conclusion so quickly. My heart breaks for them, especially as I know what it is like to lose a child. But I am so impressed by their strength and graciousness, especially towards JR. If he truly is innocent of any wrongdoing, their kindness may go so far in helping him deal with this and I hope it inspires him to carry that kindness, graciousness and forgiveness forward throughout the rest of his life - as we all should. We could all learn from them. And I am also very impressed by the way JR and his family have been during this horribly tragic time. Prayers and strength to both families.

If she headed to her room she would take her garments and shoes with her.

I wonder if Josh will be traveling to any more foreign countries?!
Well. I for one wonder if Josh will be getting shitface drunk any more. And if he will be looking for intimacy from other females while his gf is waiting at home.

I hope this incident was a wake-up call for this young man about his life choices.
I also really hope that no other females around her vanish while he is drunk (and after he saves them from some other deadly threat). That would not be a good look at all.

they cannot cover J's whereabouts when he says he was on the beach sleeping. I think that is where the gap lies.
Yes this is what gets me.
how did no one see him passed out on the beach

Been following this case for a few days now. I keep coming back to the Venmo to "A New User." It is my understanding that this payment was made to someone without an active Venmo account, so whoever this is never received the funds SK sent.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that the intended recipient has been identified and cleared?

Snipped from the article you posted:
The prosecutor’s office informed Riibe it was prepared to return his passport Wednesday, according to Santana. “Although grateful for the Prosecutor’s Office’s decision, Joshua decided, for privacy reasons, to apply for a new one at the U.S. Consulate, which was issued urgently,” Santana said
Very puzzling, there is more to that story. The US consulate would have been in communication with law enforcement so that they didn't issue him a passport that allowed him to flee. If release of his passport was imminent then why issue a new one.

Because they wanted to get the hell out of dodge as quickly as possible.
Waiting for the release of his original passport would have detained them for another day or two -imho

I suspect that the DR authorities probably would have arrested him on an unrelated charge had he risked going to a DR police station to retrieve his passport back.

Exactly!
