There was some discussion upthread about this particular article, where it says the children "were" in foster care.

My two cents on this is that it's a poorly written article, and they meant the children were taken into emergency foster care, then released to family. I don't know if the kids were ever in foster care in the past, but so far, nothing has come out saying so. They apparently even have the childrens' ages wrong in this article, stating they are 2, 1, and an infant. We've seen in every other article that their boys ranged from 8 months to 4 years.
I'm on the OD train with most here, but it's so odd to me. If it's in fact an OD, I just don't understand why they didn't just wait to do whatever they did at home.
I used to drive home drunk (and high, but mostly drunk, stupidly thinking I was "fine") a lot when I was younger. It was incredibly stupid, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I did. I never did heroin, but I've done most other things. I haven't driven like that in over 10 years, thanks to me blacking out, jumping a curb into someoe's yard, and almost flipping my car due to me overcorrecting while trying to get back on the road. Scared the absolute poo out of me, and I vowed to never drive like that again. I've stuck to that. I'm so, so thankful I never hurt anyone.
That said, I'm now a mom and I won't drive with her in the car if I've had even a drop of alcohol. Won't do it. I rarely drink now anyway, but my point still stands. I have poor vision, and often have very, very poor night vision. There have been a couple of times where I was on my way down to my parents' house with my daughter in tow (about 45 miles), and it had gotten too dark, so I pulled into a store and had them come pick us up. I'm that freaked out about something happening to my child. I just can't imagine getting high like that and then driving with kids in the car. I guess because I don't have the mind of an addict, I don't know.
Anyway, dad looks high to me in a lot of his pictures and mom looks fine. If this turns out to be an OD, I think he was the primary user, and maybe she was either clean for awhile, or just did something occasionally. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying that, it's just my observation. I could be totally wrong.
