Well now I know how narrow-minded I was before today. When heard his name was Esteban Santiago, I had a momentary feeling of relief of "shew, maybe not Isis or al-Quaeda today." Goes to show that Isis appeals beyond ethnicity. Heck there is probably a John Smith out there engrossed in this ideology.

It pains me that people make assumptions like this based on what ethnicity someone's name sounds like.

It's probably wise not to do that at all.

No. It's not that simple. You have to apply for a permit through ATF and they are very stringent when it comes to people coming TO the US with weapons. WITHIN the us, if you can legally own a firearm, yeah you just check it and claim it. But coming from OUTSIDE the US is a whole other ball of wax.

Oh my gosh, you didn't know? I guess this must be especially shocking for you then. It doesn't happen because most people who pack guns in their suitcases are law abiding citizens.

Seriously, one of your like-minded folks JUST STATED that the likely reason that this schizophrenic carried out these attacks is because of the constant exposure of ISIS on media. This person claims to know a lot about schizophrenia as well, and stated that is "how schizophrenia works."

In other words, the guy has schizophrenia. He hears/sees/witnesses ISIS on television, in the media, on deployment. By virtue of his disorder becomes fixated on ISIS, and then hears voices (after seeing tons of ISIS-inspired propaganda) telling him to kill in the name of ISIS.

You are correct! One is still inside an airport with many people. Plus baggage claim is a gathering place as many people meet their passengers in baggage claim.

Really? It's not human nature to me. With so many interracial families, adoption and other things, it makes no sense to profile people by their name. It sounds like profiling people.

The comment was in reference to me, and I was speculating (I had said "if it turns out..." etc), it was based on the MSM reports of him having gone to the FBI claiming to have heard voices and been admitted to a psych facility. Hope that helps!

No, schizophrenia is an assumption (made by several people on here). Certainly it could be something else. So, not sure how that's relevant. Honestly, at this point, we can't PROVE he was even hearing voices if you want to get that particular.

So, are you implying he went to the FBI, admitted himself to a facility... just to somehow cover up his ties to ISIS. All while saying he's hearing them in his head? That's all... made up?
