Well the other theory that people hang onto has came to absolutely zero in 28 years... In least we have a word of a professional police force investigating and some pretty telling circumstantial evidence not just a failed detective selling books and a 1000 and 1 youtube channels talking about dogs... Why would the detectives wish to come out and say what evidence they have that makes zero sense... And I dont blame them hanging on trying to piece together the final piece of the puzzle

I think material evidence & CB being a predatory paedophile with an obsession for abducting little blond girls may be reason CB is widely known. Not that dastardly police force investigating it…..

IMO the PJ, the resort & the family failed MM.

The resort knew that burglars were targeting their complex - yet nothing was done to bolster security, inform the residents or safeguard them.

Hindsight is painful sometimes.

Weak security & the opportunity of a child left alone is haunting.

Burglaries, lurkers, ground floor apartments targeted , windows, shutters being opened, serial sexual offender in the area.
Those were some of the troubling things going on in that area. It wasn’t until grange got involved that all of these pieces were brought together.

I mention PJ, at that time, in that area, more on their attitude and approach after the incident/incidents (e.g. Hazel also).

It's not even worth talking about their behavior on prevention (apart from resources and facilities limitation). It's all about attitude, motivation, credibility and competence for their own self-esteem.

CB in that and their wild west, doing what he wanted, repeating crimes under their noses. For years.

Why did GM say in his 4/5 statement that he entered by the locked front door of the apartment then? He knew the patio doors were open and they were the closest entry to 5A from the Millenium.

Why then by 10/5 did he change his statement to him entering via the patio doors?

Why did ROB (I think it was him not MO) make a statement that said he checked on the McCann kids but specifically did not see MM and in doing so absolve himself from being the last person to see her alive?

These are a couple of small points relevant to the last page of this thread but there are many more.

Together, these things point in a direction away from an abductor and CB.

Specifically related to CB, what points points to him entering 5A on 3/5?

I’ll venture that its just a phone call that put a phone somewhere near PDL.

It must have been so easy for him. He knew so well PdL, the OC, the apartments. As also, the Algarve where he offended at his pleasure.

There is no way to go to Mars, then to Jupiter and back to Earth, trying to complicate the crime scene like the most complex puzzle ever known.

Yet here we are , 18 yrs after the fact, 8 yrs of investigating CB , 5 yrs almost to the day of declaring to the world they had a prime suspect and no prospect of charges ,if the evidence didn't exist of a stranger going into 5a on the night of 3/05/07 and taking MM it won't exist today.
OG told us in 2013 that a man seen carrying a child fitting a description close to that of MM was seen at circa 10pm , he's the key always has been.

The building where McCanns stayed was not a part of the resort complex. Just a nornal block of privately owned flats, some of them rented for resort guests by Mark Warner and other companies.

Please remind me of the name of the witness who overheard GM talking to his family at around midnight? Did he confirm the “jemmied” claim in his statement?

The sequence of communication that facilitated the announcement of the abducted child and jemmied windows on morning TV at roughly 7:00 a.m. on the 4/5 was quite remarkable.

If CB was responsible, he was in through the patio doors, in gloves, opening the window to either escape from or use as a lookout but definitely not opening them by force, applying ether to MM, not waking the twins, escaping through the window or the patio doors, while carrying MM… all the while not being seen despite the heavy parent traffic before vanishing without a trace.

And people say we need to look for a simple solution.

Hardly mysterious that the colloquial description (never said by anyone actually present at the scene of the crime) used by a distressed family member reacting to a phone call has been totally misinterpreted as so much was in the early stages of the investigation..
