I don’t disagree. And stated IANAL. What is the rule in FL? Anyone here that could definitively help? TIA. MOO
This article might clear up things. Looks like once the allen charge is given and they still can't agree a mistrial is declared.

Prosecutors look happy

Ugh please don’t say manslaughter!! I’m hoping it was one juror holdout and they talked him or her into the correct verdict.

I can't believe the court TV person Vinnie's talking to said there's always a just verdict in Florida. Please do they not remember Casey Anthony?

Few resources referring IIUC to an Allen type charge in the state of Florida.

Arkansas Law Review volume 75, number 1, article 6 entitled ‘The Future of the Allen Charge in the New Millennium’ discuss it. (Reference footnote 62 on page 118 and Pages 137 & 140):

A June 17, 2009 Supreme Court of Florida Brief of Petitioner on Jurisdiction in CASE NO. SC09-1055, by Florida Assistant Public Defender Howard K. Blumberg. The Allen charge is in part described on page 2:

In short, it appears from a quick non legal non lawyer reading of this that a single request including perhaps a printable by the jurors is conducted. IANAL. MOO

Manslaughter with firearm. Min 11.5 years I think

  • #1,139
I knew it, this was the compromise verdict and exactly why the defense did not want that charge

  • #1,140
Ugh manslaughter! I can’t believe she gets away with manslaughter. Bad verdict imo
