There is no news as to who was responsible for this. There was a huge memorial service here yesterday for Jane and her daughters.

The good news this evening was that Jeremy's condition has been upgraded to fair.

I am the neighbor whose posts are referenced and linked earlier in this thread. I'd like to say--it's odd when you see people take the smallest and most innocent comments and make things out of them that they were never meant to be. Most of the time I think it's probably better to just ask about what was meant rather than speculate and turn it into a point of speculation. My comment in the thread linked here about them being "exposed" meant simply that their bodies were laying over there for hours as people walked through and processed the scene. While I realize that's necessary to gather evidence, it also pains people who know and care about them. I in NO WAY intended to indicate anything about the condition of the bodies or their state of dress. How would I even know that?

Thanks.

Tabby,

Was Jane and her daughters buried there or did the family have them sent back to be buried with the husband? I hope they are buried here.

I'm glad to hear that Jeremy is doing better. Poor little guy. I hope that he won't suffer any long term affects over the beating he took. He will have enough to cope with mentally and emotionally. Do you have any idea who he will live with? I hope the boys are able to help LE identify who murdered Jane and the girls. You would think that the boys must have seen whoever it was.
I just have a feeling it was someone in the father's family or someone involved with the family. Seems like someone was going to make sure the job on the girls got done one way or the other. A sad situation all of the way around. Jane had been through in her lifetime and then for her life to end this way along with her daughters. I'm sure that Jeremy was left for dead. I hope there is a cop sitting outside his door 24 hours a day.

Thanks for posting here Tabby. It's good to hear that Jeremy is improving. The traumatic effect of the situation was clear from your posts. The majority of us who are armchair sleuths and have not been touched by things of this sort tend to forget just what an impact these horrible murders can have...even if you're not a family member. I hope you'll keep us updated on any new developments and that the responsible party or parties are soon identified and apprehended.

I would be interested to know what the Kenyan community is thinking. Is this about her culture or something else?

Thanks for your comments. There is no new update to report, unfortunately. Well, except that the bodies of Jane and her daughters are supposed to arrive back in Kenya today, with a burial there scheduled for Friday.

I, too, am an "armchair sleuth," and have been a true crime reader for years. And yet, I never anticipated such horror and tragedy right outside the safety of my own home and to someone I know. I suppose everyone must feel that way when/if it hits too close to home.

My only point in my first post was that I have obviously made myself somewhat accessible through my posts about this case, and I think it's preferable to simply ask someone what was meant by something they said rather than to speculate incorrectly and add things to someone's statements that were never meant. This case has enough mystery about it without adding anything to it.

Anyway, thanks again.

It really saddens me that they are being sent back to Kenya when they had sought asylum from there and it was from the culture from her village that she was trying to protect her daughters from. :(

Thanks for this information Tabby. I'm not sure what was posted about your posts that was incorrect but I apologize. Thank you for posting this information though.

I was torn at first about Jane and the girls being flown back to Kenya for burial, but I have peace with it now. Just because she might have been seeking a permanent new home away from some of the elements of her culture that she found intolerable doesn't mean that she hated her culture or her home country. I would think it was quite the contrary. She and the girls will be buried with her husband and their father, on the soil where they were all born and in a place where their closest family can memorialize them and visit their gravesites. I think that is good.

Funerals are for the living, and Jane and her girls have many living relatives who love them in Kenya.

Welcome Tabby. I am so happy you are here to help us clear the air about this case! I hope you can find peace in all of this, but I would imagine it will take time.

Tabby, thank you for posting. I sincerely apologize for offending you in anyway. That was never my intention. I guess we all sepculate things at heart, and I am sorry if it came across the wrong way. The "exposed" comment did strike me as odd, and I am sorry for misinterpreting it. I am also sorry for all you have had to endure. My cousin lives less that 2 miles from you and I grew up in Austell. Again, please accept my sincere apology, and know that it was never my intention to hurt you.

Thanks so much, Edwards20. I appreciate your apology and your kind words. Sorry I let it bother me as well, but I just wanted everyone to know that it was a completely innocent sentiment of concern, and nothing about the condition of my neighbors. It just felt to awful to have them over there in the house all day with all the people in and out.

There's still no news here. It's like the whole thing has just vanished from the minds of all, except those of us who live here and those who cared about Jane and her family.

Thanks again.

Any news on this case?

Unfortunately, this story has completely dropped off the news radar. Hopefully they are still working towards aprehending the people responsible, but they aren't saying anything about it, one way or another.

Thanks, Tabby. If you hear anything, will you post it, please? I am interested in this case.

  • #113
Yes, of course. It would make me happy to be able to post an update, even if it's something small.

  • #114
I am also very interested in any updates for this case. Thanks Tabby.

Thanks Tabby. It's good to have you here.

I too am still interested. Not only because I grew up in Cobb County or because I family less than 2 miles away .... but because NO ONE deserves this. I think of this family every day. Tabby, I still think of you and what you had to endure. Thanks for coming here and I am glad to have you.

Thanks, everyone. I really mean that.

There's still no news. I did speak with two detectives yesterday who came to Jane's house. However, the reason they were there is that I had become concerned the day before because I noticed a utility disconnect notice hanging on Jane's front door, and I called around trying to find out how to prevent the electricity from being turned off since no one has been in the house since the last officer left and locked the door. The PD wasn't aware that the house hadn't been attended to and the electricity was about to be cut. They were just here to confirm that it was true.

I did manage (with the help of others) to get the electric company to wait another month before cutting the power to the house so that it could be properly attended to first.

But still no news. I do know the investigation is ongoing, though.

Well, at least that's something. Thanks for the update, Tabby.

Thank you Tabby.

Tabby,

You are such a good friend and neighbor. I'm sure that Jane knows that you are looking after things for her.

It bothered me when you said that the family had flown Jane and the girls bodies back to Kenya where she had escaped from but the more I thought about it I know that their spirits left their bodies the second that they died and so it really doesn't matter where the shell is laid to rest. It is the living part of us that matters and their spirits are in heaven....not in Kenya.

I hope that this case is resolved soon. I would hate that after all that Jane went through in her life that her killer isn't caught and given the death penalty for everything that he/they did in that house that horrible day.

I hope the little guy is still improving and that there will be someone there to make him feel loved and secure. I hope to heck the family doesn't think he should return to Kenya to live with other family members. Jane died trying to save her children.
