I think it is 112...

Yes, 112 works throughout Europe including France
15 (ambulance),17 (police) and 18 (fire) used in France depending on type of emergency services, which I actually find confusing but they put you on to the right service

The thing I keep thinking about with this road is that if one wants to continue south and head away from the village and the campground, they have to go pretty far to reach any kind of regular road or autobahn. Quite far. Far enough that if the family were discovered quickly, a car speeding down a narrow road like that would be noticeable and they would have to go pretty far.

The other thing is the time. I can see the family going out for a walk or something but at that hour and at that road? I just can't see that was the purpose. I think someone followed them and waited, could have even been two cars telling each other where they were traveling.

It was mentioned early on that he kept putting air in the back tire at the campground. If he tried to gun it and the tire was a little flat, it could explain also the indent in the dirt.

It was also mentioned that the guy who found them broke a window to shut the car off. I'm not sure I would bother with shutting the car off if I found a scene like that - I'd want to hightail it out of there as fast as I could without going in my pants. But now that I think about it, if the car WAS an automatic and it was in reverse, it could explain why he wanted to get it to stop. Not sure if that's how it would be with an automatic though, never owned one and can't really drive one so good so not sure.

If all the doors were in fact closed, how did the girl get out of the car and what, she bothered to shut her door? I can't see that either. And if a door was open with the car running, I would think the killer would shut it off as to not draw attention further.

My theory is that the father was selling some kind of secret and the 'buyer' simply wasn't going to pay up. It could also explain the way the father kept leaving the campsite, maybe he was telling the person "not here, let's go here" etc. He may have wanted to be as far away as possible from where others could see anything.

I don't know, rampling thoughts are all I have. This is something out of a crazy spy movie. I think we will learn a lot from this little girl but my god I hope these girls change their names and move to some remote place because someone didn't want them to live.

State prosecutor of Annecy Eric Maillaud does not plan to make any statement on the affair until a (potential) press conference Wednesday, when one of the investigating French judges in charge of the investigation is set to travel to Great Britain.

The Times, citing experts, has stated that the weapon used "could be a Skorpion vz61 type submachine gun, from the Czech Republic, a weapon used by the Soviet forces during the Cold War".

Doesnt make sense using a machine gun but using it like a handgun?,even on semi auto.
The height of the car doors and trying to put machine gun to shoulder and fire in headshots?,dunno, ill have to have a wee think on this..

Could the spot (I'm still inclined to think it was a rendez-vous point) have been deliberately chosen because it has no mobile reception? So no one could call for help and they wouldn't be able to trace them by GPS?

possible,
but most of France has excellent cellular phone coverage, except in the thick of underground tunnels, and also different providers vary-one provider might have quite good reception in an area while another very little to intermittent

I'm now beginning to think that Sylvain Mollier has more to do with this than just being a passer-by..

It would maybe explain why the back tire appears to be flat, if true that the car was running and in reverse the tire would start to bury itself in the soil. I do wonder if the driver was backing up or trying to get away?

"Three people have been found shot dead in a car on the French island of Corsica.

The bodies were discovered in a village in the northern part of the Mediterranean island."

What the ????????? :what:

Could be coincidental..

"The bodies were discovered in a village near the town of Corte in the north of the island, which has suffered three decades of low-level violence by separatists opposed to French rule.

A dozen men have been shot dead in Corsica since the start of the year. Police say some of them were victims of score-settling in ongoing feuds.

More follows..."

Hm. The three dead on Corsica certainly throws a wrench into previous theorizing. Probably unrelated?
