I've read through this entire thread last night, riveted. Without intention of belittling it, it really reads like a who-dun-it story.

From an "outsider" just now encountering the case, I don't think any of the characters mentioned are going to be the perp. Other than that, I have no idea.

On the edge of my seat for the conclusion. And, I hope that is soon for the sake of everyone.

The longer the silence, the more I feel like the person who did the stabbing was not the person who wanted her stabbed.

Strange things are happening in this "idyllic" rural area
where previously people didn't even bother to lock their doors.

- Karen murdered
- A woman attacked from behind
- Another woman dead

All per MSM reports with links in this thread.

And all in the space of a couple of months.

Yes, I was just thinking about a degree of removal between the victim and the killer, but worded it poorly. Not limited to contract killing, but involving this and similar options, yes.

The husband also publicly denied there was divorce talk (he stated that they had been merely going through a rough patch) and according to Karen's friend, Karen tried to divorce him, but he wasn't keen on that.

But again, that’s the friend’s account.

It could have been a slightly different situation.

The friend could be very nosy. Hinting on a new relationship, asking whether Karen told her husband.

I view Karen as a gracious person who, however, knew how to put up boundaries. So she offers the most plausible explanation, I asked A. for a divorce but he is not ready.

We don’t know what the truth is. I just strongly suspect that Karen didn’t pour her heart out to all friends. Perhaps JFG knows, but he communicates with his lawyer and the police.

I don’t suspect AC. He loved KC, no doubt, but he has a business, a degree, a community. To me he looks like a person who’d grieve over the divorce but had a high chance of remarrying later. So I view him as the victim here, tbh.

A considerable amount of new information in the article above.

Karen's (male) neighbor saw a stranger (a black man) near her home three days before her murder. The man, who had no bag (so not a hiker) would not greet him and looked away.

A month before her death, J-F accompanied her to South Africa where she attended a football tournament with her team and also visited her family. She did not tell the family that J-F was there.

While in South Africa, she consulted a family lawyer for assistance in separating the family assets in divorce. Her husband was still hoping for reconciliation until her death.

She expected to keep both Tremolat holiday properties in exchange of her share in the South African family home, but was also buying another small cottage in Tremolat to live in.

Yes, very interesting new info.
I'm surprised this is the first time the neighbour's suspicious stranger sighting 3 days before the murder has been reported.
The neighbour said he'd mentioned it several times to LE and was so frustrated about lack of progress in the case that they went to the media.
I presume the neighbour has been checked out by LE to make sure it's not a fake sighting so if we take it on it's merits it seems highly significant.
Due to the remoteness of the village and KC'S property, the likelihood of a random tourist walking past her house only a few days before her murder seems highly unlikely considering they weren't dressed for hiking.
It could certainly be considered a potential 'stake out' by the perpetrator.
Also, the more information which comes out about AC/KC's and the potential divorce and property ownership issues, the more I'm leaning towards a contract killing.
Especially as the DNA samples will presumably exclude villagers.
