This is slightly off topic but tangentially still relevant - especially in light of recent discussion - so I hope the mods allow it.

------------
And I know this really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I take issue with referring to the likes of Giuliani or Powell as 'incredible minds'. By the way, this lady also referenced 1960 as her basis probably because the memo drafted by Chesebro uses that as a primary argument for installing fake electors.

(The Hawaii slate of electors were actually certified by the Governor before the Congressional vote - which is the key point Chesebro willfully ignores.)

JMO
Tangentially related for sure. She has been charged in Michigan now BTW. Seems that the fake elector plot ran much the same way in Michigan.

I wonder if Ms. Willis is able to bring in "the other states" (the contested ones who also ran fake elector schemes) events to highlight the "organized" and "coordinated" nature of these schemes and the way they ran them .... all going back to Trump et al during Georgia's RICO Trial of these corrupt crew in Georgia.

Willis said Jordan's inquiry "makes clear that you lack a basic understanding of the law, its practice and the ethical obligations of attorneys generally and prosecutors specifically."
On page 6, Willis recommends that Jordan buy a copy of John Floyd's RICO book for the non-bar member price of $249

But a couple of reminders for folks not closely following this case - 8 fake electors in Georgia also opted to cooperate with the State and received immunity.
snipped

This is an interesting point. I really do think the fake electors could possibly make a case that they were assured by "knowledgeable" lawyers that their fake vote was legal....until the prosecutor comes along and tells them they committed a crime. At that point, if they have sincerity for following the law and not a celebrity politician, imo, they would cooperate and receive immunity. When faced with felonies, they could no longer claim they didn't know they committed crimes.

But, as we've discussed before, it's not too late.

I really hate political posturing. Though he never took the bar, Jim Jordan does have a law degree. (Along with Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham and oh so many others).

So when those elected officials who also happen to have a Juris Doctor are attempting to interfere in open investigations; lying about something being non-criminal or something not usually prosecuted being America's most heinous crime; being hyperbolic about banana republics and kangaroo courts - just remember, it's all grandstanding for a particular audience they believe will buy it. And unfortunately, they're often proven correct.

Option Number Two, of course, is that Jim Jordan really is that obtuse. Could actually totally be that as well.

I think Trump's case for removal is probably the weakest. There's a school of thought that contests the President isn't a federal officer at all - elected vs. appointed. In addition to that, what colorable federal defense could Trump possibly provide?

The President of the United States plays NO role and has NO authority in how states count or certify their votes so how does he justify his actions were 'necessary and proper' to the duties of his office? And unlike Meadows, it's not as though he can claim his boss was forcing him to do what he did.

It's a delay tactic at best. (Bear in mind though, if Meadows is shipped to federal - and he does indeed have the very best case for removal of all 19 - ALL the defendants may follow. We just don't know yet. It won't change a lot but it may give them certain advantages like a venue to argue for Supremacy Clause immunity, different procedural and evidentiary rules and iirc no superseding indictments can be filed once the case is removed. Fulton County DA's office will still try the case; the jurors will be chosen from the Atlanta area; and convictions will not be pardonable by POTUS.)

Most importantly for all of us though - no cameras are generally allowed in federal court.

Whatever happens, I am confident D.A. Willis has already thought about it and has a plan on how to proceed. We've seen that she comes prepared.

This is getting a bit silly now but....

For people not on Twitter: David Shafer asks Judge McAfee for an “evidentiary hearing” on what he calls “improper contact” from the law firm of Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade. The “improper contact” appears to be an advertising letter from the firm, signed by Wade’s law partner. - Anna Bower's Twitter feed

Wow! Fahni Willis totally “schooled” Jim Jordan regarding his inappropriate interference in the Fulton County investigation and charges. I read every word of her letter to him, which cited case law after case law. I doubt Jordan bothered to read it because being deliberately obtuse and falsely indignant is his MO. Too bad she had to take the time to respond to his drivel, but I’m glad she did. She’s the real deal. He’s “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing” (to quote The Bard).

It's my own fault for just scanning the request to keep jurors identities private but in that motion DA WIllis told the Court, in addition to the Grand Jurors being doxed - she, her staff, and their family members have also been doxed and that information is being hosted on a Russian website...including names, phone numbers, dates of birth, addresses, job locations and GPS coordinates! Homeland Security said there's nothing they can do to have that information removed.

I hate this moment of stochastic terrorism we're living through. Tell me who in their right mind would bring this upon themselves for 'political motivation'?!?!?!? It's such a vicious and disgusting smear and I'm mad all over again at the people who foolishly believe such nonsense while prosecutors lives - and the lives of those they love -are quite literally at risk just for doing their jobs.

What the hell do we do when no one wants to work as a prosecutor any longer? What happens to the criminal justice system then? And for those folks who don't realize it - District Attorneys have already been struggling to attract and retain experienced prosecutors for the past couple of years. High caseload, low pay, little reward. (As I've said before - private practice is a much, much cushier gig.)

Exactly what “they,” (including Russia) have always wanted to happen. The criminal justice system and the rest of the system of government falls apart. Looking at you Steve Bannon, Donald Trump and all the other chaos instigators.

I'll take Option Number Two for $1,000, Alex.
