What if the perp (or at least the person that made initial contact) was a female?

Would 2 girls be more apt to go with a female, they might know Or not know, maybe if told, 'oh Lizzy, Lyric, hurry come with me your mother, father, sister grandma is sick/hurt'...they sent me to fetch you fast! they will get your bikes later....hurry!

:goodpost:

This is exactly how I see it.

while I think more than one person was eventually involved, for some reason I can't shake the feeling a female initiated first contact with the girls. Possibly someone that knew one of their parents, even in passing. Maybe someone whose path had crossed the girls at some point in the past. I don't know , someone jealous, or spiteful? Maybe some sick twisted person, 'well if I can't have my girls(s) then you can't either.' someone that wanted to inflict emotional/physical pain on certain family members?
There is a bunch of sicko men out there, but behind a sicko man, there is liable to be a sicko woman, imho.

What if the female could have been perceived as 'cool'...what if she radiated confidence in her task to 'fetch them' or lure them, what have you. I really wonder how 'accepting' two girls would be to go with such a person?
Or geesh, what if they went into a house?

I am not 100% the girls disappeared from Meyers Lake, where the bikes were found.

:what:

The ticket sales go straight to the personal Paypal account of the organiser!!!!

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really do admire her for doing this. It is a huge project. Its been advertised all over the place. Billboards, newspaper ads etc. I know, I know.... maybe they should focus on finding the killer. I agree, but at this point in time, it serves as a distraction, to focus on something positive.

HOWEVER, I must say that when I read this article, I was a bit concerned. Although I think their intentions are good, they have to go about collecting and accounting for donations correctly. Receipting correctly is important. The organization receiving the donation must be a 501c3 organization or otherwise able to accept donations for a tax deduction if the individual or company wishes to claim their gift as tax deductible. Or if a person buys an auction item worth $100 for $100, well then their tax deduction is zero, because they got something in return. I think the organizers hearts are in the right place, but I just hope that they are running these donations through a nonprofit in order to be above board.

Maybe they are doing it all through the church. Churches don't file tax returns, so maybe that's the case. Ugh. Makes my head spin.

Off-topic but I just want to say thank you to all the posters who responded about the hibiscus. I knew about the tropical hibiscus. Also have a rose of sharon bush in my yard but did not know it was also a hibiscus. Plan to search this weekend for a nursery that has the swamp mallows. If I can grow them, I will not overwinter tropicals anymore.

Sometimes it is hard to figure out why others do what they do. There were several dysfunctional/addicted folks in the family I married into. They did strange things in strange ways. Made sense to them in their way of thinking. Many times they and their actions made no sense to me. A councillor friend told me that it was like apples and oranges, their logic was not my logic, and it would always be that way.

Then add in the evil of meth, a friend's son tore apart their home under the influence of meth, it looked like a tornado had gone through the place. The next day he claimed he didn't remember a thing. A neighbour saw through a window and phoned the parent's cell. When they got home to the destruction, their son didn't even recognize them. Their son was a wonderful person until he tried meth, he was hooked from his first try. What a nightmare.

Maybe that is why much of what went on in the disappearance of Lyric and Lizzie doesn't make sense to many of us. Actions done by completely different mind processes. The riding around on the quad is an example. We see a time gap. Dan may simply see a father riding his quad looking for his daughter, searching again after the others had searched the same area.

Maybe he did what made sense to him, the way his mind was working at that time. Maybe driving around on his quad then made him feel like he was helping search for Lyric and Elizabeth, no matter what time it was? Maybe he had a feeling they were not in the lake, had been taken away, and he hoped to find and rescue them? Maybe he was riding around mainly to soothe his own conscience, or he was putting on a show? I don't know. It is very hard to fathom what is going on in someone else's mind, especially if there is dysfunction and addiction. imo

I agree. Maybe he hoped the girls would return to the park/bikes. Using a quad you can quickly cover large areas while searching. Dan needed a means to legally arrive at the lake he surely didn't want to end up :jail:. Guys who have lost driving privileges (too many DWIs) resort to lawn mowers, ATVs and bicycles to get around. (Does Dan have a driver's license? I have no clue)
I am not so sure it was first thought to notify him of the missing girls right away as he was not that involved in their life at that time, even though he is the bio-Dad. Regardless, IMHO, I believe he is hurting at the loss of a child as would most parents -

Thanks, I didn't know that.

I never want to think a parent could do anything bad to a child or a family member but it just isn't so with mental illness or addiction to sex or drugs. To be honest, when I first heard of the girls disappearance, my first gut told me, it was DM. Honestly. No custody rights, meth dealer/user, at home "taking a nap" cough, access to an ATV or girlfriends vehicle. I've tried hard not to look at anyone in the family, including DM.

To lay upon a man who already lost his child but spit in the face of authorities by violating his parole & he had already turned down a plea deal the day before they went missing...I can't turn my head from that now with the extra charges the state is going for. Not in any way shape or form.

Hopefully, it won't end or stagnate like Haleigh Cummings case where those who know would rather serve their time as drug dealers than child murderers or worse. Misty was the one to benefit the most. Juvi murder charge equaled what the state would give her for multiple drug sales. 8 of them with mandatory minimums & maximums, no exceptions. Be a stupid drug dealer or a child murderer? She would serve approximately the same time. gar...

I pursue multiple possibly perps so don't hold me to my feelings about dad. I don't want anyone in the family involved. It makes it so much more horrible for a family to heal & society to understand somedays. Especially from what I know about all of this.

Good Morning Everyone! Hopefully today will be the day something new breaks in this case for the girls! :please:

I am hopeful that LE will get the break they need soon. I know of so many child abduction/murders that have never been solved, and it would hurt so terribly if Lyric and Lizzie never receive justice.

I think at this point, the DCI should release another statement about what to look for re: suspicious behavior, etc. Here it is again, just to refresh our memory:

http://www.newtonindependent.com/ne...-help-in-finding-missing-evansdale-girls.html

Regardless of whether the person(s) responsible for taking Elizabeth and Lyric reside, work, or have acquaintances in the area, or possibly came to the area to commit a crime, it is virtually impossible for any person to live, travel, or exist in a vacuum. Someone knows something that might be valuable to law enforcement.

BBM

I certainly wish this "someone" would speak up.

Double Homicide

Ty, Unique.

Just to clarify this in my mind... you're saying that it's on the IA ColdCase website (which we just learned from eileen is not a LE site) that you searched and found the "Double Homicide" designation listed under Black Hawk County? tia

  • #1,776
I haven't seen it described as a homicide anywhere. The only word I see that describes this case is abduction.

Sweet story... hopefully the need will never arise for this little girls' parents to donate a bench or rose bush in her memory...

This topic arose because I posted last night that the Iowa Cold Cases website showed Lyric and Lizzie listed as Homicides.

I was told by Eileenhawkeye that the website was not an LE site, it's a site belonging to a writer.

So I've seen these deaths described as homicides, but not on any official site.

Thank you Squeeze! You're a local! I trust you. I agree with you that it does serve as a positive distraction. :seeya:
