Ledger's former fiancée Williams failed to talk sense into her now deceased former partner.

"She cared for him deeply but his life was unmanageable," said the source. "As much as she wanted to stay together, he was a different person these past couple of years.

And more comments from friends & work associates about Heath's change of behavior in the months leading up to his death:

It all sounds very complicated to me. 6 different prescription drugs found in his room? A breakup with Michelle, not being able to see his daughter much. I think he was a very sensitive person. Plus he's had some very intense roles lately with possible pneumonia on top of it all.

I just saw a report that after Heath's body was found by the maid and masseuse, the masseuse made 3 phone calls to Mary-Kate Olson, BEFORE calling 911. Explanation: she was calling MKO to find out what do do.

Ok... he isn't breathing... perhaps it is obvious he is dead... how hard is it to realize that you need to call 911 IMMEDIATELY?!?!?! And obviously this isn't unusual... I think something along the same scenario played out when Anna Nicole Smith was found dead.

I think they probably do it out of fear and I think it's understandable what with the papparazzi and media these days. Once they make that 911 call, the whole world knows.

Dying time is truth time," he said. "This is the best thing that ever happened to that family.

The Phelps are a pack of backward, hate mongers. Pay no mind to what this lunatic says or that of any of his offspring. These are people that have their little children holding signs proclaiming "God hates f*gs". They stick them kids on highways and anywhere else they can. Some members of Websleuths have even seen these people as they live close by to the knit wits. Rest in peace dear Heath.

As my aussie friends say, I would like to have a go at him one time, just once for the whole world to see. I wouldn't worry about him too much, he won't be continuing for long. Especially if he's using children.

Poor loved ones of Heath, I hope their not allowing this mess to sink into deep within their hearts. His parents appear to be strong, and I'm sure they have a great support system.

One of the networks had biography about Heath on and showed many interviews over the years. In an interview about one of his last movies he stated that he entered a rehab to do research on his part. I think this is the "rehab" he went into for a few days. I also noted that even in his early interviews he was fidgetingand moving around in all the interviews. In one he had an orange that he was playing with and peeling. I think interviews just made him uncomfortable and that's how he handled it.

I noticed he was fidgety as well. He said he was always "nervous" In interviews.

I've read comments in news blogs that he hasn't looked good recently. We have to bear in mind that actors must carry a certain look for the roles they play during the duration of the filming. I have seen Johnny Depp look scraggly (if that's even possible) to later learn that was his look in the film he was working on.

Couple that, though, with friends that said he seemed withdrawn lately and acting "funny". And he was taking it hard being apart from his daughter.

It seems pretty obvious to me his brain chemicals were messed up from something - be it prior drug use, depression or bipolar; and he was desperately self-medicating, trying to feel better.

HE was probably really proud about it; many men are and don't want to admit they need help. Jack Nicholson's remark is chilling to me - " I warned him.." (Or I told him); something like that.

I've been wondering...maybe these questions have been asked/answered....does anyone know when he scheduled the massage (was it that a.m., day before, etc.)? Also, if when the maid found him (around 12:00pm (I think) snoring loudly in the bedroom, if his body was going into some type of arrest or something, because they think he died around 1:30/2:00ish?

Just wondering....

True enough.

This may have already been touched upon, if so , i apoligize.

My brother in law passed away Oct.2004 of an 'accidental' overdose--- he was taking valuim, anti depressants of some kind, xanex, pain meds, and had a small tube of liquid
'methadone' that was was supposed to 'save' for the next day.
At 2 am my sister was awaken by him in the bathroom adjoining their bedroom- and saw him sip the dose of 'methadone' she reminded him
he was supposed to 'save that' for the next day. He told her he felt wired and couldnt sleep that the methadone would take the
'edge off' so he could sleep.
At 4 am he awoke her to tell her he loved her(not out of the ordinary for him..he did that alot)- she told him to shut up and go back to sleep--
at 7 am she got up to get ready for work, she was going to awake him to tell him 'bye ' but said he was snoring so loudly she thought
"he's really sleeping good" ,im not going to awake him.
At 10 ish their 3 yr old grandson was trying to awake him..he went to the living room and told his dad, my nephew, that he couldn't wake grandpa..
he usually did successfully every morning so my nephew went in to check on him and realized he wasn't breathing, called 911- tried CPR till
the ambulance got there but he was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived.
The reason I bring this up is the housekeeper states, at noon she heard Heath 'snoring' -----
This brings back to me not just the loud snoring my sister told of her hubby before his death but also a friend who lost her husband
last year-- she too, said he was snoring unusually 'loud' that morning before she found him dead a few hours later.
( To my knowledge he didn't abuse drugs ) his death was ruled like my brother in laws, a heart attack.
No autopsy was performed on my brother in law, but my sister is sure it was all the drugs that actually stop his heart---
I'm thinking this snoring ledger was doing was the same thing , heard it called 'the death rattle'.

No matter the cause ... so sad..

Hi dingo doggy. What a twisted thinking, heartless son of a beach:furious:! I don't know what kind of God that sorry excuse for a man (and his minions) worships, but that is not the God that I know. I hope Heath's family is able to shield themselves from at least some from this hateful campaign. How can anyone preach, "the word of God" with such hate? I recall hearing the saying, "The devil can quote the bible to do his own works". This saying personifies this, "preacher."

And, speaking in such an ugly way about Australia is hurtful. I love the aussies, dearly. Even if I didn't I wouldn't want for any person with a voice from this country to bad mouth them or any other country. Nothing good can come from it.

Death rattle-yep, same thing I thought when I read that. Sorry about your brother-in-law. I heard a relative's death rattle and mistakenly thought it was deep breathing, tho odd sounding. If you've never experienced this you would think snoring. You never forget it it once you have heard it.

Don't know about that. But one of the director's from a previous film wanted to meet with him while he was in NYC on Monday night. Heath told him Monday night wasn't good but Tuesday would be. The calls on Tuesday to Heath went unanswered.

My goodness, this just brought back some painful memories. I never even knew that this is what it was. My mother died of cancer when I was 18 (28 years ago). She spent the last 6 months of her life in the hospital (the last 2 months on a terminal floor). Two days before she died, she was heavily sedated on morphine (for the pain). I remember going into her room and her snoring loudly all the time. My sisters and would say we were thankful that she was sleeping. I always thought and prayed my mother would overcome the cancer. I didn't know that the snoring (which we thought) was really a death rattle and that her body was preparing to die. My goodness. So sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's passing Anniegirl...

I think the Americans overall love Australia and its people. That, "preacher" with a podium that unfortunately reaches far due to his outlandish, hateful beliefs is but one twisted man and his cohorts. He certainly doesn't represent what most of us think and believe, dear dingo.
