“You are dead,” one message played for jurors says. “Your family and you are now criminals and traitors to the union. BLM wants the cops to go away, good, they are in the way of my ropes and your tree.”
“We are coming for you and your family,” another message said. “Ms. Ruby, safest place for you right now is in prison. Or you will swing from the trees.”

“Ruby Freeman, I hope the Federal Government hangs you and your daughter from the Capitol home you treasonous piece of s***!” a third message said. “I pray that I will be sitting lose enough to hear your necks snap!”
Yet another message played for jurors was just the n-word chanted over and over again. Both Freeman and her daughter are Black.

Freeman said she installed a security system at her home, but was eventually warned by the FBI to leave until at least after the inauguration. Ultimately, she sold the house and moved away. That wasn’t until after she received a message warning the caller was coming for her and “trash will be taken to the street in bags.”

After Ruby Freeman testified today, Rudy Giuliani's attorney got up, said it was nice to meet her, and sat back down.No cross-examination.

I hope they are awarded a ton more than what they are asking for. I can't even imagine how fearful their lives became.

and Giuliani doubled down on the court house steps and defamed these poor women all over again. I hope the award is huge and that he goes totally broke, if he isn't already. Who would have thought he would turn out to be what he is----which if I said it here I would get timed out.

In emotional testimony delivered over the course of two days, Freeman and Moss described the flood of harassing and threatening messages they received after Giuliani and others, including former President Donald Trump, began attacking them. They told the jury how their personal and professional lives were upended by the lies, including through the loss of job opportunities, their communities, and, they said, their personal identities.

After the proceedings ended, Freeman and Moss hugged each other tightly and then every member of their legal team. A feeling of jubilation among the plaintiffs in the courtroom after Giuliani left, Freeman looked especially relieved after the jury forewoman read the numbers, spinning around slightly in her chair and closing her eyes briefly.

Very tepid apologies imo. Don't get why the judge accepted them.

Interesting article on if Guiliani appeals his case...

Dec. 17, 2023
.....
Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade suggested on Saturday while appearing on MSNBC's The Katie Phang Show that Giuliani will face a major roadblock in attempting to appeal his defamation ruling.

"One of the things that is a bit of an obstacle to an appeal is the idea that in Georgia, a person has to post what's known as an appeal bond," McQuade, who previously served as a U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2010 to 2017 and appointed by former President Barack Obama, said.

She continued: "And the idea behind an appeal bond is that an appeal could be filed for good faith reasons, it can also be filed simply to delay the pay day, and so to avoid the latter, litigants are required to pay in advance an appeal bond which is usually something more than the amount of the judgment, so that it's there in case there is a finality in the case. I don't know that Rudy Giuliani is going to get an appeal bond, so he may not be able to do it at all."

So he would have to put up at least $295 million plus.... too bad, so sad.... NOT! :)
