5:42pm Judge asked jury foreperson if they were decided on any of the counts
Upon an affirmative answer, the judge requested that they go back and fill out the paperwork for each count that had been decided on.

Edit: 5:49 After sidebar, judge stated that he would reiterate to the jury that the verdict is not final until it is published in court.

They've barely been deliberating and they're already calling deadlocked?

6:07pm Judge is retracting previous directions and asked them to take any filled and signed forms back into the jury with them and that anyone, at anytime can change their decision up to the time it’s published.
The judge gave further instructions on talking and listening to fellow jurors, asking if there was a question on point of law, etc and told them that dinner would be provided.
6:10pm Court back in recess pending correspondence, question or decision.

The judge asks the Anthony Todt jury to continue deliberating. He tells them if they can't reach a verdict, they need to let him know and he will declare a mistrial.

Judge Carsten reminds the jurors that any unanimous verdict on a charge they may have reached is not final until given to the court and published. "Every individual juror can still change their mind," he said.

Todt was shaking his head as the verdict was read and is still shaking his head after the jury leaves the room.

Judge Carsten says they will take a quick recess and go into sentencing.

The only punishment is life in prison.

Todt is not facing the death penalty, which is the other penalty for first-degree murder in Florida.

Megan Todt's aunt says the murders have affected not only their family, but the community of children in Celebration that the Todt children played with.

She said some of the kids have asked if their fathers will kill them, too.

Judge Carsten sentences Anthony Todt to four consecutive life sentences. He calls him "a destroyer of worlds."

"You destroyed the world of your 4-year-old daughter," he says. "... The jury has unanimously determined you murdered each of them with premeditation."

I know… he’s unbelievable. One of the worst crimes and perpetrators in recent history IMO.

Happy the jury saw through all the bs.

Thinking he's almost sealed his fate slandering his wife after her death that he caused. He should be worrying about hell right about now. He has no quality other than to take up space at this point.

I'm mostly sad that the trial death of an entire family took so little time. Their lives held great promise...and to wrap it up so quickly feels like they were skipped over.

I just heard of this case, so I"m really behind the eight ball on it. But I wondered when I heard he was 4 yrs old when his own mother was shot win a "for hire" murder case in front of the boy? Is this true, and if so, then is he mentally off? Seems only someone truly mentally off their rocker could do to his family what he did and then blame his dead wife for their childrens' deaths., absolving himself of all guilt. Such a strange case.

Does it remind anyone of the decades old case of John List who killed 5 family members, his wife, all his teenage children and even his elderly mother to start a new life alone without the burden of all these people.
