'Hazel was raped and tortured in Portugal, 20 miles from Praia da Luz'...................

The ex-holiday rep claimed Brueckner was her attacker and waived her anonymity to give evidence at his trial last year.

He was acquitted but an appeal is pending.

Hazel is so terrified of him after giving evidence that she plans to move house.'

Also she says: "He must also know if my appeal is granted it could be really dangerous for him. It could put him in jail forever."

Is her appeal different from the prosecution's?

Separate , her case is also with ECHR on the grounds of poor investigation and failure to forensically secure the scene.

Then how could he go to prison if her appeal is granted?.

So many victims don't even report the crime because of fear. What she did was amazing.

So I hope whatever she needs-- new home, identity, etc. --she will be able to have. And she can live feeling unafraid and often happiness and peace.

@C.greek Overturning the original decision I presume I’m unsure what the ECHR process is but Hazel is pushing for a full investigation on her case.I hope she is successful.

We know from McCann/ Healey V Portugal all domestic remedies had to be exhausted before going to the ECHR, is it the case here?

Brueckner speaks in a field - but can't discuss Maddie case:

He claims there is a witch hunt against him.

Opinion only - Per Daily Mail: Indeed, the plan is to move him to Munich - in the south of the country - at the earliest opportunity.

One of the top three most expensive cities to live in in Germany, IMO.

So that he will be
less conspicuous – and, consequently, more difficult to track.

From the article if he's not the responsibility of the prosecutors office then is the investigation closed. He's tagged, allegedly facing a court date, some ones responsible.

The suspect said Wolters refused to meet him, adding that he was told he was no longer 'their responsibility' because he had been convicted and released.

„His arguments were without exception personal matters that do not fall within the competence of the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office," said the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office“

Thanks the BZ paywall article explains it well, as ever with the brit press it's sensationalist.

That would be against Portugal . As they didn't bring any charge against CB, they cannot be responsible for any failure of a german Court.

His remedy, if he has one, would likely be a civil action against HCW or his superiors for what was said to the media

He has gumption, I'll give him that. And that's saying a lot, because I don't want to give him anything.

On second thought, I take it back. There's something grossly brazen about, even when looking at what he's been found guilty of, separated from acquittal, associations, allegations, etc.

It's beyond gumption.

Furthermore, just because evidence can't be used against him in a court of law doesn't negate what's in it.

He is a dangerous predator.

Fortunate then that retrictions have been put on his movements

He needs to visit a place like Skidmore, Missouri. They know how to take care of menaces to society like him. IMO

Yes. The whole thing is just so transparent. Sex pest trying to change perception & score himself better digs.

it’s reported (sky news, Martin brunt, YouTube, yesterday, outside SY HQ) that SY are about to travel to Germany to meet with their counterparts. Possibly a very significant development.

CB can keep crying about the mess he’s got himself into. If he desperately wants to talk & change his life, the solution is simple - agree to talk to the police & do an interview…… But I think we all know he is never going to do that.
