Nobody knew what he had at Mar-a-Lago because he hid them and moved them around! There will be witnesses who are there to testify more than where exactly the boxes were, but, to brainstorm, might testify about the defendant's willful ignorance on handling top-secret information, not taking our nation's security seriously, etc. Milley could likely address those issues and explain to the jury the type of atmosphere Trump created for our nation's well-being.Milley had no way to know what classified documents Trump had at Mar-a-Lago.

They questionned him about the Iran Attack Top Secret Document that Trump is recorded talking about during his Bedmister meeting with non-security cleared persons. Once again - recorded talking about it.Milley had no way to know what classified documents Trump had at Mar-a-Lago.

BBM. On that point, I totally agree with you. Milley had someone else write the document. <modsnip - off topic>They questionned him about the Iran Attack Top Secret Document that Trump is recorded talking about during his Bedmister meeting with non-security cleared persons. Once again - recorded talking about it.
Gen Miley, as the Senior guy, would 10 000% be in a position to discuss that document, it's existence (or non-existence) and to the contents of such for investigaton purposes. It would have been drafted by a Plans Officer (a "Planimal", not a "General" officer [rank], but certainly drafted by a Senior Officer [Major/Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel - it's what we do]), but let there be no doubt that this is well-within Gen Milley's domain of knowledge. If it existed, it was 99% Milley that gave it to Trump as requested and he certainly would have laid his own eyes-on it. It is his job. There is not anyone better for investigators to have consulted as to this "plan", it's validity or it's security classification.
I find it impossible to believe that somebody wrote the document, Trump classified it, Smith claims he found it yet Milley knew nothing about it.
What I disagree is your claim it was illegal for Trump to discuss it with "non-security cleared persons." The President controls classified information and the President can have a conversation with anyone he wants to talk to.
This point was brought up in 2017 when Trump was accused of sharing information with Russia and will likely be brought up at Trump's trial in this case
Well stated. And let's not forget he's recorded stating, “As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t.”<modsnip - quoted post, response snipped>
This happened when he wasn't president. Like he said, “As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t.”
Yes, he did recklessly leak classified military info to the Russians, but it's unlikely to be brought up in this case. jmo

JUST IN: Judge Aileen Cannon sets hearing date on potential attorney conflicts in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. Two separate hearings will be held on Oct. 12, 2023.

Does Jack Smith get to weigh on before the judge decides? I would assume so?Lawyers for former President Donald Trump have asked a judge to postpone his classified documents trial until after next year's presidential election, saying they have not received all the records they need to review to prepare his defence.
In a motion filed late Wednesday, Trump's lawyers urged U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to push back the trial until at least mid-November 2024. The presidential election is set for Nov. 5, 2024 .......

Trump lawyers seek dismissal of DC federal election subversion case, arguing presidential immunity
Lawyers for Donald Trump asked a judge Thursday to dismiss the Washington federal election subversion case against him, arguing the Republican is immune from prosecution for actions they say were taken in his official role as U.S. president.www.ctvnews.ca
He knows this judge would be the only one to even consider the motion: I am sure Jack Smith will respond to this "request"- You notice with all the vitriol he expresses towards judges, he never says one bad word about her. hmmmmDoes Jack Smith get to weigh on before the judge decides? I would assume so?

OMG- things are getting worse and worse- to be blunt: Trump is taking our country to he!!-- he has lots of help - from Steve Bannon and some leadership of the Republican party: I am sickened to see this country devolve into a state which is unfamiliar to me-- and the harm Trump is doing, to the present time has zero consequences.Months after leaving the White House, former President Donald Trump allegedly discussed potentially sensitive information about U.S. nuclear submarines with a member of his Mar-a-Lago Club -- an Australian billionaire who then allegedly shared the information with scores of others, including more than a dozen foreign officials, several of his own employees, and a handful of journalists, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The potential disclosure was reported to special counsel Jack Smith's team as they investigated Trump's alleged hoarding of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, the sources told ABC News. The information could shed further light on Trump's handling of sensitive government secrets.
Prosecutors and FBI agents have at least twice this year interviewed the Mar-a-Lago member, Anthony Pratt, who runs U.S.-based Pratt Industries, one of the world's largest packaging companies.
According to Pratt's account, as described by the sources, Pratt told Trump he believed Australia should start buying its submarines from the United States, to which an excited Trump -- "leaning" toward Pratt as if to be discreet -- then told Pratt two pieces of information about U.S. submarines: the supposed exact number of nuclear warheads they routinely carry, and exactly how close they supposedly can get to a Russian submarine without being detected…
While Pratt told investigators he couldn’t tell if what Trump said about U.S. submarines was real or just bluster, investigators nevertheless asked Pratt not to repeat the numbers that Trump allegedly told him, suggesting the information could be too sensitive to relay further, ABC News was told…
