I have to say this 1 more time bc I am starting to wonder if my earlier post may be what they're eluding to with the mother. Is it possible the mother did pull over for dad to "use" saw him being overcome from an overdose went to his aid and came into contact with the substance and she was also overcome. The stuff heroin is being cut with lately has caused numerous overdoses and deaths. Officers have had this same situation happen to them as well. She may have put her hand to his face or her mouth to his mouth any wierd scenario and that's why she doesn't look like an obvious overdose case. She would have no residue in her nose or no fresh needle marks either upon examination by the coroner. It's possible, I'm starting to wonder if that's why they wanted to clarify in regards to the mother.
Please let them be sure she's a purposeful overdose before they go reporting she overdosed & she was an addict. If she's not showing obvious signs it IS possible she came into contact with it unknowingly. This mother probably worked hard to be clean and I hope they make sure it's clear cut.

Chitwood was the Daytona Beach police chief for ten years. So, he's no neophyte.Chitwood was just sworn in as sheriff. He really needs to quit speculating and await the autopsy results.

LE said there were no drugs or paraphernalia found at the scene. Perhaps they had done it before they left the party, but given the short distance, it doesn't make much sense that they would pull over and do drugs on the side of the road with their hazard lights on.
This is such a bizarre situation. My first thought was murder suicide but the no obvious signs of trauma on the bodies kind of rules that out. My second thought, drug overdose but the most recent article I've read states there was no drug paraphernalia and neither mom or dad had a record of drug use so that seems unlikely.

Double suicide? If ya think about that actually may fit Best . What are the odds of two people in the same place at the same time dying within an hour of each other. This would have to be on"purpose" no? Planned - organized purposeful??
It almost (hazards light) seems like this was planned. Like they needed to make sure the children would be safe and found quickly .
What better way than on an interstate, with hazards on?
This older article with pic seems to show them pulled quite a bit to the side of the road. Imho...I don't think it was suicide or suicide murder.Maybe, but I'd think if they were going to do that, they wouldn't have left the car alongside the highway. A lot of accidents happen with someone slamming into a car parked along the side of the road. I'm not sure how far off the road they were, though. In my head, I'm seeing the shoulder, but maybe they were pulled off farther than that?

If I understand the articles linked, they were headed home to Ormond Beach from the grandparents in Quincy. Why were they so far south?
Didn't police just take pictures of a couple passed out behind the wheel while the kid was in the back seat?
Btw. I heard the male driver in the case im referring to had recently o.d and died after that picture with him and his lady were taken.
Not the same couple you are thinking of but a similar story happened here last week.
Two Austin-area parents were arrested*after police found them passed out in possession of black tar heroin with two young children in the car, according to an affidavit.
RRPD told KXAN that the departments victims services released the children to a friend of the mother with CPS approval.
