Emeralgem, you may be right. Out of all of us, who really knows? I suspect the complete truth may never be known. I think we are all in agreement as to Misty holding the key to this whole case. LE has told us this much. So 10 to 11 hours would be around 4:30-5:30 p.m. on February 9th? You might be right.
After all this time, I'm just having a problem as to why LE has not boldly pointed toward RC. They DO seem to have a problem with implicating him with his "stated" alibi. I had hoped LE would start to leak tidbits about their doubts as to RC, but so far, I haven't seen it and like others, I have looked vigilantly for it. I don't want to believe a father could hurt his own child, but I have never thought Haleigh's death was intentional. We know that it could happen and it does happen, more times than we want to acknowledge. As for myself, I have never been able to reconcile Ron's behavior with someone who is completely innocent in this case. Maybe one could excuse a few of his actions, blunders and misspeaks, but collectively, not all of them over this 15 month period. At the very least, I believe RC is guilty of being complicit in covering a crime and hindering an investigation into the death of his own daughter.
Even with all of this said about Ronald Cummings, you have to look at the other side of the coin which is Tommy. It's no secret that there is no love lost between Tommy and Ron, yet neither will throw the other totally under the bus. I think Tommy is in this deep and not only deep, but very deep, as is Misty. Although Misty will throw Tommy under the bus with the everchanging direction of the wind, I don't recall Tommy ever throwing her under the bus. Tommy has been protecting not only himself, but also his baby sister, not RC. I suspect if it weren't for his own involvement and that of his sister, he would have thrown Ron under long ago.
As for who Tommy was referring to, as being responsible for taking Haleigh, in the jailhouse phone call to Flora Hollars, it sure does sound to me like it was Joe. As far as who Tommy was referring to when he said, he can't get to any of us now, that sure does sound like Ron to me. If Ron were the one calling the shots because it was HIS daughter who "got stole" and he was the one controlling this situation, then perhaps it was Ron telling them all to keep their mouths shut or else.
Then you have cousin Joe. It's not out of the realm of possibility that crazy Joe (their words, not mine) is the culprit in this whole mess. Afterall, Misty and Chelsea have been throwing him into the mix for some time now. Yeah... sidetracking here, Chelsea seems to throw herself into this mess at the strangest of times, doesn't she? Just how did that van parked at Chelsea's, with the wheels turned a certain way, get from her house to Ron's? Or hey, was it ever really at Ron's house? Wasn't Misty driving it that day? How did it get back to Chelsea's? Then how did Misty get from Chelsea's to Ron's? But wait, Misty was left with the Altima that night, according to a neighbor. Is the blue van a red herring? Okay, forget the blue van. LE had it for some time and released it, if that tells us anything. What it tells us, I'm not sure, I'm just confused by all the switching of vehicles in this case and imo, that's RasinCharlie's expertise anyway.
Onward, if Joe did this unspeakable act that caused Haleigh's demise, why would Ron protect him? I call it protecting Joe when Ron states there was no fight with this cousin and this cousin wasn't at the house. At the very least, Ron certainly wasn't pointing LE in Joe's direction to my knowledge. Just maybe Ron liked having something over on Joe. Yeah, it's pretty dispicable, but we can't think logically or rationally here. I wonder why Misty went to Tennessee? I wonder if Misty picked up any sort of payoff (be it drugs or guns) from cousin Joe for someone?
The possibilities in this whole sordid mess seem endless. I don't care if I'm right or wrong about this case. Puzzles intrigue me and this is the puzzle that keeps on giving. I would imagine that there will be plenty of straw hats for us all to eat when this is said and done. Either that, or we will all starve to death because this case may never truly be solved.
Whatever happened to Haleigh, one thing is certain, she was failed by many and most certainly by those who knew her best. It is my hope that the future will hold brighter things for Junior and that the families on all sides of these two children have learned some very valuable lessons. Children are precious cargo and need to be treated as such.
fftopic: I just reviewed again the AH interview with misty about her explaining what she did that night. She was carefree and had everything down to a science. She stated with no hesitation that she called her mother because she was scared. BUT she caught herself...and added, of course that was after rc arrived home. Definite change in voice pattern after that...totally strange.
