was she asked specifically about these "blankets", or did she just start talking about them? Sounds like a case of TMI, and usually when people start giving info that has no relevance, it is a big red flag.

It is an area that RC and MC feel comfortable enough to now stay in a tent in, yet they deadbolted their doors shut everynight. In rural areas locking up to that degree isn't the norm it is the exception.

Interesting point. I sort of questioned this a few threads back myself. I have a side door that I very, very rarely use. I don't check it daily. I check it occasionally when I think of it, but not daily. Then again though, repeatedly insisting this door was locked and is always locked isn't something that really works in the families favor so I don't know why they would lie about it.

When my hubby is out of town working, my kids are in my room. I feel safer when he's home....not just about breakins, but fires ect. Maybe I follow the news or ws too much. Maybe she is the same way.

My husband is working nights for the first time in our 15 yrs together, he works swing: 4pm-12am but gets home at 1. My kids are teens and they do not sleep with me, however I cannot sleep til he is home. I am very aware of noises outside my home and very attentive to my dogs "alerts." I know where my handgun is. And we live in a small community.

Just saying, I hear ya.

Except-in the police report, he asks her why she is awake, so, she doesn't usually wake up when he comes home or there wouldn't have been a reason to ask that.

I think it is plausible sound woke Haleigh up and she could have turned the light on and opened the door thinking it was her dad, all except for the back door being open.

And WHY did they need the a/c fixed this time of year?
Did the landlord call the a/c guy to come fix it? and why did he do that as they had lived there for a few months, so they weren't new tenants, and it isn't hot enough yet for a/c?
I have never been to Florida, but I hear it gets pretty warm there year round. Here it is always better to have an AC guy come in the fall or winter because in the summer it can take weeks before one is available.

He may not have been used to her being up with the lights on, but to wake up when he comes home may be different since she is laying in the bed..still half asleep.

So we've gotten two things out of tonight's sleuthing: We need to shoot GPS trackers into all SO's with 9mm's, and it is imperative that we ban pronouns before our heads explode.

That's all for me tonight, goodnight everyone!

And in leiu of 9mm GPS bullets, we need cell phones and Vaseline.

Again...No one said Haleigh wet the bed! It was probably the little brother. The blanket smelled like it, but no one said which child peed on it. (Haven't we been through this before?)
Sorry...but everything is a little confusing in this case. I know we talked that it could have been the brother...but...wasn't grandma talking about how Haleigh had started wetting the bed again?

Oh yes. Agreed.

That would worry me, classic sign of sexual abuse.

If it is a rental it may be under contract for service and its looked at now before the hot season starts. I used to have my furnace cleaned in late summer early fall prior to the start of the heating season.

DUDE! by the time I read that back to myself five times I finally got it! Holy freaking 🤬🤬🤬🤬! I feel like I am back in Amish country in Ohio (where I grew up)...

SHE IS ENGAGED TO HER STEP BROTHER :waitasec:

It's late and after ready a bazillion pages to catch up (again), maybe that explains why after reading these two posts I suddenly started to hear Banjos? :)

Wow, you are are A-1 when it comes to Sleuthing!

I am still going to stay put, right here on this dog-ear fence..just too many conflicting stories and coming immediately off Caylee, my brain is fried.
But I have to say a Big Thank You to everyone here who helps people like me think out of the box and in directions I would never have thought of on my own..... It's so appreciated!

True they are step-siblings but my understanding is that they (grandparents) haven't been together THAT long. Not excusing it but somehow it seems worse if Crystal and Chad had grown up in the same house since toddler-hood vs. parents hooked up after Crystal and Chad were grown, you know?

I don't think Haliegh is that far. The underbrush is probably that thick.

The other child was asleep by 8:30.

Why would an abductor looking for kids go to the master bedroom?

Would an abductor be looking in the master bedroom? Peeping Tom. TV on. Okay...I am locking doors and every curtain is closed tight at my house tonight.

heads up from windchime.... no one start new threads on this case per the above.. .I saw this message on the main page of missing/located (up above if you want to check it out)

Thanks Nurse...............I mistakenly started a thread on Nancy Grace, as I thought we weren't supposed to discuss this case on the NG thread on the Caylee forum. A mod merged it into the then current thread.

I heard Crystal's mom (bio mom's mom) say she hadn't wet the bed in two years...now...do we believe her? I don't know. I don't really know what urine on the blanket has to do with Haleigh going missing tho or why we have spent an hour on the subject. (shrugging shoulders)

I am so bothered by all of this tonight..I guess because it seems the answers are right there.
If I were a member of that community, I would be pissed if LE didn't come out and say that there is a dangerous SO, or perp on the loose.
They have no suspects, yet will not reveal the poly results.
Something just isn't right.
My only hopes are that they know something and are waiting for either a confession or the true events to what happened before they make an arrest at all, to keep the perp from lawyer-ing up..

Yes, but the maternal grandmother does not see her except twice a month and has never spoken to Misty. How would she know this. It may have happened while the children were with the mother but that dosen't mean it happens all of the time or even with the father. My niece used to wet the bed at her mothers and my other sisters house but never at my place. I thought it was the fact that I monitered her liquid intake before bed a little more closely but we still to this day have not been able to really figure that one out. She was not sexually abused.

Not saying it was her...but IF it was...she has Turners which can affect the kidneys. Or she could have a pea sized bladder. Or there are a million other reasons a child wets the bed that have nothing to do with sexual abuse! I honestly don't believe it is a "classic" sign of anything, imo, until everything else is medically ruled out.

I'm thinking if there was an abductor, they had to know the family. Maybe someone, either father or girlfriend said something to someone about Haleigh being afraid of the dark and sleeping near the TV, or something that would have told the person where she could be found.
Also, does anyone know what the dad's van looks like? Haleigh might have gotten up, seen a similar van and unlocked the door thinking daddy was home.
I don't know, part of my hopes that she wandered away, even though if did and was still alive, she should have been found. In a way it would be better than another child murdered by family or taken by a stranger.

You need to read it carefully. Some of that applies to the bio mom. It is possible Bio mom didn't pay her court ordered child support of $325.00 and it looks like the contempt charge is on her. Their custody got nasty and most of those appear possibly to be trumped up charges against him, imo.

There are quite a few criminal charges too. Possession of over 20 grams of marijuana is one. Is that a lot ?

And as far as the kitchen light being on, I can't imagine any perp in the world that would be in a house with a light on. If the TV were on, it would no doubt give off enough light to acomplish the task of taking the child. I don't know the layout of the trailer, but I'm sure the kitchen light would be a great liability for any intruder.

I also think that if the lock were picked, there would be evidence of that and LE would not have said there was no forced entry. IIRC it is only the dad and the gf that are claiming the lock was picked.

If anything bad happened in the house and the gf or dad played a part in it, you would think it would have been witnessed by the other child.

The one footprint I don't get. Why only one?:waitasec:

If the gf was truly asleep with the kids, whomever came into that house had to be pretty desperate. Desperate enough to not give much thought to the consequence of being caught. Maybe there was something in that kitchen someone thought would be an easy score? Drugs, money, something else of value. Say the little girl woke up and came into the kitchen, she knew the person, so she didn't get upset. The perp, knowing the child knows them, hurries out the back door, maybe telling her something like "your dad sent me to pick you up"....

I don't know if I have a point. Just thinking out loud!

It's not a sign of anything unless a child has not done it for awhile and then starts back up, as was indicated by the quote.
