IIRC, someone posted a link where in one of Sills' statements to the press, he believed the either the killer or one of the killers were known to the Desmonds. Does anyone know if Sills gave a reason for that conclusion? TIA
Maybe the victims were banged against an object like driveway pavers or a garage door frame?

I don't know if "he" left a clean scene Or killed Mr. D and returned him to is garage.I must have missed it( watching a movie) who is "he"? A person off the street? No offense but the person you speak of is vile and sick,( not that this killer isn't but,) and couldn't leave a "clean" scene and make a statement that this person has. Who is "he"?
ETA: time to eat homemade Taco Soup, starving. bbl
Just thinking out loud....
Maybe the perp(s) beheaded Mr D while in the boat. Easier to clean the boat out in the middle of a lake and not be caught. Hose off all the debris/remains from the decapitation right into the waters.
Why not just decapitate him on the premises? Maybe because if someone approached the home the perp wouldn't be caught in the action and therefore could claim they just found Mr D.
I too think there will be an arrest in a matter of weeks.
if in the boat, even while done postmortem, I would think that would leave perp(s) quite a mess. But you are right, it would explain why there was no obvious scene of decapitation. Even with him being deceased as it was performed, I cannot imagine it would be bloodless. Much less bloody than with a living victim but some mess involved nonetheless.
Russell Dermond has paid taxes on a 23-foot boat, which Sills said the couple recently sold, and Dermond reportedly owned fast-food restaurants. Tax records connect him to a Wendy's and a Chick-fil-A.
This case hits too close to home- geographically, and because I have a 92 year mother.
I interviewed for a job at RP in 2006 and security was strict when I was allowed in, back when RP was family owned. Had to show DL, was escorted to bldg, pass placed in car with expiration date and time, and had to return pass when leaving.
I have been to that Publix and I hope they have reviewed all the video from it and the surrounding stores. What about the video from the orange big box store nearby?
Could someone have punctured Mr. D's tire there and followed him home to "help" when it went flat? Fixed it for him in RP and followed him to make sure he got home safely?
Sharp objects/ tools for beheading in a garage? How about the garage door track?I have seen the results of fingers grabbing a garage door track at a construction site. Not the brightest ceiling stippler and it was his first day on the job. 911, hospital, finger reattachment, and a call to risk management. I had no idea they could slice like that. I hope somebody has swabbed that track.
Does this post help in anyway to the facts of this case? Is this just water cooler banter for you? This is a serious crime case. Just stop the bantering(waiting for my TOS).:banghead:
I must have missed something today. Has Sills said that a crowbar or something similar is the weapon? I have only heard the reporter in the video say that LE was returning to the home to look for a "crowbar or whatever". I did not think she was giving a quote but rather was explaining what the LE would do now that a cause of death has been determined. I just took it to mean that LE would be looking for a weapon that could cause a blunt head injury. Has something been reported that gives more details about the injury?
I used to work with victims of domestic violence. The most often used weapon that caused injury to the victim's head was fists but it was FEET that caused worse damage.
We haven't heard anything about any footprints on the property. I wonder if any were found.
One more thought... when the fisherman said that the body was "hung up" in the tree line, he didn't mean it was hanging. It may have had the appearance of being hung but that is not what he meant. "Hung up" means to be stuck or snagged. He said the body was floating. He was most likely saying it looked like the body had floated into the tree line and gotten snagged there.

Sills said he doesn't know if Mr. D was even killed there. There could be a crime scene that is not known.
Could have happened on the boat. Boats can be hosed down.
I am using killer and "he" interchangably. Sorry.
Could be killers -Or Three men in a tub for all I know!
Moo
Yum, can I have a bowl too? I have been craving Mexican. That did it. I am caving and getting take out.

With the exception of taking Mrs. Dermond. There is nothing accidental or random to this at all. It has all the markings of a mob or possibly drug cartel hit .
Hope your mexican was great, my Taco Soup is so awesome, OT),
I thought you had a someone in mind as in "he", I doubt it was a she. I believe they were to elderly to get involved in something illegal, with their full knowledge. I'm repeating myself, but I believe someone wanted this to look 1 way and "staged" it that way.JMO
