GUILTY GA - Ahmaud Arbery, 25, jogger, fatally shot by former LEO and son, Brunswick, Feb 2020 *Arrests* #6

GM's attorney is arguing that despite murder conviction, he remains a "man of good."

I understand defense attorneys are advocates for their clients. But I find listening to her argument just grating.

and of course Gough asks for a recess... couldn't he have taken care of his business while the other 2 attorneys did their arguments??!!

  • #283
Okay, I have not joined back in with Gough addressing a few issues.

Do you think any one of these three will say anything?

Gough says poor clueless RB is less culpable. He had no idea what was going on. Mr. Bryan HAS expressed remorse on national television, even before he was ever charged. He is not the same as the other defendants.

Honestly, Gough is doing pretty well here I must admit. He is not coming across in his typical overblown, dramatic fashion. He is coming across as reasonable and his mitigation argument is actually quite well reasoned and articulated. I'm rather shocked

I thought Gough said he would be "brief"....

LD points out what I was thinking during Gough's one continuing event argument. LOL

ETA that during trial, all three defense attorneys at one time or another argued that this was NOT a continuing event but rather a series of small ones. Now they are all arguing this one continuous "chase" theory as a reason to cry that the charges have been piled on their clients.

I LOVED when LD said that when TM was testifying that it was the worst day of his life - Well how did that work out for Mr. Arbery!

Love LD: TM this is the worst day of my life…”Well how did that work out for Ahmad Aubrey”!!!!

Judge is taking 10 min break to review notes, then sentencing

I'd say - Travis LWOP, Greg - Judge will probably give him LWP - maybe 20 years + probation & Bryan - LWP + probation.

I tend to agree this is what the Judge will do.

YES! LD says GM obtaining the video two month after the murder from RB, and releasing it because he was convinced it would exonerate him proves he has zero remorse! Nicely done

During the recess: Kevin Gough is speaking to Amy Elrod, Roddie Bryan's fiancee, and reminding her of no outbursts in the courtroom. On the other side of the gallery, the #AhmaudArbery family is chatty, and Barbara Arnwine prayed with Wanda Cooper-Jones.
