This was on Sky this morning .. seems M.Brunt made enquiries with HCW yesterday ( 16th Jan ) and got an email reply or suchlike shortly after .

imo .. it’s worth remembering HCW’s focus just now is on progressing the appeal against the recent acquittal . They’re not likely to be charging re. MM while that is going on .

The judge at the recent trial stated that the prosecution’s earlier statements and focus on MM was a major reason CB was acquitted , in those other cases ( subject of this thread ) .

Therefore .. imo .. HCW will be doing everything possible to ensure the appeal works .. and downplaying the MM angle for now would certainly tie in with that , not wanting the same criticisms to be directed his way re. said appeal .

The appeal was filed timeously against the judgement of the Braunschweig court.

Strangely reflecting the defence application for overturning the rape conviction against CB in 2019.
The appeal court dismissed that appeal.

The decision regarding the prosecution appeal has not been returned as yet therefore is still under consideration by the appeal court judges.

Not sure, but I think reinstatement of the arrest warrant is part of the current appeal submitted by the prosecutors.

The intention of the premature release of pointers detailing CB's identity is in part having the intended effect of throwing a spanner into the work of the investigators working on his crimes. My opinion.
Note the difference in the conduct of the rape trial of 2019 prior to CB's notoriety becoming known and that of the rape trial post identification in 2024 which took four years to get off the ground.
Then concentrated during trial and judged as though it was the MM trial despite five indictments - not one of which remotely made reference to MM.
It began with efference to MM and ended with the judge's comments on MM.

When it comes to CB I think we all add our own context which will be opposites for obvious reasons.

2 things that are true

1 - They haven’t charged
2 - They haven’t dropped the case

tbh I am not sure he DID think that. I think Gamble though they had hard evidence based on what HCW has been saying for years and it was fair of him to think that also.

I’ve always picked up on this unusual air of resentment against Jim. I’m guessing it’ll be because Jim speaks up for the McCann’s & speaks negatively about CB & highlights CB’s criminality.

CB is German as are the parties involved. Trying to use somebody’s nationality in order to devalue their opinion isn’t good. But that type of noise is just so typical on McCann related threads.
