I had read that article about an hour ago. Curious.
I wonder if Mr. D. was racist? Or came across that way to someone? Taking his head is soooo physically, literally, and to-the-soul hateful.

IDK, maybe just not "his kind of people" OR maybe, you know, some want what they want and will do anything to get it regardless of the laws and if they were breaking any, apparently if the report was correct about Sills, he won't have it if it aint by the book of law

So, they will SAY he's racist andn probalby did, I have to read up more on this, I've been living in a bubble !!

ATL, imo, at this point I truly do not believe they know for sure that the Dermond's murder/s wasn't a predator..JMO, due to the indicators.
ATL, an aware informed citizenry is a much safer citizenry, imo..

Being local, I find it very interesting that they did not name the subdivision or the street....being a local...it makes me ponder what Foxfire just said upstream about not having information you want to know. If it was near me, I think I would want to know.

Why would the media not include such information as to the location on this? Protecting property values? I dunno?

I think we are not even sure there ARE\WERE any tapes.

Cannot remember the wording but something to do with police wanting to track down any information possible about a man who was inquiring after video tapes from the Huddle House.

So could just have been someone inquiring if they had surveillance and the employee found them or their question odd and phoned in the tip.

ETA I just had the most bizarre thought - what if its a WSer or someone like us, who follows true crime on some other forum? What if the person was just chatting an employee up and asked if they had heard about the murders and what was the local scuttlbutt and I notice there is a boat dock down the road a pice, do you all have exterior surveillence etc etc

I don't think that SoSueMe and Tricia would be happy with that type of pr! What would be worse for that person, arrest or a 3 day vacation to band camp :floorlaugh:

I cannot rule out a true crime person getting into this and asking the locals questions about the case. It makes sense that someone like a WebSleuther would think to ask if the Huddle House had tapes and then forward that information on to Sheriff Sills.

IIRC, in a previous thread, someone mentioned a "joint property" deed (M/M D AND M/M C). Was there only one such "jointly owned" property OR two (the second being M/M D with a IK and PK)? It's highly likely that none of this is important (and it's possible this has been discussed/dismissed) but I found it odd that there were two properties.

I am only on page 4 of this thread but wanted to ask questions about the Huddle House guy. So a random guy goes in to Huddle House and asks to see their surveillance videos? Surely an employee of Huddle House asked the obvious question..."WHY???" Did someone get his name?
This may have already been answered but bear with me.

Also, I am just assuming but on Thursday when Russell went to Publix which is one-third of a mile from the Huddle House, I think he may have gone into one of the banks between Huddle House and Publix to get cash for the party.

There are 3 possible banks, Wells Fargo, Bank South, and B,B & T. If he is the killer then something happened he is worried about. Did he follow Russell and that was caught on video?

Nuwaubians continues to fight for the Freedom of Dr. Malachi Z. York
I know many people expected that the Nuwaubians were going to disperse like salt in water once the founder of this many organizations end up in maximum prison for 135 years. I know Sheriff Sills probably envision that Nuwaubians were gonna be NO MORE. But what they didn't know is that Dr. Malachi Z. York was training leaders and now followers. And that's why even after over eight years after Dr. York's incarceration... Nuwaubians in many genre and several others are still fighting for their Master Teacher's FREEDOM, or should I say THE SUPREME GRAND MASTER TEACHER.

This is my first case here on a forum. After hearing about the murder/kidnapping I Googled and not much came up with "Dermond" "RD" in the first day or two after they found Mr. D...WS was in the top 10 as I remember. Maybe the top 4.And I remember thinking "what is that?" Websleuths? Hmmm. So glad I joined a few days later! Guess I was too busy with the ID Channel and Dateline..

I hope LE was looking at those few listings...

Wow. This post led me to do a little research into this group. They have some bizarre beliefs and apparently have many followers still, even though their "leader" is in prison now. What stuck out to me is he was indicted on May 2, 2002. I wonder if there are any civic-type groups in the area (or even individuals) that had an important role in the prosecution of this man.
