The vigil starts in an hour and I would put the odds of the killer(or killers) attending at about 1%. You can bet the FBI will have the event under heavy surveillance expecting the possibility they may indeed show up unexpectedly.

I think it's safe to conclude at this point that the police is going to co tinue to take the mushroom approach (feed us crap and keep us in the dark) with the press and the public. What isn't clear is if they doing this to protect the integrity of their case or if it's being done to avoid having their competency scrutinized.

I really hope it's the former and the killer does not escape justice not because it's actually the latter leaving us in danger of a killer at large.

How long is it ok for the police to keep saying we have nothing to report but we are working it? A week, a month, a year, longer? It's so difficult because for all we know, the police know exactly who did this but are keeping their powder dry waiting for the killer to slip up and give them the evidence they need to make an arrest. It would be tragic if public impatience forced the police to tip their hand and a killer got away because of it.

I wish I knew the right thing to do but I really don't. ☹️

Just for contrariness's sake, I'll say the killer will attend.

Yeah I'd be more worried about what the killer might be doing while all of the police and fbi are at the vigil. He will have free rein in town. JMI

They may not attend, but there is a pretty good chance they are going to watch the stream....and that is eerie to think about.

Me too. But I will give this a shot...the reporter took liberty with his words?
Well his words to Brian Entin are public, audio and visual.
I'm geoblocked from conflicting report but the journo tweeted it's #alleged contents.
Eta 'alleged'

Unless it would stand out MORE if they *weren't* there. MOO

Do you think the killer had an excuse to be at the property in case he got discovered before he could kill? What would an excuse be? Hey your dog got out so I returned it? or hey I am here to do some repairs? Did the landlord use a property management company for this property?
and its 3 a.m. and he just happens to be holding a 9" knife?....
No I do not think so. as far as we know, no words, no manifesto, no grafitti- just stab wounds.

The 5th car (black SUV) had Washington plates. It’s unknown who it belonged to. I read speculation that is may have been one of E’s siblings, but I don’t think that has been confirmed.
I believe X's sister goes to WSU. I don't know if that was her vehicle or not. Could easily be any visitor to the house as well given the close proximity to Washington.

Yes, could be, though this piece of garbage is feeling pretty confident about now, aided by the (intentional?) Keystone Cops routine, so who knows?

5:00 PM PST
Please forgive me for trying to figure out what time to watch! I just went to the link for the vigil and it says, "stream unavailable". Are we to watch it live-Moscow, Idaho time or am I to watch it est time? (I'm from the UK and visiting family in the US. Eastern time zone and my jet lag is causing me to be bonkers!)

Except there was no reporter. This was a press release from the Moscow Police Dept.

It will be 8pm Eastern US time.

Isabella88, that's my thought too. I have wondered, since LE had said early on that there was a target, if they said that based on some (written?) message or sick "clue" left behind by the killer, that somehow indicated that there was a target.

I don’t think LE cares about how long the public thinks it should take. Self preservation of any agency or institution has ruined many cases

Ok, so Kaylee's father says now that he heard about a stalker. But my understanding is that her sister said she knew nothing about that. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Not seeing how this would be relevant to the case.
