For those watching the skies, JPATS appears to use Air Boeing 737-4YO. I don't see that they could do bus transport in ten days across the country. Just traveling between 800 - 1,000 miles on one is close to cruelty, and he's considered innocent until proven otherwise.

I am on the fence after hearing everyone these past few days. As much as I would like to say they have solved the crime and have the right person, I am still shocked about the Brittanee Drexel case and all that was told to us about certain people who live in SC. The FBI had us convinced of what had happened to her and then one day, and that was definitely not the killer. The FBI came in very early on this case in Idaho, which made me think that is would be a serial killer, not a college student who was just starting off. I think there are even more fb groups out now than there were when Gabby Petito was missing, and they are filled with many “experts” who are passing anything like fact.

Will we get it?

I mean with the gag order that's now in place?
The gag order doesn't limit unsealed court records (i.e., the PCA when it's unsealed) being made public. JMO.

He changed nothing because he thought he got away with murder---
He did nothing to ensure he would get away with murder though.
Did he allegedly murder in order to get away with murder?

"Demolished half of his parents house"? I didn't get that impression from the press conference. JMO

I can only assume he was able to travel cross country because they didn't have an arrest warrant at that time. JMO
Re 'demolishing half house' was meant to be sarcastic. Obviously, failed.

Re the arrest warrant not being available.
I totally agree with you that they were not prepared to arrest him at that time, I.e. the start of the trip. He was a POI at that time. He must be considered to be a danger to the public, otherwise the type of arrest they opted for could not be neither explained nor justified.

So, if he was presenting real danger to the public, being already identified as POI he could have been cautioned not to leave Pullman area. But he was left to drive for half week across the country, obviously considered to be no risk to anyone, himself including.

Duty of care of the lives, health and safety of general public must be always the top priority. Do you agree? But it might be compromised? Or it was not as he was not dangerous type?

So was he a danger to himself and others or he was was not? That is the question.

Do we know who sought the order? Or, why?
No, but the order itself says why, for a fair trial.

Wow I am not insinuating anything, just an observation, please relax. They were following him across country so they had something, why wait until he gets to PA, the state police had pulled him over, why not arrest him there? He was considered very dangerous so why wait. Just having a polite discussion and my thoughts on it.....
Highway arrests can be quite dangerous. What if he went on a high speed chase or was armed? They also may have needed an actual sample of his DNA from his parents trash before arresting him. (They needed a one to one match) They may have had familial DNA, which is not adequate for probable cause.

I was asking you a simple question. They followed him across country because he was likely their prime suspect at that point and they needed to know where he was going. However, he did not yet have an arrest warrant issued by a judge so that meant he could not be arrested at any point in that trip including the traffic stop. A legal arrest can only occur after the judge issues the warrant which was 2 weeks after his arrival in PA. Taking him into custody was not a locating him issue, it was a time frame issue in solidifying the probable cause needed to obtain a warrant.

Can Idaho's court hearings be televised? Maybe we'll get a better look at BK's arm/hand if he's in court in the next few days. JMO

I am generally pretty "pro" law enforcement (despite doing some criminal defense work). But I am very critical of LE use of SWAT teams and raids in the middle of the night except when genuinely necessary. Cases like Breonna Taylor's death are tragic and unnecessary. I wonder if the arrest couldn't have been done in the morning when he came out of the house on his own. I don't know. Maybe LE felt it really was necessary to do it right then. But I often think that agencies think that since they have a SWAT team that they need to find reasons to USE the SWAT team.
Agree.

The fact that he is suspected of brutally murdering 4 people is reason enough for police to proceed with extreme caution. Maybe he would have a “you’ll never take me alive” mentality. The authorities just couldn’t know how he would react. It was prudent for the safety of the officers to move swiftly and decisively to gain control of the suspect. MOO
I think its entirely appropriate to be prepared and use sufficient force. I think the original poster would agree as well.

The question I and many others have is why wasn't he considered dangerous when he was in Pullman? You don't need an arrest warrant to act and you can get an arrest warrant without enough evidence to convict a person in court. You only need probable cause.

I think the answer is (and this is entirely my own opinon) that LE did not have him on their radar until at least after he left and possibly after he arrived in PA and that means that he had a huge (missed) opportunity to get away.

You know, I'm not even sure, at this stage that he believes he did what he allegedly did.
I'm not factoring the quasi study, they were just normal according to his prof.

I do think it's likely an amount of transference has occurred, maybe not from a serial killer but from a killer he encountered in his studies.
Then again he may have been a member of an ideological group that hated and resented students of either , both or one gender.
Does he actually know what he knows?

He could, theoretically have left on a flight to wherever the very next day but he didn't choose that exit.
He could have killed himself, he could have claimed he'd had a breakdown and acted out, he had choices. Lots of them.

He changed nothing, not even his car.
He didn't even need a car to do what he did.

He makes zero sense to me.

Imo, the accused has no connection to the four victims, no interaction with them, that’s why he was confident. He either stalked them from afar or he chose the house and watched the occupants, their comings and goings, noted it was a party house with regular visitors, easy to break and enter…..

I understand he was being tracked a few days before they arrested him, but at the point he and his dad were stopped by the police, I don't believe he was being tracked.
I agree- It has been mis-reported and mis-interpreted.

There is no way LE would do that.

People who know they are suspects are likely to be more dangerous to themselves or others, desperation is quite a motivator. moo

STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Idaho suspect Bryan Christopher Kohberger is on his way to Moscow to face charges for the murders of four University of Idaho students, a source told Fox News.

Kohberger, 28, left Monroe County Prison in Pennsylvania, according to Warden Garry Haidle. "He is no longer in my custody," Haidle said. "He is in the custody of the Pennsylvania State Police."

This video interview of Chief Fry released 12/28 states that they are still waiting for DNA results (question occurs right before 8 minute mark). IMO this means they got an arrest warrant and arrested him ASAP once the results came in. I think they had the car, which led them to keep tabs on BK on his cross country trip and while in PA, but that was not enough for an arrest warrant. MOO
But they scheduled the cleaning of the crime scene Friday. I am curious about the details of who and how they came to the decision to clean the crime scene, and who got a court order to stop it.

All good points.

My guess is that they didn't suspect him during his drive or he would have been arrested when he was stopped. LE doesn't just let a serial killer drive away.
