Yes, I had not thought of that but it is so much like addiction.
I've read that some or many serial or mass killers also have an allergy-addiction to alcohol and/or other rec or medical drugs.

Thought I would share this, mostly to make sure articles from her are not linked as MSM:

Am I the only blown away by this?
- No one did an ID check at the door to the press conference?
- A woman was so brazen she not only went, but entered, gave false credentials to a person at the door? but also identified herself by name, aloud while being recorded?
- Is this not fraud?
- I hope they investigate her
- I also hope there is are charges, or at least a large fine!
- Curious if she is even a student, and one at Lewis & Clark? If she wants to be a reporter some day is this a good strategic move for her future? Or not?

At least she has highlighted that fact that these press conferences could be attended by anyone.

Nuts

Something I wonder about these types of people… why do some of them cycle so quickly through that “feel itch, obsess, scratch itch (kill), relief, repeat” process, and others do so much more slowly? For example, some serial killers kill again weeks later, and then for others, it can take years to for them to fully cycle through these phases again. Obviously, the psychopathy and lack of remorse and feeling of great relief after killing is the same among them, but what else goes on in their minds that differentiates how quickly each of them “need” to kill again. I would think if there is some sort of methodology to this, it could prove to be helpful in catching these people first… if they know when to be on the lookout. Does that make sense?
I agree, it's like this itch, urge etc. However, I never thought about the cycle/interval aspect. That is interesting...

Thanks.
What is so different about O'Toole's use?
I was listening to the interview and to me they mean desirable, which is another meaning of coveted. Kind of treasured relic to the killer. Perhaps that is a hint to the military/combat past of the killer, being particularly fond of this knife ? Or he 'inherited' it from/was gifted by someone very close to him. JMO

' Maddie & Kaylee died in the same bed' ( in new clip on msm)

now presented as fact, despite everything we discussed hours ago about a careful reading of Steve's words could simply mean that he has assumed this and does not actually know this for a fact

In the interview yesterday, he said he saw pictures of Ks bed which was still made, not slept in. Thereby deduced they’d been in same bed.

If it's blood, there would be a drip line above the on the siding to wick inward and drip on the pipe below the siding on the 2nd floor retaining wall, imho
I'm referring to what looks like blood dripping down on the top portion of an interior door/door frame...not the exterior area said to have bloodstains.

Hi All,
I'm quite new at this case and am trying desperately too keep up with the fast moving threads (currently mid of #17) , before posting my thoughts/asking my questions.

But, I didn't find the abbreviations PIO and BAU in the Lingo thread. Can anyone help me?
English is not my first language and I'm having a hard time to find out what it could stand for.

THANKS!!!!!

I don't believe it's the Uni, but who MPD is working with.
JMO.
Probably all trying to be the “lead” agency and the University is definitely trying to do damage control.

I get that but they spent a lot of time looking for that murder weapon. What specific evidence did they discover on scene that lead them to believe that the killer coveted it? Simply not finding the weapon isn't going to elicit a statement like that.

My opinion.
Going out on a limb here…that statement and the “no funeral” leads me to one conclusion and that’s what they do know about a certain person Or person’s family. I MO

Yea that was an “I think you killed my daughter.” I think dad is about to be a danger to himself or someone else. Someone sure needs to take care of him.

Perhaps more importantly than whether KG and MM slept in the same bed, Mr. Goncalves suggests IMO that the killer left a different behavior footprint on his daughter than on the others. This was during the interview with Martha McCallum. The way he words it is confusing and even confused McCallum, but that’s what I got out of it after listening several times.

As in help him. Not hurt him.

I have been following this case closely and am so shocked by the brutality of it. I truly hope they found the killer/s quickly and get justice. The whole community must be so scared. I’m all the way across the Pond but this case has got me locking all my doors and checking they’re locked even when at home during the day

Curious that K’s dad shared this detail at the vigil- that K and M were in the same bed.
It is possible it is true, and he has been told this detail as a fact
Also possible he doesn’t know it but believes it is true, has assumed

Still possible he has been told this because it is a detail, true or untrue, that may cause a reaction out of the perp- what if they were not in the same bed and yet he says this as if it is fact? Someone in that crowd besides LE will know differently.
It isn’t a fluke that they have PD all around, not just for security, IMO

BAU - Behavioral Analysis Unit; also means Business as Usual but not in the context of this case

yes that photo is on the thread, a few pages back. Have a look and see if you feel that you could say, definitively, from the limited view, whether you can see enough of that bed to say it is ' made' & that nobody died in that room or was attacked somewhere else in that room.

If I can find it quickly, I'll bump it again

What Steve says may turn out to be true but think we can't refer to it as if it's definite
( It reminds me of the ' police have cleared persons X, Y, Z but in reality they use different phrasing ( 'believe' because these people can come back into play as PoI. Reminds me of the Housemate 6 ' we believe...'

Later on LE will get a lot of criticism for not being clear, when sometimes lack of clarity is everywhere)
