This thread seems to be winding down, but I came across the article from 2018, when Mr. Hackman was 88 and buying an e-bike to ride around Santa Fe, which he was known to do.

I like this photo of him. Yes, he may look old, but l think he looks hale, happy and alert.

Haha, yeah, maybe I’m not a good judge of age from appearances. My dad always looked younger than his age. I still remember the time he was in the hospital, and he must’ve been in his 80s. The nurse asked me, “So, you’re his wife? Me: “Uh, no—I’m his daughter.” 😑😡 She tried to cover by saying, “Oh, well, you never know. Modern families these days…”
Then again, I guess it is true in this case, with Betsy 30 years younger, lol.

ADMIN NOTE:

One of THE most basic principles of WS is that of being VICTIM FRIENDLY.

Families have different dynamics for many different reasons. Just because a particular family's dynamics don't fit a specific vision of what someone else thinks it should be doesn't make any of these family members less of a victim.

Stop the victim blaming.

Thank you.

Interesting.

In the article, Kesler, the 'personal contractor' who first notified LE of his (and the community security guard's) finding at the BA / GH house said this:

"We were working on a job and sweeping mouse s**t and piss, and [a] guy came onto the job and got it [Hantavirus], and he was dead in no time." Note: 2nd bracket and bold added by me.

I thought I'd point that out to emphasize hantavirus can kill quickly.* While not determined by LE (yet), I can easily accept 2/11 or 2/12 as BA's date of death. I would not be surprised if she was in 'scramble mode' on 2/11 to get required provisions before she 'crashed'. She may have presumed she had the Flu, RSV or Covid, and was sadly wrong.

A representative of the Hackman estate is seeking to block the release of photographs, videos and reports pertaining to the couple's deaths. It sounds like the case is headed to court. A temporary injunction is in place. I had thought the Sheriff's office had announced records would be released any day now, but when I went to find the information it was gone. This is why. ( There is a mistake about Hackman's children's names, which I'm sure you'll all notice.)

Wow, he went from “I’m not speaking about this again” to this interview and now to “I’m writing a book” very quickly.
On the one hand, it was good to learn that someone was concerned enough to check on the Hackmans and then tell us what really happened. On the other hand, he's going to write a book?

W a few (clumsy, inept?) online searches I have not seen any info about a service, burial or
other disposition of remains. Not even saying private family service.

Anyone?

ETA: Well, here's something

Re: what is the mistake about the name?
The article says: "However, court records indicate notices of Peters' appointment as the estate representative were mailed to Christopher Hackman, Elizabeth Jean Hackman and Leslie Anne Allen, the actor's three children with his first wife, Faye Maltese." Isn't Christopher his nephew and didn't he have three daughters? It sounds like one daughter didn't receive estate information. My mistake!

In 1956, Gene Hackman married Faye Maltese (1928–2017), with whom he had one son and two daughters: Christopher Allen, Elizabeth Jean, and Leslie Anne.

Yes - the Medical Examiner said that, but she also explained that the cardiopulmonary phase is preceded by a period of three to six days of feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms.

No that is his son. There are two daughters and one son. But I still don’t understand the “name mistake”

There is no name mistake, it was MY mistake! Thank you for the correction. 😆 And I'll correct my original post.
