I would not believe it if they said they were sorry--it is obvious from Travis's
testimony he has no remorse
That is the worst of it, they felt completely entitled to chase him and order him to stop. I feel sure and I am sure that Ahmaud knew that they would have beaten him if he had stopped. Instead, they felt entitled to trap him like a rat. Turns out they are the rats who now will be trapped for a long time.

Obvious from Greg's reaction that day he has no remorse.

A man was just killed, lying in the street and instead of rendering aid he turns him over to hunt for a weapon.
He had yelled "stop or I'll blow your @#$%& head off."
Described Ahmaud as being "trapped like a rat."
He told LE that "being honest he would have shot Ahmaud himself."
He told Travis that he "had no choice but to shoot him."

I’ve kept thinking during this trial, Ahmaud and his mum look strikingly similar. Same mouth, same nose, both gorgeous.
I’ve been thinking about her a lot. May she have a great night of sleep tonight, and may she and her family have good health <3

Does anyone have a link to the prosecution team on CNN earlier? I can't seem to find it.

'They almost got away with it': How a leaked video led to convictions in the Ahmaud Arbery case

In the Ahmaud Arbery verdict, don't mistake accountability for justice

After the verdict, social media platforms lit up with comments from users who said the case wouldn’t have gone to trial at all if the video hadn’t thrust the case into the national spotlight and sparked an outcry.

“They almost got away with it,” one social media user tweeted. “It’s devastating that these guiltily verdicts feel like a miracle.”

Another person tweeted, “I’m happy Ahmaud Arbery’s killers are cooked. But never forget that this is not an example of the justice system working. Police didn’t arrest these men. Prosecutors didn’t want them charged. The video wasn’t released initially. It took outrage and pressure to make this happen.”

News of the killing largely remained under wraps in the weeks that followed. Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, accused Glynn County, Georgia, police and two local prosecutors of conspiring to cover up Arbery’s murder and protect the men involved in his death.

A $1 million lawsuit filed earlier this year alleges that the police department and officials with the Brunswick County District Attorney’s Office worked together to paint Arbery as a violent criminal and absolve the McMichaels and Bryan of wrongdoing. The lawsuit has been stalled amid the trial.

Even watching on Court TV, I'm impressed by LD. She knew this case in and out, upside down, right side up, sideways and backways.

This is an older article, but updated today. I thought it was a good one to refresh here as well.

In his final days, Ahmaud Arbery’s life was at a crossroads
Full of energy, always running, kind. That’s how people who knew the 25-year-old describe him

In his final days, Ahmaud Arbery’s life was at a crossroads

"Ahmaud’s longtime manager at Blue Beacon Car Wash, Jerry Wilson, said even after Ahmaud stopped working at the car wash in 2017, he would run past the blue building to say hello almost daily.

“Especially if he see me standing here, he’ll say, ‘Hi Mr. Jerry,’ get him a drink of water and continue on his run,” Wilson said.

Wilson said Ahmaud would have given you his last dollar if you asked for it. He wasn’t just saying that. He had seen Ahmaud practice that kindness before."

All 3 being taken out of a side door, one by one, in shackles, to waiting police cars.

Kudos to the judge
Best. Judge. Ever
Really, just doing his job correctly and with the dignity we expect of the bench. Unfortunate that we can't count on that from all judges, but I appreciate him all the same.

I watched the family and the prosecutors interviewed on the Glynn County Courthouse steps, but I'd missed the interview with TM's defense attorneys. Obviously, they plan to appeal, but I'm so used to hearing losing defense attorneys whine about their clients being wronged by the process, and perhaps that's why I was pleasantly surprised by the statements by these 2 attorneys right after the trial.
Defense attorney: McMichaels ‘honestly believe that what they were doing was the right thing’

"Sheffield said it was a “very disappointing and sad verdict” for his legal team.

“But we also recognize that this is a day of celebration for the Arbery family,” he continued. “We cannot tear our eyes away from the way that they feel about this. And we understand that they feel they have gotten justice today. We respect that we honor that because we honor this jury trial system.""

I drove 1200 km today to Lexington Kentucky. So I didn't hear the outcome of the trial. My husband called me and said I've something to tell you. My heart dropped because I thought he was going to say Not Guilty. But I cannot tell you how happy I am that justice was served. It wasn't blind. It shone a light on the perversion that presented itself as morality. They always say sunshine is the best disinfectant. The sun shone bright today.

How thoughtful of your husband to ring you with news that he knew you would be anxious about.

I don't cry but I did today. It feels good.

I am flipping through tv stations to see the looks on their faces when the verdict is read. I hope it was visceral, their fear. The world's axis just tilted for them.

I think forums like this one in particular, which is so heavily and unabashedly pro-law enforcement, do need to remember that LE was an active hindrance in this case. The verdict that was reached today happened in spite of LE, not because of it. The McMichaels, with their close connections to LE, had every institutional advantage and leaned on those advantages heavily all throughout the process. In fact, they brought about their own undoing by taking a video and releasing it, so sure were they that they were in the right and were going to be vindicated by LE. On its own, LE wasn't going to do a thing.

I hope people remember that they next time they start gushing praise for LE. Let's be a little bit more measured in our estimation of some of these institutions.
