He might NOT have done his research about the lack of insanity plea in Idaho.
No insanity plea but mental health can be used in several aspects of cases in Idaho. For example competence to stand trial.

We have seen how suspects (Lori Vallow) can dance around Insanity in Idaho.... perhaps this is his perpdom will act as well........ delays delays delays.
Oooooooh I didn’t think of Lori Vallow. Very good point.

In my opinion, there’s no evidence for it at all, and it’s definitely not a needed factor for explaining how the murders were committed.

The victims probably asleep, certainly caught unawares at a time of day when reactions have slowed; three out of four victims petite girls; a substantial possibility of some, at least, of the victims having taken some alcohol. The element of surprise itself is horrifying.

Agreed. I think some sleuths are saying something was put through the vents that "drugged" the victims. Maybe to reason out why the victims "didn't scream". IMO that never happened simply because the offender himself would have been incapacitated.

The FBI have their own planes.
Agree they have their own planes that they use for FBI business. Likewise the US Marshall Service has a flight service that is used for federal inmates and sometimes immigration service. IMO the return of a suspect from another state to the arresting state via voluntary extradition or forced extradition is the financial responsibility of the charging state. This is a state crime, not a federal crime. BK is a suspect, not an inmate.

I believe the MPD wants to bring this suspect back themselves and IMO it will be on a commercial flight. The TSA has rules for this type of transport. Carriage of prisoners under the control of armed law enforcement officers

She didn’t. Someone posted it in her comments. It’s definitely poorly photoshopped.
Angenette Levy is a good source for information

LaBar said BK recalls being asked whether he knew what was going on and he responded by saying something to the effect of "of course I know what's going on I live 10 minutes from this." Then, BK asked for a lawyer

He said it's obvious BK is very intelligent. "He’s calm. He’s fully aware. It’s obvious he’s very intelligent... it shouldn't shock anyone that he's intelligent." (he was getting a PhD)

·LaBar said he has no concerns about BK's mental health and is not concerned about taking his own life. Some have said things about him wearing the suicide vest but that's standard procedure in case like this one

LaBar said BK's father flew out to WA to drive back with to PA with him for Christmas break. However, LaBar said that was planned before BK went to WA for fall semester that dad would fly out and drive back with BK. Believes this happened between Dec. 13-16

BK's family is in shock. They can't afford to pay for an attorney for him. It's not clear who will rep him when he returns to Idaho which could happen sometime his week after Tuesday's extradition hearing

LaBar anticipates this will be a capital case. "I don't want Bryan tried in the court of public opinion... Let’s wait until the facts come out. Let’s not assume anything...It’s so important you don’t jump to conclusions.”

I asked whether BK asked police "did you arrest anyone else?" LaBar said BK doesn't recall saying that.

Also, BK is a strict vegan and accommodations are being made for his diet at the jail in Monroe County

Maybe he's losing it, cuz it's not all turning out like he planned.

It must be alarming to basically be kept in a cage with no free will, no natural light, none of the creature comforts you're used to, with a bunch of other caged humans nearby making noise you can't escape & being poked & prodded by guards & minders when you're not used to it, especially if you're a "control freak".

Realize he may not be doing anything in custody & DM's source got it wrong. Just pointing out some criminals don't realize that they would have a hard time surviving mentally in a jail/prison environment until they're in it, and they freak out.

But how is he wearing pants if he’s on suicide watch? I thought that was just the smock. Pants can be used for hanging.

If you're being stabbed, defensive wounds would most likely be to your hands/forearms while you attempt to deflect the knife. If you even had time to react your initial gut instinct would be to grab what's hurting you... not gouge out an eye...

The girls were on the petite side. I'm 5'1" and I just measured my arm from shoulder to the tip of my middle finger. It's 26". Someone 6ft or more standing by the side of my bed would have his face nowhere close enough for me to reach it. I'm sure he was standing at full height swinging the knife from the highest point he could. The most I think I'd be able to do was try to grab a wrist. JMO

I believe if I were being hauled off from my parents' home in the dead of night by LE out of the clear blue and I had done nothing wrong, I would say things like, "Whaaaat?!?!?" "What is this about?" "What's going on?" "I haven't done anything!" "You've got the wrong person!"

I might even say that same stuff if I were guilty. Lots of people do.

What I wouldn't say is something like (allegedly), "Has anyone else been taken into custody?"

What that sounds like to my prejudiced ear is 'Yeah, I did it, I participated, I sure did, but I want you to think, true or not, that I might not be the only one involved. I'm casual; I'm cool. What else you guys got?'

BK didn't scream you've got the wrong person; he asked do you have all the right people (including me)? At least that's how I hear it, but, again, my ear is not objective.

BK may have an enviable IQ but that doesn't mean he can't also be a dodo head at the same time. Or maybe that was a good thing to say strategy-wise, and I just need help to understand why.

However, to me, it appeared he wasn't all that invested in being seen as innocent, and his question came off a bit like an unintentional confession.
Post of the day :)

But their goal is to restore competence. Competence is defined as their ability to aid in their defense. With BK's studies, it's going to be hard for him to act "incompetent ". JMO

I wasn't aware there was confirmation that the 2015 Elantra was owned by BK's parents. Is there a link for this? I'm suspect here because using BK's name and birthdate on the Geico Auto quote comes back with the 2015 Elantra-- causing me to believe the vehicle is most likely owned by BK. And why wouldn't a former security guard, age 28, not own an 8-year-old vehicle?!

I very much agree about Jake Patterson (Jayme's abductor) intent on taking the teen after witnessing her once get on her school bus. Also, no sexual assault/motive, leaving no witnesses behind.

Considering BK's short tenure in the PNW and KG spending significant time at her family home and not in Moscow, I think it could easily be XC that was once seen by BK (versus KG) -- especially given her personal connection to WSU.

And assuming BK was armed only with a knife, to brazenly enter a residence occupied by six adults and not be caught was probably more about luck than skill.

MOO

Here is the article stating vehicle is not in his name.

No Car

you don't think his lawyers might try competency issue?
No, why would I? There’s been no verified suggestion anywhere that he has mental health issues.

Hmmmm. X-Ray vision perhaps but I have a hard time believing her statement.

Agree and since when are males and females in the same pod, or whatever you call it?

Getting all the details about him helps the prosecution. They need people to come forward, then they can interview individuals and it helps build their Case against him.
How do you know the details are true? People will say anything. There have already been news reports about BK that have been debunked.

@CuriousObserver1 said:
I had not seen the blood dripping down the outside of the property before, it really shows how horrific this crime was and therefore how it would seem pretty much impossible for a perpetrator to leave the scene without there being some evidence to link him to the crime scene.

^^bbm

Please, not the blood oozing through the walls again!

Just as spilling a gallon of milk on your kitchen floor would not likely seep and drip down the exterior walls of your foundation, why would coagulated, human blood?

An adult body has about 10 units (1.2 gal) of blood. And if victims are stabbed in bed, it follows most blood absorbed in the mattress/bedding.
I do think the majority of the blood would go in the mattress at first. During the killings the floors or carpets may have had very little blood. But it could go to outside wall, just as roof leaks or bathroom or kitchen fixture leaks can, since where they end up can be based on them running along rafters. If you have ever had a roof leak the source of the leak can be on the opposite side of the house from where it is coming in.

He is no longer on suicide watch as per his lawyer.

Per Jean Cesares on CNN: at least one family member of the victims is flying in for tomorrow to be at BK’s extradition hearing.

I'm on Team Steve!

I wish him and all of the family members strength as they face this coward who snuffed the life from their precious children. There will be many more days like this ahead.
Bryan Kohberger, <>, plans to waive an appearance in court in Pennsylvania on Tuesday where Idaho prosecutors will request his extradition, his lawyer indicated on Saturday.

Pennsylvania’s Monroe county chief public defender, Jason LaBar, said on Saturday that he plans to tell a judge there on Tuesday that Kohberger will waive his extradition hearing there so that he can be quickly brought to Idaho to face the charges and is eager to be exonerated.

An 8 or 10" knife driven all the way in with body weight of good strength male from above is virtually always going to result in total silence on the part of the victim. In addition to the cutting trauma it is going to feel like you have been hit in ribs with a sldegehammer.
