How common is it for someone to commit suicide by drowning themselves?. I cant imagine two people deciding to choose that way to go. I know when i was going through dark years that drowning was never even contemplated.

IMO:
I can see jumping off a bridge or cliff especially if one can't swim but walking into water or jumping off of a bank into the water I see as dicey.
Going under the water and when you first can't breath I think the bodies initial response would be panic and striving for air so you'd try to surface.
There's the rock theory but unless these rocks were somehow secured in their clothing, and that clothing was secured on them they could be taken out of pockets etc to allow you to surface.
I still can't see 2 people, no matter how close doing this at the same time successfully.

The bigger question if their bodies are recovered, which most likely we'll never get an answer to, is what was so horrific about their lives that they agreed that committing suicide was their only way out?
Nothing about the 2 women's actions makes sense to me, not that it is expected.

Yes, followed since beginning. They weren’t reported to be picked up on those cameras though so it’s. It confirmed they made it that far. The boat club has significant cameras, unsure of level of functioning

That’s not what I’m asking though - once off of the bank, they still would have had to walk out. It’s not a drop. So they would have had to walk out until they could be under if drowning was their plan.

Just an update, nothing new but police still appealing for anyone who has seen them to come forward. The way it is worded, could mean at the time of the known CCTV sightings or since. Makes sense of course

Not necessarily. The coroner for Nicola Bulley explained how she likely drowned in seconds, and the water wasn’t particularly deep there.

There is no evidence the 45-year-old had "any desire" to take her own life, a coroner concludes.

Maybe the publicity surrounding Nicola’s case led the sisters to believe that people might think their disappearance was a tragic accident too. Just a thought.

They would have checked local cctv to look for any signs of the sisters moving around or leaving the area. But I don’t believe they would assign full teams to scrutinise footage further afield once they had eliminated any sightings from that vicinity. Different story if they believed a crime had been committed.

But again, we don’t know - we can only speculate.

I dont believe they would scrutinise cameras from further afield either. I didn't allude to that.

If the women had read information about Nicola Bullet and that she drowned in seconds ,then it might have made them select going to the river rather than another method .

I think that's what happened in the Gaynor Lord case. Apparently she told a friend she wanted to be like Nicola Bulley.

What I'm struggling with is the 2:12 AM timeline.
Were they just leaving the flat at 2:12 AM?
Or were they walking toward the Victoria bridge at 2:12 AM?
Did they text the landlady at 2:12 AM?
Did they turn onto the footpath at 2:12 AM?

2:12 AM seems to be the only solid timeline for January 7, 2025.
They can't be in all places at once (flat, walking towards the bridge, on the bridge, stop to text the landlady, turning onto the footpath heading in the direction of the boat club).

The 2:12 AM timeline supports the sisters being outside the flat. Simply because there is cctv evidence. We have no visual of the sisters turning onto the footpath, or what time?

My understanding of geo-fencing is it can help locate a phone within 50-100 meters). Not sure if it can display the direction they were heading in? Isn't that a tracking feature???

Indeed, 2:12am is last seen, on one of the cameras that are on or near the bridge. They must have an image of them going down the path to say they did, rather than jump off the bridge.
