Not funny. I do drive a white van, a high top chevy van. But I have a handicapped son, so it has a wheelchair lift on the side. Its white yet grey .

I cannot stop laughing! Cindersoot, you never told us you drive a van! We've been invaded!! Bwahahahaha

We weren't laughing at you. I think we were all just surprised. I really do appreciate you being so alert and reporting that creep!

On another note...

I've been marveling that an abductor would take two children in the middle of the day at a location that is 36 seconds (.2 miles - according to Google) from a police station but now I realize it's actually a fire station there on the corner of Gilbert.

I guess that wouldn't be such a deterrent. :sheesh:

Crazy that I can spend hour upon hour going over this case and have a basic fact like that all mixed up.

Wait! The police and fire dept. have the same address!

So, the police department is only .2 miles from where the bikes were found! 36 seconds!!

Does that strike anyone else as almost unbelievable? I know some perps. are actually drawn to risky situations but that is just hard to believe.

Please don't be offended, the humor comes mostly from the stress of this horrible situation combined with being on the edges of our seats looking for any and every white van possible, especially any at Meyer's Lake... so when we're all hyped up to see your pic of a white van at the lake, and it takes you several attempts, and we're on the edges of our seat.. then the first thing we say to ourselves is "whoa, you climbed right inside his van and took a pic of the driver's seat!"... then we realize that's not even the right van, you mean the one OUTSIDE the window...

well, that much stress, and waiting, and nerves, and whatnot just led to an outburst of laughter at the silliness of it all.

It so perfectly illustrates why this whole "white van" goosechase is so crazy, even if necessary.

Blessings to you and your son, I meant no disrespect. :)

I haveit saved in " My pictures'.

Start typing a new post. Click go advanced, then click on the paperclip (a box will open up). Click browse to find the file on your computer and click upload. Then click the little arrow next to the paperclip and select the file.

ETA: I see I was waaaaay late coming to this party. Lol.

Not funny, my son has cerebal palsy and is in a wheelchair. We drive a van we can afford, it has a wheelchair lift. So maybe you need to think, before you post.

Yes ma'am, I did.

Then I quoted your perfectly fine original reply to me, and responded to it with an explanation and an apology.

I'm sorry you felt it necessary to edit your post to more clearly single me out and make me feel bad. (ETA: well, it DID include a quote of my post, and my post only, despite several others noting the coincidence.. but it's been changed again.)

Miserable people inside are miserable people outside.

I hope you're just having an off day.

Like I said, blessings to you and your son.

Are you kidding me?

This guy actually is an RSO?

Oh wow....

We have a strong Italian population and they are very expressive people who love children.

Generalising I'm sure but they have a reputation as being very very soft where kids are concerned. Their kids are very important to them.

I know this is kinda OT but yes, my husband is part Italian and part Irish and I agree the "personal space" boundaries are way different than my background (basically "American mutt"). I know I commented on the cheek-touching thing earlier but in his family it wouldn't surprise me OR be "hinky." Thanks for the reminder.

I know the pic is bad, but when I got back to my vehicle I snapped it with my phone, didn't want to look suspicious.

Next time just pretend you are texting and then snap the picture. Lol.

Okay back to reality...... the pic I posted is the guy I saw, in his white van.

The interstate that runs by there is four lanes, eastbound and westbound divided by a grass median. eastbound two lanes, they'd be on the south side of any photo oriented with north as up, and are currently being completely rebuilt. All traffic east and west is going through the two westbound lanes on the north side of the median.

Ahh that makes WAY more sense, thank you!!

Which guy, dare I ask...

The one cindersoot posted about.

The one who made her hinky meter go off because his body language and behaviour was ODD.

Cindersoot if he was an RSO, you've probably saved some kids. What's the bet he's not ALLOWED to go near a playground?

How many RSO's do you guys HAVE prowling around free?

Unreal....sorry but I think if they've hurt children, they need to be locked up for good. No parole, no nothing.

You can't rehabilitate them. Throw away the key.

I do that all the time, pretend that I am texting but take photos. My phone makes a sound though when it takes a pic so I have to cough at the right time. LOL.

That van looks more like a 2011/2012 Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country. I could have sworn in a different thread you called it an Oldsmobile? Or am I seeing things?

^^^^^^In case you don't already take advantage of the services provided by The Arc, here is the listing for Iowa.

My sister is the head of Arc here. Our brother is multiply handicapped - blind, mentally retarded, mild CP. Please give your son a big old HUG from Dum-Dum.

I'm still unsure if we are certain that the guy she saw is a RSO?

My first guess based in her description is that his wife doesn't want him smoking, so he stopped by the lake to smoke. The minivan has windows so it doesn't immediately scream pedovan to me.
