Hurricane Sandy updates

Just tried to call Mom, but no answer. Got a text from SugarQueen's DD that power is down in a lot of areas, and that she called my Mom and told her to get the flashlight ready, because it was getting bad.

Do I LOVE SQ's DD??? Yeah...yeah, I do.

And now I'm worried...I'll keep trying Mom.

Unconfirmed, but report that NYC's Bellvue Hospital is taking on water in the basement and thus can't start generators.

From our local weatherman

Monmouth County Fire, EMS, Police & NJSP Medevac Ops reports: "Per Hoboken NJ OEM: 'The Hudson River is flowing into Hoboken from both the north (around 15/16th Streets) and south, over railroad tracks to Observer Highway. If you are in a basement or street level apartment, please go upstairs now. There is major flooding and 70-90mph wind gusts.'"

Three emergency services sources report multiple structure fires on the Brick Township portion of the barrier island, adding that units cannot access the fires due an inability to reach the island (over-wash and bridge closed).

Our local guy is so invested in this because both his elderly parents live in NJ and that is where he is from

Noticing a green light show in the sky. I'm guessing lightning?!

WTH????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Seriously.

Looking at it in Philly. I thought my mom finally lost it.

Man, that sonic boom heard over Ocean City all the way to San Fran last week is kind of scaring me.
