Hope Sykes arrested 1/20/2010

I can't remember, did Hope have pills in her hand? Please somebody spoil me and don't make me find the video. The only thing I can think of is that Hope grew up around that kind of language coming from her mother. Otherwise, it wouldn't just roll off her tongue like that. Seems to me that it all starts with a mother......no respect there, means no respect for teachers, LE, or anyone else in this world. Geez, this whole bunch is a bottom feeder society. Every time I listen to tapes like this, makes me appreciate more and more what lawyers and LE go through, day in and day out.

Iirc, the camera in the back seat was too close to Hope to get a clear shot of her-- at least what I saw was like that (I don't want to re-watch them either, lol). Seems to me the front cam caught her passing something back there though... probably wasn't a mint.

I guess the lawyers are talking to Hope and Misty about probation, drug court, etc...It makes me wonder if they are being up front with them about what they may be facing. It really doesn't jive with Ron's statement that the state offered him 25 years (I wonder if that's even true).

Wasn't that Hope in the back seat when they were discussing how many pills, and doing mental math, and Ron seemed to be using some sort of sign language to convey to her how much they were going to make?

Sorry Hope, that makes you just as guilty.

I thought Hope was the quiet one too, until now.

She sure was excited to tell mom about her special ride with Ron though, the high light of her day, I guess. So, Ron told her that they are offering him 25 years and that he wants to "take" her charge ? I'd get that offer in writing myself.

What??? How can someone "take" someone elses charges??

Hope - I'm not going to a program and doing rehab at the same time. :waitasec:

No Hope keep it up honey, Ron will be your charachter witness and get you off prison time.

Hope - I'll tell you what! I'm not going into boot camp, they think I'm bad now, wait till I get out.

Bad girl, whatcha gonna do when they come for you.

Hope strikes me as another Wangster wanna be. Yeah Hope, you tell em how it's gonna be. :croc:
This is exactly what I have been seeing from all these peoples myspace page when little Haleigh went missing...They are all thugs and wannabe gangstas..Purely sickening to me...Given the history of RC's arrest and sweaking thru with no jail time,,,I am afraid they are all right and this really wont mean much time in prison for any of them...They get out and continue their life of criminal activity until something happens to another child..I have NO sympathy for any of them...Being lazy, uneducated with a criminal mind, we will be hearing about these people again and again just like previous arrest of Rc with NO justice for Haleigh...

No, Ron is full of carp and knows these not so bright young ladies believe his carp.

Once charged, it remains your charge until the judicial system decides how to proceed, ie... guilty, not guilty, dismissed or nolle prossed (which means you go free until you get into trouble again and they bring the old charge back, or they find slam dunk evidence of your guilt, whichever comes first.)

And what is all the gushing over Ron ... I thought I needed to clean my ears for a min there (shaking head) What is it with the women surrounding Ron thinking he is all it ?

Mystic, Lots of times young girls have a crush on their cousins. I know I had a crush on one of my cousins, but I was eight years old. This girl is 19 FGS!! I can't believe at her age she would gush over sitting in a car with Ron. AND GOING TO COURT NO LESS!!

I hear banjos playing everytime I read the Haleigh forum.. poor little girl. She never had a chance with these yokels. I just knew that Misty stole the missing pills, guess it's confirmed now. She "cuffed" 2 pills from the "drugboy". I hope they all get long sentences. Keep them off the streets! I don't think a single one of them can straighten their lives out. They have no clue what that even means. The scum life is deeply embedded and is family tradition.

Yeah, Ron is so generously offering a deal that he knows he won't have to deliver on.

I wonder if he is offering to take Misty's charges too ?

Mom doesn't sound too impressed with the fact she rode with Ronal' (not a rock star from most people's point of view).

At least mom still has a functioning brain and is trying to guide this mess.

I so agree with everything you said....I dont want to get zapped by our favorite marian on duty here,,,,but,,I must say this...For all the people here who have not been affected or victimized by the likes of these yokels, this has to be the reason you can sympathise with anyone of these people...We are at a time, IMO when everyone looks to label "why" a person does what he does,,which IMO does nothing but make excuses for this kind of human behaviour...They are all lowlifes who steal, sells drugs, takes drugs,,, puts children in harms way,,,robs the blind even,,manipulates the system, throws the middle finger up at the system, and gets out,,just to do it again....Making excuses for the things they do is appalling to me in every sense of the word.....This yahoo is not a child,,she is someone who thinks she can do whateva she wants and "F" everybody else.....I hope she goes down hard...but I doubt she will....because of her age...

What I get from the tape is the State of Florida is going to be spending money on this girl the rest of her life.

I did not hear a single redeemable quality in the 15 minutes.

Am I correct in thinking KB has aked her sister(TN), her mother (AS) to be character witnesses for Hope. And are these women going to do the same for Ron C?

Not only did it pain me to hear her and think about all the lives lost in this case due to drugs and selfishness, but it scares me to think of all the thousands out there just like her. There is a long history of substance abuse in this family, IMO. This is just a window into that lifestyle. Those who have seen it in their own families know it. Those who haven't, here's a picture of what is going on all over our country.

<steps down from soap box>

One more thing I got from it.

There is no doubt in my mind now what her new tattoo says.

Same as Mistys.

Hope isn't stupid; she's well aware she's facing a long time. What she didn't realize is that her priors (she mentions 2 other charges; I assume she's speaking of the two that came in the months prior to this arrest) would follow her and be added on. She's a recidivist, and an unabashed one at that.

May her time in prison help her to find better coping skills; the ones she has now aren't working for her.

I have a feeling this is the cell block talk. Other prisoners are advising her on what she may get from what they know about minors facing similiar charges. They speak Hope's language and she understands them. Her attorney.......mmmmmmmmm.........not so much. Just a guess on my part.

Since my thought is about them all being an habitual offender, (dont know her priors) I wonder if the priors for every single one of these yokels will play a role in the sentensing phase of the drug charges....Hope, with her priors, Ron with his,,and Tommy C with his BandE charges,,,does anyone know how this will come into play when the judge passes down sentence on the current trafficing charges....I would like to know that justice will be serve on all of them and whateva priors they have,,,just add to their time....I see no redeeming qualities in any of them....The remainder of children involved with this group could only benefit with them being away for a long time....Poor Haleigh,,it is too late for her,,bless her heart,,,but sending these others away might give them a slightly better advantage.IMOO

There is a special this month on channel 101 on DTV called "The Oxycontin Express" that talks about the drug use in Florida and something like 85% of all Oxy scripts are written in Fla by those fly-by-night pain clinics...they followed a guy who went from doc to doc and gathered up enough scripts for thousands of pills in a couple of days...just getting the pills is a fulltime job for these folks, no time to worry about working or anything like family...and this guy's wife had already died of an oxy OD. One of the places he picked up a few pills when he was desperate was from a 78-yr old woman selling them from her apartment...
So there is obviously a huge problem in Florida and this bunch is right in the thick of things...

The way I see it with all of them is that there will be no lifestyle changes for the better whether they are in prison or on the streets. I don't see any redeemable qualities in any of them. At least in prison (and hopefully long sentences) they won't be procreating, and wreaking havoc in the community, and placing the youngsters in their families at risk. They can and will do all the drugs they can get their hands on in prison or in the streets. Let it be prison. They are not useful, productive citizens in any way.
