I love the admission process:
1) register
2)pay non-refundable
3)attend family interview
4)pay another non-refundable

$30,000 yr tuition for 4, 11 and 13 year old grade school kids can add up fast. That’s more than some in-state college tuitions. It’s $80,000 for the older kid alone for 8 years. No disrespect to the dead, but maybe AT was one of these compliant guys who just agreed with everything his wife wanted no matter how expensive just so he didn’t have to argue, and in the blink of an eye, found himself drowning in debt. If his salary was $83,000 like some posted it might be here, no way could he keep up those expenses. And maybe he finally snapped and took it out on all 4 of them.

It also looked like AT was in the cage and the other fellas weren't, no matter how creepy some of them looked.

He was probably in a cage for his own protection. Even creepy felons don't look kindly on child killers. Jmo

Another thing he could have done to help reduce debts, was stop flying back and forth from Florida to his hometown every weekend.

Of course, he may have been getting dirt cheap airfares at least in the summer.

Exactly. Does anyone know where he lived in Ct during the week? I’ve seen no mention of another rental.

Is there any evidence to suggest Megan was in on some murder-suicide plot? It seems unfair to theorize she may have been involved in murdering her children without compelling evidence. For those of you who think she may have helped plan it: What makes you think so?

No there is no evidence of that. My posts were my working theories only. I may have forgotten the MOO or JMOO initially but it is clear reading the post that I did state I think this could be a possibility. I am truly not victim blaming at all and I am sorry if some of you took it that way. We do not know the whole story yet and the murders are odd to say the least. There is much more to this story IMOO

The federal warrant was issued for AT only.
So does that mean her name was not on the business?? Or did they issue only to him because when they spoke to him in the beginning he said he was the only one?

I don't know prior to more recent. I saw posted somewhere that they sold their house in Colchester in 2017. The rumors from his employees is that he was sleeping at his business at night and showering at the gym. Not sure how long he has been doing that though. MOO

If he’s the one that forged medical records and signed the reimbursement requests, he’s the one who committed fraud and made false claims.

I have seen this happen before. It can start by exaggerating a little - billing for an hour session instead of half an hour. When he gets away with it, he pushes it a little further. People justify it because it’s the “government” doing the overpaying so it doesn’t “feel” like fraud or stealing like it might if you were billing someone down the street. It can get out of control and snowball the more and more people get away with it. Once their lifestyle is based on this (illusory) income, it can be hard to stop.

So it didn’t have to start with some huge plan to defraud anyone. Little by little it can get out of control.

I guess he didn’t realize that clients would get a copy of the bills from their insurers, or he didn’t care. Most people look them over to see if they owe anything, like a copay or 10%, etc. And maybe the reason he didn’t get licensed in FL and move his business down there to save travel costs was because he realized that once he applied for a FL license there’d be a thorough investigation into him and they might see that the feds or insurers were investigating him for fraud. Apparently he’s been over billing for years and I’m sure the insurers were onto him. How it could have gone on as long as it did without criminal action being taken is beyond me. I guess the FBI is inundated with cases.

Still trying to ~"save face". Psychopath. Narcissist.

My thoughts exactly. I think he is both. That is the only thing, IMO, that explains this hideous crime to me.

There are a lot of things he could have done. He has a master's degree and years of experience. The commutes to Florida had to cost plenty, and likely reduced the amount of hours he could see patients and be able to legitimately bill for his services. After being confronted by the Feds in April 2019, he admitted to the fraud. On May 1, 2019, he moved his family into a rental home that added almost $5,000 to their monthly expenses, but didn't sell the mortgaged condo they had. Doubtful he could have continued to defraud the government, so a loss of "income", too. To me, that's mind-boggling.

Interesting article From Orlando Sentinel:

Michigan Man Kills Family

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- A man who came home from Las Vegas distraught over gambling debts killed his pregnant wife and three children, then shot himself to death, police said Tuesday. A suicide note was found on the kitchen counter. In it, Jihad Hassan Moukalled, 42, owner of a printing business, expressed remorse about gambling debts and "clearly indicated he was sorry he had to take the lives of his wife and children," police said. The victims were identified as his wife, Fatima, 31; daughter Aya, 7; son Adam, 5; and daughter Lila, who would have turned 3 on Saturday.

Many others stories just like this online. One spouse kills the other over gambling debts and loss of businesses, evictions, etc.

In this case, the man committed suicide and left a note expressing remorse. AT went so far as to live with the bodies for weeks and lied to LE when they got into his house and told them he thought Megan was sleeping and the kids were at a sleepover.

This is JMO, but it has yet to be seen by anyone outside of LE whether AT is truly remorseful for what he did. I don't think CW has ever felt any genuine remorse. Perhaps he feels sorry for himself. I feel the same way about Chris Coleman. I think it will be very interesting, likely very shocking (as well as incredibly sad for Megan, the children and Breezy) when more details become available on this case. I think there will be things that no one can even predict.

IMO that is what happened with the fraud. I am wondering though if she was listed with him as the business owner, if anyone knows?

It could be as simple as this: A reasonably intelligent psychopath and narcissist has huge business and lifestyle ambitions. At first quite successful, he is known in the community as a helper and giver. An achiever. The houses get bigger and smarter. The business expands. And then he makes a mistake. He miscalculates.

The new business isn't making a profit. It loses money. And suddenly it starts slipping away. He desperately borrows more and more money to keep the facade going. He starts stealing. He sends off the wife and kids, to another fantasy life.

And then he is found out.

I'm not even sure he can be classified as a psychopath, but I'm definitely not a psychiatrist.

From what we've seen of his lifestyle and illegal activity, plus he knew he was going down, I wonder if depression played a part. I think he had a prideful meltdown of biblical proportions. Jmo.

I hear you. I was a bit shocked when I read today's posts. I couldn't figure out where the murder suicide story was coming from. It wasn't totally clear to me that it was just theory. I thought it came from the news.
Anthony confessed so I think that's the end of the story as to who was responsible.

The murder suicide story came from 911 dispatcher in conversation with LE (911 calls). I believe it was a theory they were putting together after the frantic phone calls from Tony's family.
