The govt is the taxpayer abd they seem loathe to pay for schools

I agree and it sucks IMO. That also was my point to make the Govt. more accountable for what they put on the people and then expect them to deal with it. Accountability.

No, American tax dollars go to help pay for public education. I don't even have children

And who paid for your education?

What is your answer to the problem?

I am sure that you could anticipate what my solutions would be. Ban those weapons that are capable of killing dozens in minutes and have guns registered and shooters licensed.

Yes they have their budget of course for whatever they are willing to spend on any different aspect, health, education etc., but it is sadly lacking in a lot of areas because huge amounts of money are being spent elsewhere, so not enough for the really important things, IMO.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5503145/Dylann-Roofs-sister-arrested-bringing-knife-school.html

The sister of the Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof was arrested Wednesday after bringing a knife to school with her and threatening students participating in the walkout against gun control.....

....n her Snapchat post she made clear she disagrees with the walkout and went on to say: 'we know it's fixing to be nothing but black people walkin' out anyway.'

'Your (sic) walking out for the allowed time of 17 min, they are letting you do this, nothing is gonna change what tf you think it's gonna do?' she wrote in the post.

'I hope it's a trap and y'all get shot we know it's fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway. No offense ofc buuut (sic).'

On her person when she was arrested was a knife, marijuana and pepper spray.

Disgusting

Yes and that brings it all back on those that commit those types of crimes. They do it for the most impact & shock value, and if they are determined they will find a way regardless, IMO.

Then why don't the rest of the western world's violent types find a way to kill people en masse? (terrorism aside). Why don't Canadian men do it, or Brits?

Well, her brother's 2nd amendment right has been good for him, hasn't it?

You have to wonder what kind of home those kids grew up in.

I wonder how many other people are thinking the student walk out is "only black students"

I don't know anything much about the countries you mention, so really can't say?

I thought Dylan was one of in his family. Guess not.

I hope Dylan can be studied but I guess he does not say much.

This pretty much negates any notion that Dylan was a bullied lone wolf, doesn't it?? Racism, intolerance and hate are products of nurture, not nature.

Or leftists. 'Only' being the operative word in that girl's ignorant statement.

What do you want to bet she had a confederate flag on display somewhere?

I agree.. obviously the facts are there (thanks :) ) but the unemployment rate shouldn't be an excuse to discontinue your education.

100-percent agree. It’s never a good reason to punt an education, imo. [emoji432] [emoji433] [emoji851] ❤️

She is publicising it, not organising it. The NRA's response to the protest was to post a pic on twitter of an AR15.
Wow posting that?!! That's beyond cold. That's Sub-Zero frigid heartless.

My post was really in regard to making a statement to the Govt. about school shootings, that why should parents send their kids to school if schools can't be made safe for their children to attend them. The onus is really on the Govt. because they are the ones that institute the laws that it is mandatory for kids to attend school in the first place. And therefore the onus is also on them to keep those places safer.

The government is of the people for the people.

That’s us. Not “them.”

OK, how many school shootings in Australia have you heard of? You must know that we have violent types too and bullied kids and mental illness. Why don't they find the will or the means to shoot up schools?

And that is a whole other issue that the rest of the world finds hard to comprehend. This mistrust and sometimes downright hatred of 'The Government'.
