I’ll bet his wife found out about the money or some secret life and threatened divorce. She’d get the kids....

This is not a motive for this kind of murder.

There is no 'motive' for this kind of murder.

More likely, Tony is a psychopathic conman who has been leading a double life for years, spending money he doesn't have, living a lifestyle he cannot afford, abusing his family in secret for a long time.

Whatever people thought he was, he wasn't. Whatever life people thought they had, they didn't.

Well, we don't know the cause of death yet. The arrest affidavit is from the detective on the scene that reported what he saw. They could have been killed another way (suffocated, strangled, poisoned) and the stabbing was overkill. The arrest affidavit blocked out his confession so we don't know yet.

I've been thinking about this same point.

Does anyone have any idea why the charges wouldn’t/couldn’t be read in court? This seems very odd to me. Is it common?

I got this detail from the arraignment video upthread.

My understanding is that AT requested them not to be read.

The eviction notice for the rental was put on their front door on Dec. 15. Megan and the children were not seen by anyone after that date. A possibility I've considered is she may have discovered this notice and/or other things and may have told him she was leaving him and was taking the kids. Women who are leaving an abuser are at a much higher risk of being murdered by their abuser. No way to know if this is what happened yet, but a theory I have that I think might be a possibility. JMO, and I do think he was an abuser.

I have a feeling she was completely blindsided. I've been looking at the eviction filing and exhibits. There were late fees right off the bat. And more often than not.

I wonder if she started doing her own research. Computers and accounts and such.

This seems to be local MSM where I sourced it.

I'm thinking blindsided as well. The eviction notice for their rental home was taped on their front door on December 15. She may have seen this and came to some conclusions that he had been lying to her, and confronted him, IMO. Just my own theory. Megan and the children were not seen by anyone after December 15.

I can’t imagine what a shock that would be. You come home to find an eviction notice taped to your front door, and you’re totally totally blindsided/in the dark? Wow.

I noticed in the ledger exhibit Megan had made a payment at the very beginning of the lease. After that, it was all received from Tony. Jmo

Horrid man. The kids’ wounds are slashes or made with a cutting motion too. Megan’s wounds are a more typical push-stab size.

It looks as if he was feeling specifically aggressive towards the children.
This makes me think he did not do it while boys were asleep. Maybe he argued with mom n boys ran in to help n he stabbed them. This would explain all bodies being in same room. It might also explain why there was only 1 wound to each boy. Maybe he didn’t want to kill them just fight them off. I doubt it tho bc then he’d have most likely called 911 straightaway. Maybe he didn’t expect boys to wake up n was planning on making it look like an intruder. Blood splatter will tell everything.

They said for each fraudulent claim he was assessed $11,000 extra per claim n there were probably hundreds over those years. Imagine what that fee must have been.

I thought they said a family member spoke with her on Dec 27? If correct, I wonder what they were doing from the 15th when eviction notice was posted, til then. And when do they physically force someone out after notice is posted? I thought evictions didn’t happen until after months of nonpayment.

That adds up fast. Even the eviction proceedings were going to be over 15K. They had a penalty of 2 months rent ($4,921 monthly) for breaking the lease (eviction).

We are comfortable. But these figures are mind blowing to middle class me. Jmo

I also wonder if TT sought counseling as an adult for the childhood trauma and/or if he was on psychotropic meds.

Yeah if he only made 100 false claims n I bet there were many more over the years, we’re already into the $1.1 million range, just in fees. I think they said he made at least $100,ooo- $200,000 in false claims n each claim was for probably around $100. That’s thousands of claims. Even if he only made 1000 false claims that would be $11 million he would owe in fees. There were clients he saw once a week or twice a month that he charged five days a week for, etc. some on days the clinic wasn’t even open. each claim is separate. another fee.

Can someone post that video again - I can't seem to find it - or what post it might be?
TIA!

This is behind a paywall for me. Apparently I used my free articles.

The Day on Twitter

Tony Todt made his first appearance in Osceola County Court today. He was seen sitting in a caged area in the back of the courtroom. He did not enter a plea. The judge approved a request to waive the reading of his charges & did not set a next court date. Details emerge in federal investigation into Anthony Todt
