I read here because everyone needs prayers from even complete strangers.
It's possible but it does seem very unlikely... But it may be that the family had their timeline wrong and DeOrr was wandering unsupervised for a lot longer than that.
The family and the PI have gone awfully quiet... If they really thought it was an abduction you'd think they'd be trying to get more publicity for DeOrr.
Hummm is the PI still PIing?
According to Sheriff Bowerman interference by a wild animal has not been ruled out.
He was ask if the possibility of involvement by wild animals has been ruled out, and answers,
"absolutely nothing has been ruled out."
He tells us that his deputy has checked out dens of wild animals that live up there.
The deputy also explains:
"there could have been some interference from a predator at some point in the scenario, whether at the beginning, or part way through".

You know what stood out to me was when both officers seemed to agree that they believe if those ashes where not dumped during the search they would have been able to find DeOrr. That tells me they believe he is out there somewhere.
That's a very interesting point, giagreen. Yet they also stated that with all of the searching, with SAR, the drones, etc., that if he was up there they would have found him. So either they are inadvertently contradicting themselves or they are in some obscure way admitting they just don't know. Is that what you're getting from it ?
Well I was getting that they think he is up there. But then you also pointed out a very good point as well and with both of our points now I am getting the impression they really just don't know.

Well yeah I think everyone at that point probably believed he had passed. He is two. I don't think anyone thinks he'd last long out there alone. All the cremains did was throw the cadaver dogs off. So if they think they would have found him if not for that, then they must have been expecting to find him deceased.
Bumping off of your post wonderingWhich is exactly what i was trying to say 2 weeks ago. i do not think the sheriff is being coy. I think the FBI should have been brought in immediately..they werent. Nothing can be discounted from DAY 1. By day 3 or 4 the parents were saying abduction.. no FBI.. FBI were brought in around July 31. IMO, time was lost, critical clues could have been overlooked and they could have searched with dogs, drones and the best SAR available. The basics were covered looking at it from an outside view. Yet, the sheriff was good with the family after a couple of days.. POLYS werent even done yet.. or certainly not analyzed by the FBI by then. The sheriff just didnt handle this effectively .. he did search and rescue or search and recovery.. he didnt do foul play or real shoe leather detective work for awhile.. imo.
The site was not secured..it took LE 1-2 hours to even get there..help from the public was discouraged.
IMO..the sheriff did too little too late in the foul play department. I will stick by my assertion. MOO
Anything i write is just my opinion.
The family is quiet in the media, because they "don't want their words used against them" but they have plenty to say in Facebook. We're not allowed to discuss it here but DK and JM both have plenty to say.
I don't get where you guys are seeing this stuff at. Ive checked both their fb pages out and the last thing I seen on DeOrr's page was he updated his profile picture in July. And for Jessica I haven't seen anything that raises a red flag. What am I missing here? What fb page is everyone getting this info from?I know, I finally checked it out. I don't even know what to say, so I'll say nothing. But I can't pretend that people's actions/behavior in this case makes sense, so....will just wait in the wings to hear.

This is the first "case" I've been following since July, when I had just returned home from Northern Idaho. Our local new station ran the story, and I followed any info I could get til I found myself here, and I joined Websleuths.
How do you all keep it together, keep everything so factual and so focused...and then...no resolution comes. Ever. The person is never found. Do you have emotions tied up in these cases, is that why you come here? To try to help and "fight" for the victims? The thought depresses me so much. But at the same time I feel like these victims deserve to have every angle discussed and dissected, in the hopes that something positive or helpful will come of it.
Right now, I am just feeling so sad about little Deorr. He is on my mind all the time. I picture this discussion dwindling profoundly as months go by, and that's upsetting. Justice, resolution, closure...evasive. I won't ever forget this little guy.
I'm bet police/FBI are quietly reading and analyzing every word they write..just to see if anything seems off with the parents.I know, I finally checked it out. I don't even know what to say, so I'll say nothing. But I can't pretend that people's actions/behavior in this case makes sense, so....will just wait in the wings to hear.
