Have not gone thru ALL the defendants dockets - I shall do that... later...

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has a new court filing Wednesday that identified some of her key witnesses.

Pro-Donald Trump lawyer Lin Wood is a “witness for the state” in the Georgia election subversion case, as are four of the fake Donald Trump GOP electors Vikki Consiglio, Gloria Godwin, James Carroll, and Carolyn Fisher “are witnesses for the state.” None of them have been charged in the sprawling criminal case.

The reference to Wood was buried in a new court filing by the DA’s office that raised potential conflicts of interest for six defense attorneys because they previously represented witnesses or other defendants in related proceedings.

The filing also says another prosecution witness is CJ Pearson, who was originally part of the pro-Trump slate of electors and was spotted by CNN at the Georgia state capitol on the day that the GOP electors met – but later backed out of process.

He was replaced in the slate of Trump electors by Burt Jones, who is now the lieutenant governor of Georgia. Jones’ actions surrounding the 2020 election are the subject of a pending investigation by a special prosecutor that is separate from Willis’ team.

The filing on Wednesday also said Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and former Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan are witnesses for the prosecution.

Lawyers for three Georgia Republicans who signed a certificate falsely claiming that then-President Donald Trump won the state are arguing that their clients were not fake electors but rather a “contingent” slate in case the 2020 election results were tossed out. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones heard arguments Wednesday on why David Shafer, Shawn Still and Cathy Latham believe the case against them should be tried in federal court rather than in Fulton County Superior Court.

A federal judge on Wednesday set a Dec. 11 trial date to determine how much former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani must pay two Fulton County, Ga., election workers for defaming them after the 2020 election.

The judge previously found Giuliani automatically liable for defaming election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss after Giuliani resisted turning over discovery in the case.

The trial will only be held to determine how much Giuliani owes in damages.

Happy holidays, Rudy!

Rudy is indeed a laughable baffoon, but I'm thinking what an absolutely horrible day J6 must have been for Cassidy (understatement). She was seeing the Capitol attacked with the Commander in Chief doing nothing but watch it on tv AND having to put up with an old man putting his hands under her clothes while another baffoon in power leered.

I wonder if the push by some defendants to move the case to federal court is because, if they are convicted, they would prefer a federal prison to a Georgia state prison?? Idk. jmo

If Trump’s motion is successful, the case could continue in federal court, but Segall warned that such a ruling might ultimately result in a dismissal of the charges.

“He may get immunity in federal court … States aren’t allowed to arrest federal officers for performing federal duties,” Segall said. “The issue is not, did he do the acts? The issue is, is it part of his official conduct? And if it is, charges could get dropped.”

Starting Dec. 11, there will be no phoning it in for Rudy Giuliani after a federal judge ordered that he must physically appear in court for every day of his impending defamation trial involving Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ArShaye Moss.

I think this is where the evidence that DT knew he lost the election will come in to play.

If he truly thought that the election was "rigged" he wouldn't have made the comment to Meadows about "this is embarrassing, I don't want people to know we lost, figure it out" and the other signs that he knew he lost.

Mr Barr, who was appointed by the former president, said that Mr Trump "knew well he lost the election". Link

“Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen.”

Assuming Trump is not an irrational person, his attorneys will have to show that he had credible evidence his claims were true — evidence that made it rational for him to believe them rather than what he was told by numerous high-level sources in positions to know. Link

Because it's the only hope in H - E - Double Toothpicks that they have of getting a pardon should they be convicted IMO.

Yes, that. (I think they expect conviction and delays, appeals, and pardons are their best bets.)

Anyone want me to keep track of this trial?
