I have truly considered all possibly scenarios in the mysterious horrific Dermond murders. After over thirteen months without an arrest/s, suspect/s, person/s of interest, or motive/s in sight. My original theory in this case has not changed, but seems even more evident with each passing day..

Imo, there are too many signs and indicators that the Dermond abduction/decapitation/murders were meticulously planned and executed by well trained professionals, to send a message. Forensically and investigative aware, likely law enforcement or paramilitary; soldiers on a perpetual mission to send a poignant message. Imo, this obvious message, which is being ignored and possibly written off by Putnam County Sheriff Sills, and others, seems loud and clear; retribution.
Retribution/revenge, directed at Sheriff Howard Sills, the Justice system, Reynolds Plantation/GW, and the entire Putnam county community..imo.

Imo, Shirley and Russel Dermond, were randomly selected innocent victims, and only convenient means to an end;
only objects, or chess pieces to the soulless creatures responsible for their heinous murders. These unknown perpetrators were well aware that the clues, and other residue left in their tragic wake; 'rage, hatred, fear, evil' are not visibly obvious to Sheriff Sills or his seasoned homicide investigator/s'... because these clues can't be touched, seen, smelled, or heard.. These hidden clues must be intuitively felt by investigators for clarity of their true meaning..

We are now witnessing the aftermath affects and intent of this horrific ungodly crime on the Reynolds Plantation/Great Waters/Putnam County community, as well as the despair and helplessness displayed by Sheriff Howard Sills' defeated demeanor in the many one year updates; Unsolved Putnam murders trouble sheriff - All of these results are the affects intended by these unknown perpetrators creative and calculated plan and act of retribution, jmho..

Irony would be; if the GBI <Georgia Bureau of Investigation> solved the Dermond murders while investigating an unrelated GA case..

I think you're right Foxfire. The Dermonds spent their lives living as they should. From all sides, they were a good, decent, law-abiding couple. There's nothing in their lives to cause such a horrible attack on them or it would have been discovered by now. Sadly, they were just a vulnerable older couple used as pawns. The sick individuals who planned and plotted have their retribution and their revenge. They are savage and "soul less" enough to enjoy and savor it. Maybe one day someone in law enforcement will stumble upon the answers and solve the case. If not, we can all look forward to another source of revenge at a later time.

They made the decision to move from the fast paced hustle and bustle of Atlant, to a safe and secure rural gated Putnam County lakeside resort community; Reynolds Plantation/GW to live out their well deserved golden years. In a million years, no one could have ever predicted the horrific nightmare that would become their ultimate fate. The Dermonds deserve swift justice.. Justice delayed is justice denied..

We are all aware that the FBI is assisting the Putnam County Sheriffs' Department in the Dermond's unsolved murder investigation on a limited basis. We are also aware of the two reasons that Sheriff Sills is excluding the GBI in the investigation. Many posters have the opinion that this assistance by the FBI justifies the refusal by Sheriff Sills to also utilize all of the available investigative resources of the GBI.

For purposes of civil debate; can anyone explain why it would be a bad idea to use all available investigative resources; including but not limited to; both the FBI and the GBI, to insure that justice is served in the Dermond case?

Just to share:

Talked to some Eatonton boys a few weeks ago, one was going for a job at sparta PD I think it was, I replied with, "Really, you dont' want to work with SS in putnam?" got a few oohs and aahs and rolled eyes adn one said, you have to have a PERFECTLY clean record to work with Sills........

That speculation came from a tip to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, that Ingram had been shot and killed in DeKalb County. It wasn't true. Neither was other police speculation. Investigators wondered if Ingram stole the car he was supposed to detail and was on the run.

"We treated it as a fugitive auto theft investigation. Theft of conversion," Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said.

Ingram was not the victim of a crime, he was not a fugitive, he simply had an accident. And no one found him for nine days.

What a shame. This poor man. I am glad that he has been found and his family can bury him properly. The speculation on the part of SS makes me wonder if he is "still" fit to serve as Sheriff. Did his LE department not do their homework? Or did they just draw their conclusions based on past criminal activity?

How many times have we seen this scenario play out in missing persons cases? I can name a half dozen from rote. Ironically, in this case as many of the others, an aware citizen; a school teacher solved the case for the distraught family. There are far too many SAR organizations that work well with LEAs across the nation that would have gladly conducted a thorough and competent search for missing Brandon Ingram. His family said that it wasn't like him to not come home. He was last seen around Eatonton, and caught on security cameras. Tragic..

While twiddling my fingers and patiently awaiting a news update concerning the horrific Dermond abduction/decapitation/murders from the virtually silent Eatonton Messenger. I opted to scan the latest skuttlebutt on the RP blog. The topic of conversation that they were discussing; the widening of Hwy 44; a popular route, to a 4 lane hwy.... pros/cons, change, and the inability to stop it..

Folks were reminiscing and sharing their experience/s when first moving to the quiet and sparsely populated Putnam County.
Back when, as were many rural counties of the south, the county was dry, with a Church on every corner, and few or no traffic lights. With maybe the exception of the Piggly Wiggly, there were no big box grocery store/s, or many of the other conveniences taken for granted by newcomers today.
Times, they are a changin, but life goes on..

A man considered a person of interest in the killing of his grandparents, whose bodies were found decomposing in their Glendale home on Sunday, has been in the hospital for several days after being injured in a car crash, authorities revealed Monday night.

I totally agree with Foxfire. In my opinion very little forward progress has been made since the discovery of Shirley Dermond's body -- over a year ago. This murder case by design has given up few clues. I still maintain the only likely break in this case, if it occurs, will come from someone who talks --- either with or without direct involvement in these murders. Think about it: there are multiple people directly involved in these murders, at a minimum three I believe, and likely one or two more outside of the murderers (partner, close friend, relative). Any one of them could "slip" in casual conversation or brag or be arrested on an unrelated charge or outstanding warrant and end up with a cellmate who turns informant. I'm not optimistic otherwise.
