WOW. Earlier on his arrest report it showed $25.

That does seem excessive unless there's more to it than they're releasing.

I wonder if this is an effort to force him into some long term counseling facility. The arresting/booking officer who originally
had $25 bond felt this wasn't a big deal. The judge has been convinced otherwise. Or may be a political move. Is judge
up for re-election soon?

Article says he has been there 2 previous times since February 14th. But what type of warning has he been served?

This is the court websight. If you go to the link and type in his name it shows his court case. It hasn't been updated with the new bond. It does show that the 25.00 bond was paid yesterday. It's confusing to me why the change.

There's got to be something more to this story or something's been reported wrong. There has to be, otherwise, it's a violation of his 8th amendment rights.

The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution states: “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”

Not sure about what Judge this is but there was previous mention of one of the Judges being a ‘political risk’

Going from $25 to 500K is excessive. I sure hope it has nothing to do with further exploitation. Who knows what they could be trying to angle for? They know there is no one to defend him...an open door for shaping his future at a disadvantage.

If he hasn’t been served formally for trespassing I don’t know how they can charge him? Unless he was destroying school property?

Well apparently ZC has been appointed an attorney who has said about the high bail, he's being charged and treated
this way based on who he is related to, not because of his actions.
Seems to me they'd have to have some serious charges to stick that bail on him. Normal bail for trespassing there is
$25.

I'm thinking you may be right here. There were a couple other instances and the police think he is dangerous, perhaps mostly to himself. Keeping him in custody provides a chance to maybe get some evaluation. But they'll have to come up with something fast. He will be appointed a public defender and the attorney could get that bail cut down pretty fast.

I hope they're not basing the high bail on who he is related to, would def. be a violation of his civil rights.

Another point, the prosecutor said something like "All the red flags are there- like his brother". And they listened to his conversation in jail w/ NC and I'm sure they were upset about the 'fan club' comment and how popular NC would be with girls now.
Also they do not list an address for ZC on his arrest- says At Large, Lantana, Fl. So is he no longer at Deschamps?
Is he couch surfing?
He has no one on his side looking out for him. He's doomed, I'm afraid.

1:40 p.m.

A judge has set bond at $500,000 for the younger brother of suspected school shooter Nikolas Cruz after he was arrested for trespassing at the Florida high school where 17 people were gunned down.

He is being held in the same jail where his 19-year-old brother is.

I don't know what to think. From the link prosecutors are saying he has the same red flags as his brother. Also as much as I have felt bad for him he seems to be enjoying the attention that his brother has brought him. He seems happy to be getting the girls attention. He was baker act not long ago for saying he didn't want to live through this situation, and they are searching the house he lived in for weapons. I think that there is more to this than reported. I do hope it is because of his words and actions, and not because of who he is related to.

I wonder what the judge's game plan is for him. To teach him a huge lesson?? To gain popular support of community?
They are throwing 'the book' at him for a minor offense. If his name wasn't Cruz, he would be home and bailed out.
they're acting like he's guilty simply by his relationship w/ his brother. He needs a good ACLU atty, IMO.
Maybe Deschamps have thrown him out and he is homeless again, ?????

Saga continues

Simovitch told the court Nikolas Cruz appeared happy with her services, and she doesn’t think Zachary Cruz wrote the email saying he wanted to end her services.

She also told the court she believes Deschamps is in possession of belongings that include Lynda Cruz’s furniture, engagement ring and other jewelry, a grand piano and her Kia.

The case’s docket shows Simovitch has resigned.

What a mess. So Deschamps is in NYC meeting w/ Allred and ZC hitches a ride down to Parkland to skateboard
at the hs. and gets arrested. No wonder the court is holding him. He has no where to go home to.
And she has Lynda Cruz's personal assets. Aargh.

vid of her presser is pretty grim.. sounds like she hates Nik..
it's awful, just awful..
she's behaving like a 'star'... a public representative..
it's all so false it's almost macabre.
Opportunism and manipulation is rife.. I cannot help but wonder how Nik experienced her and whether it contributed to his actions..
It would have been almost impossible to have any respect for this mealy-mindedness..

Watching him, with her mother, digging a hole in the garden, and not asking him to stop, but calling the police instead.. digging a hole 'that would have been the size of a gun case'
Oh yeah?

I'm not sure why RD feels the need to speak out. Has she been publicly ostracized and I missed it? I haven't read about anything other than her dealings with NC's mother's possessions and that she cared for the boys after the mother died.
It appears to me she is trying to garner some sort of personal gain or attention off the back of this tragedy.
It seems like she's doing her darnedest to maintain some sort of control and profit off of what's going on. Is that too harsh of me to say?

No, that's a helluva lot milder and gentler than my thoughts..

EXACTLY! I can’t believe anyone is giving her reel time. She hasn’t done anything to gain an ounce of credibility. Plus her own criminal behavior is to be taken into full consideration.

I’d like to know where Lynda’s phone is and what type of contact if any that she had with RD shortly before she died.
