Just a question - did we know Quinton was likely dead by 1am before today? I have to admit, it's been some time since I read up on the facts of this case.
I think that's new. Iirc didn't the bf say he saw him in his playpack that morning?

So she was gone for 12 minutes, throwing him away in the middle of the night? Then goes to sleep? Business as usual.

Goldfish wouldn't be safe in her care.

10min break.

I don't think so. I definitely thought it happened in the morning.
Yeah, I think it was in my mind that maybe he died earlier but was found dead later in the travel cot.

This prosecution theory of the case suggests she killed him and pretty much dumped him immediately. No freaking out, just 'oop, he's dead, better get rid of that, now time for bed!'

Stream is live

I'm guessing the big Black man with the headphones behind the defense team is controlling the audiovisual stuff for the feed. Thank you, A/V guy!

Prosecution is showing photos from the landfill. Oh, poor Quinton. Reduced to bones...

Heartbreaking.

There was no way he was going to be anything else, after weeks in a landfill. Machines, bacteria, animal predation, natural decomposition timeline. The miracle is that they found anything of him at all.

End prosecution opening.

Thanks the jury for their attention during the very long 'soup to nuts' layout of the timeline.

Defense up now.

Defense says the case is unsupported, says case can't be decided on emotions.

Wow. That's it. Short. Asks jurors to find her not guilty.

Lunch recess.

Did anyone catch how long for the lunch break? I was talking to my partner and missed it.

Jury dismissed, Judge raises issue of one juror with known hearing challenges. Both State and Defense agree with the Judge, that juror is hearing what's being said and have no issue with the juror.

Good morning guys! I’m getting a late start here in the Pacific Northwest so a big thanks for posting the proceedings!!

On CourtTV, I rewound and am watching Leilani’s dramatic “suicide video.” Boohoo. I can’t dredge up any sympathy for this woman.

Defense's opening statement was underwhelming.

The State's was methodical...

I don't know how long the trial itself will be but I predict it won't take the jury long to return a verdict.

It is of course unfortunate that the State doesn't know how he died, but that he died and the evidence points at the defendant should suffice. Her lies IMO reveal the truth.

Leilani tried to be clever in setting up a scenario but she underestimated the power of intelligent investigators and tech forensics.

In the end this is just another “I woke up and child was gone” bs lie. She’s not as clever as she thought she was.
