Thank you, I am trying to figure out how LE came up with that 4am time. I understand that the coroner can estimate a TOD. But 3am to 4am seems awful tight. The 911 call came almost 9 hours later so why 4am? Just seems odd to me, unless I'm missing something.
I have been trying to figure out the same thing. They were solid on that time from the start. Obviously they know something that hasn't come out.

As per Daily Mail, the attendant at the petrol station said she saw it travelling down White Ave. Looking at street view on Google of the petrol station, and taking into consideration that the image of the white car was directly in front of the camera that caught it and not at any type of angle, I’m going to guess that the camera that caught the footage is on the actual shop part of the station (not at the petrol bowsers) and is facing straight out onto White Ave. The next thing the attendant did is that the car turned down a side street… I would assume the reach from the cameras wouldn’t be all that far, so that leads me to Hanson Ave.

What does everyone else think? I could be totally off the mark but I can’t come to any other conclusion from what the attendant has said. Would love everyone’s input.

I’ve attached an image. Circled in yellow the part of the petrol station I believe the camera is situated and the 2 red lines are where I think the car and camera intersected and the image is taken from. Hansen Ave circled for reference also.

Actually, looking at the CCTV image again, I’m not 100% sure if the camera position I’ve suggested, maybe it was situated on the pumps rather, though I would still come to the conclusion that Hansen Ave would be the only true side street that a camera positioned facing out from the station on White Ave would pick up. I personally wouldn’t consider Troy Rd a side street but maybe different countries different lingo? Not sure. All the other little streets/laneways look more like residential areas rather than true streets IMO.

I’m guessing the lady who was reviewing the cctcv footage took a pic of the screen shot of the car with her phone before handing over the footage to the police so now we have her photo of a photo perhaps? MOO

I’m having a bit of trouble imagining a violent murderer driving around in a white 2011/2013 Hyundai. (Although I can imagine a college female driving this for sure.) If you look at the geography and surroundings near Moscow I see mountains, rough terrain, reservations etc. I’m assuming a lot of the men there drive trucks/suvs due to the winter weather they see a lot of. Suspected knife was a hunting/military style knife?? The car is a bit random to me on this??

Where did she say traveling west on White Ave. The station is south of White Ave. The image would imply the car was traveling West but let's just state that there is a contradictory statement from both news groups

Quote Daily Mail (in top bulletized section):
Where did she say traveling west on White Ave. The station is south of White Ave. The image would imply the car was traveling West but let's just state that there is a contradictory statement from both news groups
“She said she spent days poring over surveillance footage from the night of November 13 before she spotted a white sedan traveling westbound on White Avenue at around 3.45am the night of the murder before turning down a side street.”

DM has it right, I bet.

It is in the bolded at the top of article.

Weird. They are having an outage at this gas station right now. Computers and gas are down.
Yeah it sounds like the caution tape isn’t related to this at all. Brian said their gas pumps and computers are down. They likely taped off the pumps so people didn’t keep driving up to them just to find out they weren’t working. I saw a review on GasBuddy from earlier this year that said their pumps were taped off because they weren’t working that time too.

I'm also wondering where this time range originated. I don't believe any estimated TOD is mentioned in the daily news releases.
Was the TOD brought up during one of the early news conferences?

That's right - forensic pathologist/medical examiner (MDs) does the post-mortem exam. Coroners are usually lawyers who investigate reportable deaths.
At one time coroner's where MDs specializing in forensics pathology. My father was a pathologist and substituted for the city coroner. He did not have a law degree but could write the reports. If it has become more of a public office, then I can see how a law degree with a medical background and using a pathologist to report findings would work. If it is difficult to fill such a position at city / state pay, I can see how that can evolve in that way. Look up a definition mine says an MD specializing in forensic pathology

What’s your opinion of Styner Ave?

I wonder if the video surveillance’s time stamp of 3:45am is correct. In my experience with many cases, video surveillance systems often don’t match the actual time and can be off by several minutes. Just a minute or two can make a big difference in an investigation.

Based on the photo and maps, it seems like the car had to have been heading TOWARDS the house, not away from it. Right?

IMO and if the car is involved.

Time of death can be determined by body temperature. Decreases about 1 degree every hour after death, I believe.

Not sure I quoted you correctly.
DM says “Westbound” on White Ave.

They are UK based. That’s way too specific for them to have made an assumption.

9 days. Geez.

There are a ton of businesses to get to, though. I will admit that a general request should have been made to backup surveillance within a certain radius, but it doesn’t surprise me that it would take 9 days to get out to certain areas.

And to perhaps put an end to this line of discussion we are both correct in that the terms interrelate and it is necessary to prove further as had been done to know clearly what the intent of the term applied. See all the way through. What is a Coroner and What Do They Do?

Good point, I didn’t notice Styner as I got caught up by Troy Rd intersecting it and that being a main road.

Do you think the attendant would say she saw the car turn onto a side street though if it were Styner, as to me personally I see if the car were travelling West on White (towards Troy) that the car then going into Styner would be a continuation of its path rather than “turning off”.

That very well could be taking what she has said way too literally, but that’s my takeaway from it.

I also find it strange if the perp was heading back in the direction of the crime scene HOWEVER I also get that he would be full of adrenaline plus likely trying to take different routes to usual (if local) and potentially making wrong turns accidentally or on purpose so I’m not sure the direction alone would stop me from considering Styner as an option.

I must also add that I would find Hansen Ave a strange spot for them to turn down and stay. And I would assume as she didn’t make a comment that she saw it turn back out that it’s more likely the side street wasn’t a no through road or they would be pretty easy to track down, no?

I missed that article - do you have a link handy? I'll look too. Does it say which direction the vehicle was traveling on Hwy 8/Troy Rd.?

It's either westbound on White Avenue, or ??
Otto,

I’m not quite sure we know what direction on Rt. 8.

Is she calling Styner a side street off Rt. 8

Why am I thinking it all happened fast from her description.
